Why does Tony Bennett kick donkey arse, but Barry Manilow is the biggest kittycat wuss in existence?

Cuz Manilow is much more a "writer" of ballads, while Bennet is just a singer (for the most part). The fact that Manilow wrote most of his sappy ballads in the 70s adds the stigma too.
