The 501st is really only useful as Anakin's Death Squad in the Jedi Temple (or fighting Yoda and Obi-Wan). At probably $66 a figure, I can't justify wasting the money to army build in 12" with that one, plus I have my Anakin and Obi-Wan figures busy in other figure groupings - can't really call them dioramas, but I still buy 12" that go with other 12".

Isn't the Coruscant Clone the same thing as the Shocktrooper? If not, my mistake.

Everything you listed, Tycho, and anything else Sideshow makes. And I don't care what order.

Although I have stated (and it is true) that I have lost some of my enthusiasm for the line because of the quality issues I have had with my figures, I still have more than enough enthusiasm to be excited about every figure that Sideshow does. And they are all so awesome that I have completely put away my Hasbro turds. Half of them I geve to my son to destroy. I only kept the very best ones and even they are boxed up and off to storage. And the medicom figures will end up there as well unless they can hold their own in a display with the Sideshow ones. I know that the Medicom figures are supposed to be a lot shorter than the Sideshow figures, but that is OK for the clones as Jango Fett was VERY short! So we will see if the Medicom Clones can be displayed with the Sideshow Jedi and if the Medicom Stormtroopers can be displayed with the Han Solo.

No Tycho they are not. The Coruscant Clone is the one with the Grey markings.
If you'll recall in the movie they are in the langing zone standing around and packign up things when a big Wookiee comes up to them. (They were sold in the Clone Attack on Coruscant battle pack.)

Let's see, there were 96 on my list. At one per month, it would take them 8 years to get all that stuff out. I don't know how long SideShow bought a Star Wars license for, but Hasbro has until 2018 or 12 more years, if that's an indicator. Meanwhile, there are not that many more Star Wars items from Hasbro that I plan to buy myself. Our lists of figures never made before pretty much sums my interest up - and some vehicles I hope that they do - see JediMasterSal's voting thread on those choices.

But the total for SideShow would cost me $6,336, not counting duplicates. Not quite enough for even half a Buick. Meanwhile, I didn't count the multiples I'd buy such as certain clones, but I'd only go for 2 in those cases.

However, I don't think SideShow will make all of these, but my list does explain why if they make Vader or Dooku or Boba Fett, etc., why I won't be buying them. There is enough that they could do that interests me though.

Meanwhile, I spent like $2,500 all at once on April 2, 2005 (ROTS toy release at Midnite Madness) and I've done similarly well at other big release dates for Star Wars merchandise. So at $66 a month approximately, this really isn't too much - and remember, they'll be making figures like a basic Han Solo or Episode One Obi-Wan Kenobi that I just won't be interested in. I'm not out to replace my Hasbro 12" figures except in rare occasions - Han Solo Bespin and ROTS Anakin Skywalker were such exceptions!

Leia Endor was very notably missing from my list. I never bought Hasbro's Barbie on a speederbike as she really looked one fry short of a happy meal.

I wanted to use the large bike that came with Luke Endor to carry both brother and sister just like in the movie, as you can't do this with the small one for the 3 3/4" collection. So I also didn't need Leia to come with a bike.

I think she's a good figure choice I left off my list by accident.

What's interesting to me is that Hasbro has found over 500, probably over 700 some figures to make, but I'd only buy 12" figures of about 1/5 of that, or 1/7th if the higher count is more accurate. Also, note I'd steer clear of most of the main characters.

I would not count re-sculpts as a stand-alone figure. Between characters and then different costumes for each character...I will bet that Hasbro's number of figures is more like 300. We have so many resculpts of R2-D2, Tattooine Luke, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers...et al that even though I have not done the actual research, I would ALMOST bet that half of the figures are re-sculpts of the same character and costume.

There are instances where one Sideshow figure with a few extra accessories could equal 5 or 6 or 7 Hasbro 3 3/4" figures.

He would be about the size of Chewy, whom I would also like in real fake fur.

THanks, I'm tired of seeing the same characters and the same versions of characters over and over again. If Sideshow made just one of the figures on my list, I'd be happy.

I was very impressed with their Jabba set and VERY encouraged by their Endor Rebels set. It showed me that they are really looking to make their own mark on this hobby and not just retracing someone else's footsteps.

Now that they are starting to get all the Lukes and Hans and Jedi out of their system, I'm really excited to see what they make next.

If they do a "second chance" on those Endor Rebels, I might just pick up one or two. They were sold out last time I checked.

I don't dislike them. I don't know yet. I can't quite fugure it out either. Maybe it's because I'm thinking that these are like llittle people, and should have everything that we have work like we have, or work like it does in the movie. Maybe it's because I grew up with GI Joes, and they didn't have an interchangable helmet-head, but rather a real helmet or hat and clothes. Play value has something to do with it. My inner child doesn't want to pull a head off (just think how that would traumatize a little kid) but rather put a helmet on. It's just logical. I know that some if not all of Hasbro's 12' SW figs with removable helmets are either too big or just cheeze-ball, but somebody at Sideshow needs to make this work..... Or not, whatever. Maybe I'm just kinda qwerky in that area. Then again, I guess it all depends on what type of helmet it's just not going to work on. Obviously a Luke with X-Wing gear absolutely has to be removable. Whereas a Commander Cody maybe different because his head is fully covered. Still he needs to be able to hold his head-helmet under his arm, to recreate his pose in the movie. I'll wait to pass final judgement on the Leia Boush helmet-head when we get it. I just have to keep telling myself. "It's not a GI Joe, It's not a GI Joe" :ninja:

I agree with you Blue2th, as I like real removeable helmets for the play value, pose options, etc.

Maybe they should include 2 helmets with a figure like Cody then - one as an accessory prop and the other as his helmeted head?

What they say the problem really is that the plastic expands or something in production and the head would wind up too large to fit in the helmet, so the helmet has to wind up being larger, and SideShow is all about exact replication and scale whenever possible.

I'm not saying I like this explanation. I'm just saying I can repeat what I heard.

Now that I got my SideShow Jabba and his throne environment, I might want to reconsider which figures from Jabba's Palace I'd buy and which one's I'd forego because of lack of room.

Well, I looked at my list and considered all the Jabba-characters on it. Then I figured I'll just make room for them if SideShow makes them.

Sorry, but how cool would a 12" Amanaman be? Sure it's completely unnecessary, but how cool would it be?!

*The Max Rebo Band could be awsome. Due to size restraints, I'd have to set up the band elsewhere, away from my other Jabba 12" if I decided to indulge myself.

Note: I have made very good friends from other Star Wars collectors. If I don't buy something, that leaves me with always "something new" or different to see when I visit them and view their collection.

Such is my 5 foot long Blockade Runner in my own collection.


There are more characters from Jabba's Palace possible for sure, but space to display them is at a premium in many folks' collections. I tend to be particular.

I don't collect the Sideshow stuff, but I don't think I could say no to these figures done in 12" scale.

Only three of these have ever been made into a 12" figure before.

3. Kithaba (often mistaken for Barada, but had more screen time and a better death scene)

I came to this thread wanting to update my list, but it's pretty close to what I still want now. The only thing that has changed is the order that I want these figures in. I think I'd prioritize a little more since my finances aren't as abundant as they used to be.

So, ones that I would definitely buy, even to the point of selling off parts of my collection to afford them (this is a prioritized list, so they're listed in order of preference):

1. A-Wing Pilot - Green Leader (Arvel Crynyd)
2. Kithaba
3. Ephant Mon
4. Barada
5. Y-Wing Pilot - Grey Leader

If the following were made and made well and if I had the money to afford them at the time, then I would buy these (in order of preference).

The Biker Scout has taken the biggest dive on this list, that's because I'm just a little burned out on them right now. The Saga Legends rerelease of the VTSC figure pegwarmed pretty bad over here; so I think that's hurt my esteem of this character.

I would also like to see Sideshow try their hand at "studio scale" vehicles. I would love to have a model quality A-Wing that is 1.5 or 2 feet long. They could include lights and everything. Similar to Master Replica's studio scale models, but hopefully less expensive.

I thought Hasbro's Ackbar was really good for when it came out, but could definitely see the possibilities for some major improvements if Sideshow were to come up with their own version. I would be willing to bet that the eyes would just be painted, though. However, I think the overall quality of the figure would more than make up for that.

Considering Sideshow's penchant for military type figures, I'm surprised we don't see more Rebel Pilots. I would think those would be a perfect fit for a company like Sideshow.

Of course, now it seems like they're falling into the Stormtrooper/Clonetrooper rut. :tired: Ah well, I'll start paying attention again when they get back to the aliens.

With them doing armor now, Boba Fett or a Snowtrooper should be a lock (though I don't need to buy them as my Hasbro versions satisfy me).

Hoth Rebel Soldiers (like they did the Endor Rebel Soldier set) would also be a good idea.

The Hoth Han and Luke, and TaunTauns, are not something I'd go for - as again, I like what Hasbro did. But now is the time.

Snowspeeder pilots would also be very welcome for most I'd guess.

Leia and the Hoth Rebels are on my list.

My guess is Cody will come in at $125, same as Vader, due to his second helmet and tiny jetpack, and it'll feel like a ripoff.

On Cody:

In Sideshow's defense,Cody is a little more work (tooling, accessories) than the standard style ROTS clone they've been releasing so far. The armor has some variations, then helmet(s) are different. Hopefully the figure will feature an "unhelmeted" portrait of the battle-scarred clone too. And there's also the jetpack JT mentioned. There may also be three sets of hands...fists. gun grip, open/pointing, a basic "grip" (to hold Kenobi's saber hilt) and another alternative hand may feature the holo-projector with Sidious.

I agree the price will probably equal Vader at the minimum...but I'm hopeful that the figure ill be one of their better efforts. He's the premier of the unique commanders and I'm betting a little extra effort is going into this one....I sure hope so anyway.

As for wish list ideas...I'm still waiting for any news on some Hoth-related figures. A SnowTrooper will be fantastic, but I'm still anxious to see some main characters in their Hoth gear...

SideShow has been busy making clones. It's scary that they're closer to having made a lot of the movie variants. Maybe they're in financial difficulty and they're maximizing the profits they get off the armor molds?

The next will be battle droid variants, no doubt. And with damages, they can expand both the clones and droids a long ways. That's economies of scale taken to an extreme.
