Yup it's true folks, Target is actually selling the deluxe set2 figures for more than I've seen them anywhere else! What's the goings on with that? I even saw them at Frank and Sons for cheaper than that ROFL

Tell me, what are these people thinking....are they trying to keep us star wars fans outta there store by jacking up prices???

Positively disgusted!

$15.99? What? Only place I can find Amanaman, but $15.99? "We could almost buy our own [toy] ship for that! ... That's okay, I'm never coming back here again!" And, just like Luke, I WILL be back, when stuff comes in... :(

I feel your pain. :greedy: :greedy: :greedy:

One week ago I looked at Bacta Luke / Deluxe Maul warming KMart's pegs at a cool $9.99, only to head to Target and see 1 Amanaman and 1 Leia with a $15.99 price tag.

I almost became delusional, thinking "hey, I never planned on buying the Leia anyway, so . . . " but then I thought better of it and left Amanaman there. I guess I was not willing to pay his bounty. And I doubt I will ever see him again.

The saddest thing is that Target charges LESS than KMart for the basic figures . . . by 50 cents, I believe.

I ran into the same thing at our Target. I just didn't like the figures enough to pay 15.99 for them. Thier good but not that good.

Only 10.99 @ TOYS R US of all places. The funny thing is the 15.99 cost sure didn't stop the pegs from being rapped. Not one Deluxe was left @ Target:crazed:

At first, I though that price was a mistake, but you'd think they would have corrected it by now. It looks like maybe they're trying to use the exclusive pricing model on non-exclusives. ie. Initial price about 50% more than acceptable retail, until all the stupid people have bought theirs. Then "clearance" at just above acceptable retail. Then "clearance" again at correct retail. Then, if there are any left, "clearance" then again at a real discount.

To tell you the truth, I don't blame them. If people are stupid enough to clear the pegs at $16 for one figure, why not charge that much?

For what it's worth, Leia and Amanaman sat for a couple weeks at my local K-Mart at 9.99.

Yeah, my local Target has had the Amanaman and Leia's warming pegs for a good 3 weeks now.

$15.99 What a joke!!!

I was tempted to ask the manager if they knew that K-Mart (1 BLOCK AWAY) had 'em for $9.99!?!?!:crazed:

That's a $6.00 price difference! The new POTJ figures retail for $6.44:crazed:

My Target's the exact same way. $15.99 for Amanaman and Slave Leia deluxe figures. Looks like as other people have surmised, they decided to price the 25th Anniversary sets and the Deluxe sets at the same price.

And nope, didn't stop anyone around here from buying them. Last time I checked all they had left was 1 Slave Leia. Of course there are quite a few Star Wars collector's here. As well as 2 Comic Stores that loot the pegs and re-sell.

MTFBWY and HH!!

Yep, same here too. I found them for $15.99 and all I can say is that there were plenty of them to go around. Hopefully Target will clearance them down, just like they did with the other figures a couple weeks ago.

Sorry about my posts. My computer is acting up and it isn't showing that the stuff is going through, but then as soon as I try to do a repost, it does. You may delete the extra one SirSteve or Moderator.

There are 3 Targets for me between work and home. One of them reduced the price on Deluxe wave 2 to 9.99 early last week. It wasn't a mark-down/clearance, just a price adjustment. They are still 15.99 at the other two Targets though.

Personally, I'm waiting to see if those two show up at KMart or TRU for a lot cheaper.

TRU has them for 10.99

I noticed that the K-mart in my area haven't gotten any Star Wars toys since late November. Their toy aisle is growing more bare by the minute. I heard a rumor that they are shipping merchandise from that store to other stores in the area, and that my local K-mart will close down soon. :( That means I have to go to Wal-Mart to buy figures (unless I want to drive 20 miles) and the Wal-Mart in my area has been sporting empty pegs for quite awhile now. :(

I broke down and bought an Amanaman but I also picked up an Obi Jedi Training for $4.99 and a clearance Qui-Gon Mos Espa for $1.54. So everything evened out. But the price is ridiculous!:Pirate:

I agree.Target in my area wants $16.99 for them, and the funny
thing is the entire SW section has been taken over by them. One would think Target would get the hint:rolleyes:

Yup Folks it's true....THE BIG K filed for bankrupcy(sp?) and many many stores wil be closing in the near future. There's actually some kinda something on NPR (National Public Radio) to save the K-Marts.

I spoke with a fellow SW fan on Saturday. He found his Amanaman and Leia deluxe sets at a local KMart for $10 each. So there is hope!

Of the stores near me, the prices are
Target's: $15.99 (easy to find)
K-Mart's: $9.98 (harder to find)
Toys R Us's: $10.99 (hard to find)
KB Toys': Star Wars toys? Ha!

I'm waiting on the Maul and Luke Deluxe figures to go down, because every TRU and KM has them in bunches.

Thanks for the price list, Bel-Cam. The deluxe Luke and Maul are $10.99 at KB in my area, and they are plentiful.

I need to start hitting the KMarts in my area.

Here's something to think about when you have time: A fellow SW collector and I were talking on Saturday about the deluxe and the 25th anniversary packs. He wondered if Target mistakenly priced the deluxe packs at $15.99, thinking they were the anniversary packs, and just never admitted the error and changed the price.

Best price I have seen is $7 for all of the Deluxe figures.
But get this....THIS IS THE REAL DEAL:
12 inch Luke and Yoda for $7!!
Needless to say I snagged that!!
This was at Wal-Mart near Myrtle Beach, SC.

I'm happy to announce that I found the deluxe Leia at my local KMart last night for $10 -- $9.98 to be exact. It made my day.

So much for not charging anything on the credit card in February.

I went ahead and bought an Amanaman at Target today. I really wanted him, so I just went ahead with the price. Around here, TRU stopped carrying Deluxe, KMart is clogged by Luke/Maul asst, Wal-Mart has never had them, and I won't even check KB

So far I am not regretting the purchase :)

I just stopped by my local Target. They had:

6 Amananman ($15.99)
6 Leia ($15.99)

And peg warmers Ketwal and Pek Porkins ($6.44 ea.).

I don't think they have sold a single deluxe figure in weeks!:greedy: :D :p

I have been to about 4 targets in my area and they all have about 12 Amanamans and Leia Sail Barge sitting on the pegs. They have been there for over a month now. Why doesn't someone tell the people at Target that they are overpriced? It can't be that hard to catch a mistake like this. I want these figures, but I'm not going to pay that price for them. I guess I'll wait till they go down in price.

I went on a major toy hunt on Saturday, looking for cheap Amanaman and new SW figures -- 10 stores! Know what I found? Zilch! Nada!

Only thing I wasted was a Saturday morning and some gas.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The gas is no big deal, but a Saturday morning... You can't replace that. :D
