I was just messin' with 88 and discovered that his legs extend! Am I the only one who didn't know? Why don't they mention these things on the package?!

Pretty cool feature huh!:D

Yeah, I didn't know 'til I opened him.;)

Now he's one of my favorite 12 inch scale figures. Although I only own like 6!

Hasbro does such a bad job with most 12 inch stuff.

Man, I've had this guy for months, and I just discovered this. Unfortunately, he won't stand up with the legs extended.

Poor fella doesn't seem to have any locking mechanism to hold those legs into place. I keep meaning to experiment with some Scotch tape on the back of his legs to keep them from retracting under his weight, but haven't gotten around to it.

Well, he sure is tall now.

I think I'm gonna stick a lil plastic accessory or something in the grooves in back of his legs. Lock 'em open.

Try those little clear rubber bands things to block them from sliding in if they can fit, not only will they not damage the figure but it will still look good from all sides. :D I dont' have the figure but thought that may be worth a try for those of you who have it.

I didn't know his legs extended either until I opened him up too. It's neato!

Why do they extend? Maybe because there really isn't much to him. Don't get me wrong He's a cool 12" and I do have him, but I can't open the package:crazed: "I just can't do it Captain"

Give in to the Darkside.

It is your dessstiny. :Pirate:

Besides this thing is MUCH cooler loose than BOXED! I don't keep any 12 inch stuff boxed.;)

Or ships for that matter.:)

They extend because at the proper height for IG-88, he wouldn't have fit in the standard sized box. So, Hasbo gave him extending legs, to bad they won't stay extended very well after you pull them out. I just put it on a action figure stand, so that the figure's weight doesn't cause the legs to retract again.

Hasbro should have just packaged him with his legs detached in the package, so they wouldn't have had to use the extendo legs. But then your packaged collector's would have complained, I'm sure. Oh well, he's still one of the best 12" figures ever. :)

Does that also go for the 3.75" IG-88? I ask because I saw one on e-bay that had one leg longer than the other. The seller stated it was a error/variation, hell on e-bay they say everything is an error/variation:crazed:

Mine do, I just noticed this right now, because I always knew that the 12" IG-88 was a little taller then it was with the legs in like that.:crazed:

Mine just barely stay up, a big jostle can make the legs slide back in though. Still, a really neat feature on a cool figure. I've heard wedging stuff like paper or cardboard into the grooves can fix this, but I haven't tried that yet.
