Excellent movie! I think Harrison Ford embodied the heroic kind of President we'd all like to see.
However, the CGI effects were somewhat weak and fake looking. Still, to me that doesn't detract enough for me to dislike a good story.
Gary Oldman was great - as he often is. THIS is how you play a terrorist bad guy (by way of comparison to a less riveting performance by a baddie in say Passenger 57).
I did not like Glenn Close's hair. She's a good actress (see her as Captain Rawlings on The Shield) but she does not need a girl's girl hairstyle. A straightening iron or a little less perm-wave would have done make-up wonders for her playing the Vice-President.
Anyway, the level of action and the whole "Die Hard in the skies scenerio" was very cool. I'm glad I watched this one.
Ford hasn't always made good movies (though I think either half of them, or a majority of them are). This is one of the good ones, thanks Harry.
By the way, it's great to see him in a pilot's seat any chance a script allows for it. :D
