View Full Version : The Shield Season 6!

10-18-2006, 01:18 AM
Here's the episode synopsis (the spoilers are in the link, so don't click on them if you don't want to know).

I read them however, and didn't find anything shocking or groundbreaking.

On paper it looks disappointing actually - but we know from experience that this show NEVER is.

Antwon does get conjugal visits while in prison, which makes you wonder. I doubt he was married, but don't know. He did have a woman with him several times Vic kicked in his door.

It takes half the season until you can speculate about if a kid who "saw something" actually saw what went down with Shane and Lem on the night Lemonhead died.

The other thing is Aceveda has a meeting about advancing his political career. Huh? A first-term Councilman running for Mayor of Los Angeles? I bet that picture and his s&m prostitute will show up somewhere - not to mention open up a whole new investigation into his "lover" Juan Lazanno's death in a gymnasium accident that occurred around Antwon Mitchell.

I can't wait for the new season, but it won't happen until January 9th I believe. That's a Tuesday night, btw - so the show stays on its traditional evening.

Oh - I also think and hope there will be more than 10 episodes, but likely only 13 like usual.

Haven't checked out the link, but thanks for posting it, Tycho. I'm anxiously awaiting its return.

The Shield is now in syndication, which surprises me. A lot must be edited out.

Here's a new Season 6 trailer promo:

I've now heard that the show won't be back until March! It's not the last season. There will be a 7th season. But they are done filming Season 6 so far as I know. They just won't air it yet. Grrrrr!

It's FX's most popular show by miles and thus they have us (their captive audience) so they cruelly make us wait.

And remember these?

Man, people that don't watch this show have no idea what they're missing!

12-15-2006, 07:36 AM
March?!? Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I remember reading that #6 was supposed to be the last season but the short run wouldn't allow the writers to wrap up all the storylines. And season 7 was greenlit.

12-15-2006, 09:30 AM
Well, at least we'll have The Shield for 2 more years:

2007 - Season 6
2008 - Season 7

And they make us wait about 9 months between 13 episode installments. I mean I do love being a fan of this series, but there are aspects I hate about it as well...

12-24-2006, 03:32 PM
This comes out on March 27!

Isn't this the best cover-art for any season they've released, ever?

Make sure you click on the image. It's not just Vic Mackey pointing his gun as the thumbnail suggests. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I love that theme sub-title, too. :D

I just bought The Shield: The Game for PC.

I believe it's available on a game platform as well. I'm about to load and play it.

Listen to the instructions:

- You can get suspects to talk by shoving their heads in toilets!
- Beat them up if you need to convince them to come forward.
- Remember to turn the cameras in the iterrogation rooms off.
- Steal drugs and plant evidence!
- Accumulate cash for your personal retirement fund (a goal in the game).
- Kill innocent people but remember it will cost you points - IF YOU GET CAUGHT!

Oh gosh! Just reading the directions when I was out to dinner had me laughing.

If you need me, I'll be in Farmington.

One new Season 6 Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLhCemdpKJQ&NR) - it's OK but very nostalgic for Lem.

This trailer is awesome and really brings back what the show is all about! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okSW84_vJTo)

Check them out. April 3rd is the new season I'm hearing now. The DVDs to season 5 go on sale this March.

03-01-2007, 07:03 AM
Can't wait. I've missed Vic and the boys.

03-04-2007, 08:09 PM
This is such a cool series overview! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwuZBtD-te4)

This is The Shield: South Park style - funny. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avznGz-9CgQ)

04-03-2007, 10:40 AM

The Shield Season 6 starts tonight.

All the explosive action of Season 5 is in stores on DVD now (as of last week actually).

"I don't step aside. I step up!"

04-03-2007, 10:44 AM
Can't wait!!

04-04-2007, 12:23 AM
Gosh tonight was awesome!

I can't say enough good things about this show!

Kavenaugh planting evidence! We've seen Vic and the boys do that before.

Dutch is going to pull those freeway surveilance videos and catch him lying though. Dutch gets smarter and smarter every season.

What was up with that house with all the dead bodies? Were they victims of the protective grandson from Dick N Granny (LOL)?

Or will that be an on-going story arc for part of this season? I didn't realize they contracted with Rob Zombie (joke) :D

Tina was hardcore tonight. I think this season will bring Paula Graces some action.

Claudette as captain was low-key IMO. It was done well.

I wish Shane had caught fire, hehe. That was an intense hostage scene. Jerk walks away the hero

Corrine and Danni? That was funny actually. I feel bad for Corrine. She gets dumped on so much by many of the other characters.

But I thought tonight was so good, I watched both presentations back to back. I couldn't walk away!

The Shield is awesome!

04-10-2007, 10:48 PM
The show was pretty darn good - not the best though.

On the plus: Claudette! Way to trust her instincts and having Julian and the other "uni" hold Kavenaugh was classic!

She knows to trust Dutch, and I figured he'd be instrumental in bringing Kavenaugh down. On the minus side, that was predictable - though well played out by Claudette, Kav, Dutch, and Vic's final scenes with him at the jail.

On the downside, Amolia cracked so darn easily. I guess that was always part of her character to sell out to whomever, but Claudette only took seconds to break her and have her crying on about her son.

Meanwhile, Vic's vendetta against Lem's presumed killer is back on. Too late is Shane's conscience catching up with him. I wonder when he's going to crack. I'd rather that didn't take the whole season 6 but it probably will.

Still the show's very realistic in that sense.

Dang Vic has no fear going into gangland like that.

04-11-2007, 07:41 AM
Good episode.

Vic's on a one-man mission.

Kavanaugh got his just desserts. It was just a matter of time before he self-destructed and did something stupid.

I thought Shane would crack and talk. Too bad Ronnie didn't believe him.

I know this is nit-picking but I thought the uniforms wore their badges on the left-hand side of their uniforms. It was on the right. It just looked odd.

04-16-2007, 07:36 AM
I went back and found the first episode; had watched part of it but misplaced my tape.

Now Tycho's comments make sense!

The granny porno was an interesting side story.

Boy, Tina's turned into a hard-***** between the season break. Dutch boy's influence must've rubbed off, in a professional way.

Paula Garces (Tina) has guest-starred on two episodes of CSI: Miami this season as a high-priced call girl. I think she'll be back at least one more time before season's end.

I was surprised the multiple murders weren't addressed in the second episode. I hope it's a storyline that's followed up on.

04-17-2007, 10:23 PM
They didn't seem to be doing more with the house with all the bodies - or did I miss something?

I guess Kevin Hyatt joins the cast next week. Should be interesting.

I'm not sure if Vic tortured the guy he beat with the chain, or life tortured Shane more.

I wished Dutch would have gotten together with Tina. Everything conspires against the poor guy.

Tina is a cop. He should have insisted he bring her in when the Fed talked to him. That would have solved that issue.

04-18-2007, 07:30 AM
Other than a passing reference about a high body count in the Farmington district, nothing about the mass murder.

Boy, Vic really has crossed the line. Can he come back from that?

Nice to see Ronnie get a juicy storyline.

Dutch just can't get a break with the ladies.

The evolution of Tina is interesting to watch. She wants to be a better cop and possibly a detective, and she has a good mentor in Dutch. But the flirty stuff needs to stop if she wants to accomplish that.

I can picture the producer telling the location scout to find him the crappiest looking house and garage that could used for a meth lab set.

One thing you can say about the Shield: it sure doesn't glamorize LA!

04-25-2007, 07:53 AM
It's official: Vic had a meltdown. Great acting in the final scenes.

And we're finally getting back to the mass murder from episode 1. I hope the producers continue with this storyline. Just weird that it aftermath was shown but nothing else has been done with it.

And Tina transferring out? I think it's more to do with PR than Dutch.

Good episode.

04-25-2007, 09:39 AM
I hope that doesn't mean Tina is off the show. She's so nice to look at!

05-02-2007, 02:23 PM
Last night's show was awesome! I think it was the best show of the season thus far!

The toilet was gross. (You can do that to suspects in the video game, btw. Haha).

I like the recurrence of Vic's old strike team buddy, the black guy.

Julian adjusting to the strike team was well done. I start to wonder about Billings' relationship with his own "2 weekends a month kids," but I'm not really thinking anything's going on there. But the "Bad Daddy" was interesting though much less rare in the real world than people like to talk about (that's part of what the argument in favor of abortion without parental notification is about).

Shane? I didn't feel any sympathy for him. He's getting what he deserved after what he did to Lem. Now perhaps Mara will betray him as he betrayed her? Or she'll cover for him as she might be the only one who could sympathize. Who knows. From the previews of next week it looks like Vic is counting the grenades that Shane logged into evidence. It'll be next week's episode or the one after. The water is reaching the boiling point and the kettle is going to sing.

05-02-2007, 03:33 PM
It was a good episode.

First time we'd seen Mara in almost a season. Wasn't she in only one episode last season?

05-02-2007, 04:00 PM
I don't recall. I don't pay much attention to Mara, LOL.

05-08-2007, 10:46 PM

Geeze. I didn't know that Vic was going to find out the truth tonight! That got so intense at the end there. I didn't think Vic would be stupid enough to shoot Shane, but I know he'll want to kill him.

Tina's back (Yum!) - So will it be Dutch, Kevin, or Ronnie? I bet they pull some twist and we learn she's a lesbian and just teases men. ;)

You know that perhaps Vic is going to use his leverage with the city controller (due to covering up his daughter's death scandal) to get back in.

This show could entertain us forever!

05-14-2007, 08:40 AM
Tycho, thanks for posting the spoiler header. I didn't get a chance to watch last week's show until this morning. Taped it at my parent's house and kept forgetting the grab the tape.

Good episode. The confrontation between Vic and Shane at the end was intense.

Acaveda is getting on my nerves. He's in pure politician survival mode.

It was nice to see Tina back. She's such a tease. And Danni busts Tina's chops every chance she gets.

Thoroughly enjoying this season.

05-14-2007, 09:14 AM
I'm glad you liked it. This season is unfolding so fast. I can't believe there's a new episode tomorrow! It seems like I'm still trying to wrap my head around that last scene with Vic and Shane from last Tuesday.

Of course I don't want the show to break, but that would have almost been a good place to do it - like when Lem died at the end of Season 5. It would leave us with so much to think about and totally miffed about what is going to next occur.

Nah....I'm so glad there will be another 4 new shows this season! I can't get enough of The Shield.

05-15-2007, 10:12 PM
Tonight's episode felt like filler, though parts were exciting.

I wonder if they told that guy he could get cast in the part of the Mexican official if he cut his arm off? Special effect or real amputee?

05-16-2007, 07:35 AM
Yes, it was a filler episode, but enjoyable.

At the end, the look on Vic's face showed he realized he's not out of the woods yet with his problems.

Interesting to see the Mexican massacre is contributing more to the storyline.

I'm willing to bet he's an amputee. If you saw the remake of Dawn of the Dead, when the survivors are first getting into the mall, there's a one-armed Asian guy chasing them. He had a bloody stump, like someone gnawed his arm off. He was a true amputee.

I'm thinking, two new episodes, maybe three at best, before the season is over?

05-16-2007, 01:52 PM
3 more from what I hear on my MySpace boards.

I wonder if the storyline with Shane will be resolved this season?

05-16-2007, 02:48 PM
I was wondering that myself.

I could see the Shane storyline get wrapped up and the consequences be the focus on next season.

Or there could be a cliffhanger finale this season that carries over to next?

05-23-2007, 04:36 PM
Another filler episode. A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

Events are slowly building up to the finale. Shane just gets himself in deeper and deeper.

I thought the scene at the end with Dani, Tina and Corrine buying the knock-off purses was funny.

My tape ran out before I could see next week's preview. :upset:

05-23-2007, 05:46 PM
This week's episode was more entertaining than last week's. But yeah: filler, building up.

One crazy scenerio I thought of was that Shane gets the Armenian mob to protect him.

To counter that, Vic sells out Hernan to win over favors with the Salvadorians.

Next the Salvadorians take on the Armenians, spurred on by all of this. They don't do it out of loyalty to either Vic or Shane, but are maneuvered into it by planted evidence and so forth.

If the Amernians and Salvadorians really wipe each other out well-enough, the black and Mexican gangs will be left (as always) in control of Los Angeles.

OK - granted it's an appocalypse fantasy, but I like those.

05-24-2007, 07:22 AM
We have a seniors program at work, and on Tuesday a rep from the local school system spoke to the seniors about gangs. He mentioned Honduran gangs. I told my co-worker later in the day, it's just like the Shield!!

It's obvious Shane won't go the Mexico route like Lem was planning. Maybe the Armenians will help him with a new route?

The chick who played the Armenian mob leader was in the first two Bourne movies and in Run Lola Run. RLR is great, if you haven't seen it.

05-29-2007, 10:41 PM
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING: do not read until after viewing the 5/29 episode!

Go Aceveda, go! Love it long time!

And TINA, mmmm YUM! Lucky Kevin Hyatt. Lucky. Lucky. Soooo Lucky!

Bad and nasty Billings.

Gosh the barn is like high school! Did it not feel like everyone was trying to be kind of the playground tonight?

And next week? Oh my. I knew the money train was coming back to haunt them!

05-31-2007, 07:24 AM
Again, Tycho, thanks for the spoiler info. I didn't get a chance to finish watching the show until this morning.

Just when you thought this show couldn't get any better... IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad, bad Billings.

Just knew it was only a matter of time before we saw Tina in a compromising position. lol . We should all send thank-you notes to the producers.

Next week's finale looks intense!

06-06-2007, 04:35 PM
Spoilers ahead!!

First of all, I'm glad I set the VCR timer for 90 minutes!! I watched it all before work. I was a little late but it was worth it!!

I've read on other messages boards viewers are commenting that they were let down by the season finale. I wasn't but I did expect something big to happen. But let's face it, Lem's murder from last season is kinda hard to top.

Looks like the San Marcos/Mexican mob is going to be one of the big plot lines for next season. It was interesting to watch Vic and Aceveda piece everything together, and Aceveda realizing he's been played for a fool.

I can understand what Shane did to Vic's family. It was like Shane was starting to correct/remedy his transgressions. But is it too little too late?

And does Ronnie have family? I don't think so.

Vic walking out of the hearing was pretty ballsy.

Hyatt's gone. No big loss. He's going to a show on CBS in the fall.

Billings: what an idiot. I hope the police board finds him guilty of fraud.

And finally (!!) Dutch gets the girl!! :lipsrsealed:

An intense season, with just a few filler episodes.

06-07-2007, 01:58 AM
Dutch needs to get with Tina. With her around, I don't think he'll be satisfied with single-mom Danni.

Billings is a jerk of the first degree!

04-08-2008, 01:01 AM
Just for all the subscribers, I'm going to start The Shield: Season 7 thread.

There is new information.
