View Full Version : QUESTIONS FOR HASBRO - round 25

JediTricks
02-06-2007, 08:22 PM
Please post your VOTE for up to 6 {six} of the questions provided in this thread, letting us know which ones you most want to see asked on Friday, February 16th 23rd. Keep in mind that your votes in round 24 do not count in this round, so if your question is still on the list, you may want to vote for it again.

Also, feel free to post new questions. For reference, here are Hasbro's answers from previous SSG questions (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/index.php?categoryid=13&p2_articleid=76); and from other sites (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/index.php?categoryid=13&p2_articleid=510). And here are the questions we asked last week (note - due to low voter turnout and Hasbro not answering our Jan 19th questions, we only asked 2 new questions from the last round, and resubmitted the Jan 19th questions with them to avoid further backlog):
With the recent addition of the Comic Book Two packs, and the thoughts of EU Figures being shipped in future waves, will we ever see a new sculpt of Kyle Katarn, perhaps as he appears in either Jedi Knight or Jedi Outcast ? This would be great way also to release perhaps the Dark Jedi in the game as well as other characters in the games like Jan Ors or Rahn or even an older version of Luke Skywalker.
With you knowing that collectors have been asking for new versions of movie accuarte Han and Luke in stormtrooper disguises for a while, why did you go and make them only in the comic 2 packs which are chiefly for EU fans? Will this further delay us getting movie accurate versions of these two now, or perhaps hasten it?Current questions (vote for up to 6):
- What is the status of Playskool's Jedi Force line?

- Having met some of you at SD Comic-Con, where I've been able to talk to you and learn all sorts of things about the struggle involved in making these toys, I wonder if maybe you'd consider sharing a lot more of that with collectors in general? If not, why? - asked by Plasticfetish
- Back when you were posting updates about the Fan's Choice figure development on your site, it did a lot to generate interest. Any chance that you'd go back to doing something like that? If not, why?
- I've seen the Kenner and Galoob logos on a few things lately. Is that just a "special" thing, or are we looking to see a relaunch of some old brands?
- Are more properties aside from Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Marvel, and Transformers planned for the Titanium Series lines?
- With each figure in The Saga Collection line having at least 6 different "exclusive hologram figure" pack-ins, some collectors think these were created solely to sell multiples of the same figure to completists. What was the thinking behind these "exclusive hologram figure" pack-ins, and why change the color from blue to red when there were no red character holograms in the movies?
- Canadaian collectors miss out on a many of the US-only store exclusives. Any chance Canadians could have every exclusive figure/vehicle/combination made available on shop.starwars.com after their shelf runs in the US stores?
- Is there any possibility of seeing a 7" Unleashed Clone Wars Animated wave?
- What is the status of the Holiday line? Any thoughts to a release of a Padme & Anakin with baby Luke manger type of scene?
- With talk about the Expanded Universe figures returning in 2007, are the EU figures going to be short-packed like TSC's Scorch or will there be enough for everyone?
- If Hasbro feels that mid-sized vehicles is the way to go, then will we be seeing more airspeeders and landspeeders in the forseeable future? Some of the airspeeders are pretty much snubfighter sized.
- Eventually will all the Episode III Clone Commanders be released as an entire set?
- With the release of the George Lucas in Stormtrooper Disguise and the Lucas Family Collection, can we expect to see a George Lucas the Director action figure in his trademarked flannel shirt and perhaps variations of old and young Lucas?
- Has Hasbro considered taking figures that were released in the original Kenner vintage line that have already been remade with modern VOTC quality (example: OTC Cloud Car Pilot) and packaging them on VOTC-style packaging, perhaps for a lower price than new-mold VOTC go for (msrp $10)?
- Are there going to be any more silver 'raw metal' Titanium 3" ships like the silver Slave I, 5-pack Millennium Falcon, 5-pack Death Star, etc.?
- Since we've seen Star Wars crossovers with Transformers done in the Star Wars Transformers line, the Attacktix line, and even some might argue the Titanium Series line; and Marvel Superheroes now have Titanium and Galactic Hero-styled entries, will we get other kinds of crossover entries, perhaps GI Joe Galactic Heroes? Star Wars, Transformers, and GI Joe all had their first comic ties to Marvel, so it'd be... uh... "perfect"!
- Though you said you wouldn't be releasing any new Separatist Leaders or Neimoidians in 2007 does this include repaints and retools of existing ones?
- What does Hasbro think about using the New Jedi Order (Yuuzhan Vong) series of novels for source material for the Expanded Universe collection?
- Since the upcoming Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter is an orange version of the AOTC ship, does this lower the chances of getting the green & gray (with yellow droid) ROTS version of his ship as seen in the Clone Wars cartoon episode 23, or is it possible that we will still see one in the future?
- Since the AAT has been rereleased with the mid-sized vehicles, will the similarly-sized TX-130 Saber-class tank - seen in the Star Wars: Clone Wars and Battlefront videogames - ever be made? The vehicle was even used for both Republic and Imperial troops in Battlefront II.
- Any chance of ever seeing the Ultra Battle Droid made that appears in the Clone Wars Adventures Volume 1 comic story Heavy Metal Jedi?
- Understanding you don't want to divulge specific figures, can you tell us how many (if any) figures in the 30th Anniv. line will have running-change variant figures, a la The Saga Collection Endor Rebel Soldiers?
- The images released of the 30th Anniv. wave 2 carded and loose Death Star Trooper show him coming with the standard E-11 Stormtrooper blaster, however in A New Hope these troopers are shown sporting the DH-17, the blaster most often used by the Rebels (this blaster is even represented in this same wave with the Rebel Honor Guard and Biggs figures). Will the Death Star Trooper figure ship with the correct DH-17 blaster or continue with the E-11 shown in the photo sample, and if it's the latter, why?
- In the past, figures have included interlocking bases that can create larger diorama pieces. Will we see more of these in the future?
- Any chance that Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast will get together and pack in WOTC's Star Wars minatures with Hasbro basic figures?
- Any chance that we could get a new Rancor, perhaps packed with a Dathomir Witch or Sith Witch instead of Luke?
- In recent years, many Darth Vader figures have included a silver piece of material around the neck to represent the chain that holds Vader's cape on. However, every time this feature has been included, the "chain" ends up looking too big and out-of-place, while Vader figures that do not include this chain end up looking much better. In the interest of accuracy, could the chain either be scaled down (to better match its look in Episodes III, V, and VI), or done as sculpted plastic (as on earlier incarnations), or simply left off (as in Episode IV) on future Darth Vader figures?
- In a future release, would it be possible to re-release Dannik Jerriko with the holes in his face (the ones caused by the removable proboscises) filled in?
- What are the chances of getting the Scorpenek Annihilator Droid from the New Essential Guide to Droids?
- With the excitement generated by Sideshow's 12" figure line, does Hasbro have any regrets about cancelling their 12" line, especially since it's clear that there is a strong market for high-quality 12" Star Wars figures? Did Hasbro recognize a deficiency in their 12" Star Wars product which didn't meet consumer's expectations of quality leading to a lack of success, and was that a chief factor behind the decision to end it? Is there anything that in hindsight Hasbro would have done differently with the 12" line to keep it in-house?
- With 2007 being focused on the 30th Anniversary Collection, what plans if any are being made for 2008?
- In the Betrayal on Felucia Battlepack, why wasn't the corrected or more movie accurate variation of Commander Bly with brown accents used?
- In the carded and loose sample photos for the upcoming ANH Ceremony Luke, the figure has Darth Vader's lightsaber hilt plugged into his belt? (The carded photo it's even clear-banded onto his waist.) Is this merely an example of sample images with the wrong accessories, or if not, why does Hasbro keep giving the incorrect lightsaber hilt accessories to some figures? The VTSC X-wing Pilot Luke also had the Vader hilt on his belt. At the very least, shouldn't you paint the incorrect saber to match the correct one?
- Will you ever be rereleasing the Geonosian Starfighter, perhaps as a repaint? The ship had only a small release in a non-movie line and could use a rerelease. If so, is there anything you can do to strengthen the droopy dual-nose issue? This is a great mold with a very nifty exclusive pilot figure, but that droopy nose thing detracts from this cool set.
- In the Ambush on Ilum Battlepack, the C-3PO figure is gold, but during this sequence in the Clone Wars cartoon he was the same gray colors he was in Attack of the Clones. Why was the figure chosen to be in the inaccurate gold? The vac-metallized gold costs more to make even so this seems to run counter to a main goal of the battle pack line. Will we see a running change in the correct colors, or will it stay wrong? If this is just another example of "it's what we had on hand", could you walk us through the decision-making process that ok's something inaccurate like this?
- Some collectors missed out on the Vintage-style figures and now must look to ebay and other wretched hives of scum and villainy for these fine figures. What is the likelihood of seeing any or all of those Vintage-style figures rereleased and getting more of collectors' money directly? (They'd prefer to give it to you rather than overpriced after-market guys.)
- Back in October, Hasbro told us "fear not about the last few of the Titanium Ultra vehicles..., they will be made available to fans after all, just not at mass retail. Look for details on that soon." Since they're not going to be mass-retail items, they won't be at Toy Fair, so are there any new details available yet?
- Will the Battle Droid Commander in the Saga Legends line have a backpack or just the antennas? And will we be getting a Geonosis Battle Droid Commander in the Saga Legends line like the regular colored Commander?
- Why do hologram figures come with weapons when they're almost never shown using weapons in the holograms in the movies?
- Now that we've seen photos of the new Jedi Luke figure with cloth vest, what can you tell us about him? Is it an all new sculpt? Is his Death Star 2 costume on underneath the vest, is the vest and outer belt removable? What accessories will he have? What are the chances of seeing him repacked without the vest?
- Concerning Titanium Series 3" repaints, will the Titanium AT-RT get another release with a green & brown repainted driver the way the repainted Clone Swamp Speeder did with its pilots? And will we be seeing the Titanium AOTC Jedi Starfighter repainted in all the color schemes the figure scale one has come in (Clone Wars teal, Saesee Tiin's, Kit Fisto's), the way it is currently slated for a Plo Koon repaint?
- The Galactic Heroes line has recently seen a release of multipacks where the package can double as a play enviroment, any chance of a similar multipack-as-play-environment concept being used for the Titanium Series 3" vehicle line? (ie: Trench run, Battle above Endor, Battle above Coruscant, etc.)
- The movie scene photo on the back of The Saga Collection #50 Naboo Soldier's card shows characters in red versions of the same uniform, was this considered for a variation during production, or perhaps will we be seeing it in an upcoming year?
- The Snowspeeder has only been an exclusive item in the past two releases for it where prior releases were regular mass-retail. Why the exclusivity and accompanying higher pricepoint on this vehicle? If it's due to its somewhat large size compared to other vehicles, could it be scaled down to accurate proportions (since it is actually a little too large as-is) and released in the $20 line?
- When Episode II came out, there was a big fuss made about Hasbro using Realscan technology as an advanced guide assisting in the sculpting process - especially for heads and accessories. In the 5 years after, how often has Realscan been used since then, how helpful has it been, what are some of the most common drawbacks when using it for you, and what is the figure or figure's accessory that is closest to the Realscansource data?
- Many fans feel that the Super Articulated Clone Trooper mold from the ROTS line is the best version of this figure, however there are several problems with the sculpt that continue to show up including: upside-down belt packs, one elbowpad strap smaller than the other, different-heights on the knee joints and a 1mm variance from the left to right upper leg leading to leaning figures, and an asymmetrical "cheek" sculpt on the helmet. Will these issues ever be addressed on future figures?
- Will Hasbro be re-releasing the straight sections of the cantina bar in the near future to coincide with the release of the curved end pieces coming out? If so, please consider re-releasing the blue Snaggletooth from the K-Mart exclusive as well.
- Last time we asked this question in October, you said " We won't be answering any more specific questions on the 2007 line at this time. However, she is definitely a possible future figure. Not out of the question." However, now that Toy Fair has come and gone, can you tell us what the odds are that we will see Yarna D'al Gargan in 2007?
- Will the moisture vaporator be available only with this upcoming Luke figure so those who want multiples of this accessory will need to buy multiple Lukes, or will there be other ways to get it in the foreseeable future? (One possibility is to reuse the accessory with Ep 2 Owen Lars, Beru Whitesun, and Cliegg Lars figures.)
- Will Academy outfit Biggs from wave 3 have his cape, and if not, why?
- Recently, several unique figures and accessories have been released in boxed sets (multi-packs, vehicles) - for example: Zev Senesca, removable-helmet Snowtrooper, white AT-RT Driver, the Geonosian energy binders, etc.. As many collectors who have been with the line for 12 years haven't wanted to purchase (for example) yet another Snowspeeder they already had just to get a new figure, have you given any thought to releasing these figures separately, either carded or as hasbrotoyshop.com exclusives?
- The Galactic Heroes line has really taken off with kids and collectors alike, however the most "kid-friendly" film in the saga - Ep I: The Phantom Menace - is heavily underrepresented with the only offerings being re-releases of the now-defunct Playskool line and 1 new Maul set. Characters like Jar Jar Binks, Sebulba, and Qui-Gon Jinn seem like obvious choices for the line. Will there be more Episode I offerings in the future?
- Since Boba Fett from the Holiday Special has now been revealed, and POTJ Zutton is actually taken from the Holiday Special as well, is there a possibility for other figures from the show, most notably the cantina scene?
- Why didn't the Kashyyyk Elite Corps Clone Trooper from The Saga Collection come with the long blaster rifle the figure is shown holding on the figure photo on the back of the card? That is the weapon the majority of this trooper sported in the movie, yet the figure only comes with the Biker Scout pistol and the Clone Trooper blaster pistol.Vote now, and feel free to add new questions too. Thanks for participating!

JT, do you think question #8 should be modified? We know they're not going to be releasing any brand new sculpts for a long time (if ever again), so should it be changed to asking if they have plans for Clone Wars creations from existing sculpts (like modifying the Clone body by adding Obi-Wan's head and a cloak)?

JT, do you think question #8 should be modified? We know they're not going to be releasing any brand new sculpts for a long time (if ever again), so should it be changed to asking if they have plans for Clone Wars creations from existing sculpts (like modifying the Clone body by adding Obi-Wan's head and a cloak)?I don't want to go that route, it's too specific and that's where Hasbro usually ends up burning us, the question can be applied to new sculpts or rehashing old molds, the ball will be in their court (should it ever get enough votes to be asked, or if the Unleashed line survives beyond next week).

Wasn't the first half of question 9 answered already (holiday figures)? They touched on it, but really didn't answer it definitively: Jan 12th
SWcollector.com: The past Holiday Edition figure sets, such as R2 and 3PO, Yoda, the Jawas, and then Vader, were great. Since the Vader didn't seem to sell that well, and wasn't very well received by many collectors, is that why the line has been canceled? Just a personal note, just because the Vader didn't sell well doesn't mean people don't want these Christmas figs. Maybe if the Vader would have been the one shown on the card enclosed, you probably would have sold out.
Hasbro: We have not pursued one for '06 or '07 simply because we didn't really find any concepts we felt strongly enough about to pursue (one of the reasons we tried something different with the red Holiday Vader). however, there will be a holiday pack in '07, but it won't be Christmas. Hmmm!

Alright, we're off and running. Thanks for the votes guys, keep 'em coming!

19, 24, 27, 35, and:
Many fans feel that the Super Articulated Clone Trooper mold from the ROTS line is the best version of this figure. However, there are several problems with the sculpt that are still being used, including: upside-down belt, elbow pads being the wrong size when viewed from the front (the right one is too large, the left one is too small), and poorly-done upper legs leading to leaning figures (as well as just looking bad all around). Will these problems ever be addressed on future figures?

I'll save a vote for later.

Also I have a new question for Hasbro:

"Any chance of re-releasing Anakin's Clone Wars Starfighter from the animated cartoon or perhaps even the Clone Starfighter from the same series?"

Due to Toy Fair, Hasbro may be pushing the schedule back on this Q&A 2 weeks, in which case I will simply extend the deadline in this thread.

Question 46 added.

Mr. JabbaJohnL, you have 1 vote left.

Will these problems ever be addressed on future figures? I cut the part about the elbow pads for now, you'll have to show me an example of this since they're the same size as each other on the toy. I also soft-sold the upper leg issue since I'm not convinced of it yet. However, I did add the asymmetrical helmet "cheeks". If you want to hit me up with some links showing what you mean with your examples, that'd be cool.

Also I have a new question for Hasbro:

"Any chance of re-releasing Anakin's Clone Wars Starfighter from the animated cartoon or perhaps even the Clone Starfighter from the same series?"Can you hit me up a link to the "Clone Starfighter"? I'm not aware of the vehicle and cannot find reference to it. If you mean the V-19 Torrent starfighter, LMK: http://www.starwars.com/databank/starship/v19torrent/index.html

I'll vote for 24 and 45.

Also wanted to ask about removing some questions... #'s 1, 3, and 6.

1. Playskool's Jedi Force is now Galactic Heroes. If the question ever got enough voted to be asked we would already know that Hasbro won't be doing any more ships of fig's. Modify the question maybe? Will we ever see ships in the GH line?

6. Pack-in hologram figs.... Having moved into the TAC, with the holo's disappearing from retail, I think its time to move on.

3.Fan's Choice figure development... Modify the question to ask to see stories and pic's for developing fig's that prove challenging [like a VOTC] (or a unique fig [Ephant Mon, Kitik Keedkak]).

thanks!

Modify the question maybe? Will we ever see ships in the GH line? This question was already on the bubble, so I'm thinking it's about time to go, I'll consider cutting it in the next round.

You're mistaken about that Playskool line, Jedi Force was the 6" chunky figures from '05, the '02 Playskool Star Wars line is now what's become Galactic Hereos.

We asked them about G Heroes vehicles and they answered a definitive "maybe". ;)

6. Pack-in hologram figs.... Having moved into the TAC, with the holo's disappearing from retail, I think its time to move on.I'm leaning towards agreeing with that and cutting it in the next round.

3.Fan's Choice figure development... Modify the question to ask to see stories and pic's for developing fig's that prove challenging [like a VOTC] (or a unique fig [Ephant Mon, Kitik Keedkak]).I'm not sure exactly what you mean, think you could mock up the question like you mean?

Another Question:

Back when the Original Jabbas Band members 2packs were released they were released as an exclusive. At that time I lived in a place with no Wal-Marts(NYC). Will they ever be released again as a non exclusive or possibly as a set similar to the Modal nodes?

Another Question:

Back when the Original Jabbas Band members 2packs were released they were released as an exclusive. At that time I lived in a place with no Wal-Marts(NYC). Will they ever be released again as a non exclusive or possibly as a set similar to the Modal nodes?
hasbro answered that:
Aug 4th
SWcollector.com: Is there any chance that the Max Rebo band or the entire Modal Nodes band could be released in 6 piece box sets as exclusives sometime?

Hasbro: The answer was revealed at Comic Con. The Modal Nodes (5 of them) are coming out this Fall in the Wal-Mart gift tin pack. As for the Max Rebo band, no plans right now but if this gift tin does well it's possible down the road that we'll look at Rebo.

Oct 22nd
SWcollector.com: Is there any chance we could see a re-release of the 3 3/4-inch Max Rebo Band next year, either single-carded, two-packs, or a multi-pack? -- Jason

Hasbro: Yes, there is a strong chance, but it has not been totally confirmed. But as a result of this, the Max Rebo band members will not be eligible for consideration in the Greatest Hits series for next year.

I hope next time they release Sy Snootles it is from the original ROTJ, not Special Edition. I'd also like them to make Max's instrument more complete.

New questions I'd like added for future rounds:

1. Now that we have seen some of what is coming for this year at Toy Fair, can you tell us whether there is any chance we will see Yarna in 2007?

2. Will the curved cantina bar pieces coming with the Nightlilly and Elis be adequate to form the curved section of the bar or will more bar sections be released with future figures or do you suggest people need to buy several of Nightlilly and Ellis just for the bar pieces?

3. Will the vaporator be available through other avenues or do people need to buy as many Lukes as they want vaporators? (Suggestion: Release Young Owen, Young Beru, and Cliegg Lars with vaporators.)

4. Will Academy Biggs have his cape and if not, why?

JediTricks, feel free to edit the questions as you always do. If they are too late for this round, please add them to the list for the next round.

Two new ones; I'll make two posts:

Recently, several unique figures and accessories have been released in multi-packs or with vehicles (for example, Zev Senesca, removeable-helmet Snowtrooper, white AT-RT Driver, and the Geonosian energy binders). As many collectors who have been collecting for 12 years haven't wanted to purchase, say, yet another Snowspeeder, have you given any thought to releasing these figures separately, either carded or as hasbrotoyshop.com exclusives?

Second new question. I know it's borderline character-specific, but please consider it anyway:

The Galactic Heroes line has really taken off, both with kids and adults. However, I can't help but notice that the most "kid-friendly" film, The Phantom Menace, is severely underrepresented, with the only offerings being re-releases of the now-defunct Playskool line. Characters like Jar Jar Binks, Sebulba, and Qui-Gon Jinn seem like shoo-ins for the line. Will there be more (ie, any) Episode I offerings in the future?

Questions 48-52 added.

Droid, you have 3 votes left.

Chux, you have 4 votes left.

I hope next time they release Sy Snootles it is from the original ROTJ, not Special Edition. I'd also like them to make Max's instrument more complete.Yeah, I totally agree about Sy, all they have to do with her is change the paint masks for the eyes and mouth really, the sculpt underneath can pull off the original puppet version ok. As for Max Rebo's red-ball keyboard, what's missing?

2. Will the curved cantina bar pieces coming with the Nightlilly and Elis be adequate to form the curved section of the bar or will more bar sections be released with future figures or do you suggest people need to buy several of Nightlilly and Ellis just for the bar pieces?I'm not adding this only because you can see each curve piece is a 90 degree piece in the Toy Fair coverage, so 2 would make a full 180 curve thus Elis Helrot and M'iiyoom Onith should be enough (with a piece in the middle).

Also, in the future, please don't number your new questions, it confuses my poor brain. :p

As for that question, I've added it but I get the feeling it's going to walk us into a Hasbro trap.

Feel free to strike the Yarna and Biggs questions. According to the blog over at Galactichunter, Hasbro is claiming Yarna is "not in the mix" for 2007 and will be a hard sell in the future. (See my post in the Yarna thread for some ranting.)

They also said Biggs wouldn't have a cape because no one caught it and there wasn't time to fix it. (Excuse me but there is not a single picture or clip of him in that outfit WITHOUT a cape. I have seen the still frames and cut scenes just like they have. Their answer is absurd.)

But why waste the questions if they already gave answers I hate.

Is there any way to make question 26 NOT EU? I was gonna vote for it until I saw that. We see the rancor with Luke and a Gam. Guard NOT EU carp. I'm not using this as an excuse to bash EU (like I really need one) but I seriously had to look up those carpy names to even know what they were and, like most EU, it was totally stupid. Just curious.

I'd like either a repack of the rancor alone or with Luke, Gam. Guard, or both.:)

Hey, JT. I wanna keep my votes the same but for the next round can I submit another question?

If so it goes like this:

Since Boba Fett from the Holiday Special is slated is there a possibility for other figures from the show most notably the cantina scene?

JT, post Slicker's question and add "particularly Bea Arthur with a CommTech Chip" in big, bold letters at the end.

(Okay, seriously, though, it might be a good idea to point out Zutton is from the Holiday Special as well.)

I am not sure I mentioned this before, but due to Toy Fair, we were told not to send questions in today, but to save them for next Friday, the 23rd.

So keep on voting, we could really use more votes on this stuff.

Question 53 added.

The Biggs thing is so stupid it's embarrassing if true, Hasbro really needs to stop getting themselves into these sorts of problems.

I'm not going to take that EU part out though, it's what the author intended for it. If you can think of a way to change the question or add a new one without stepping on those toes, feel free to give it a shot.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, JT, but here's (http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=/ROTS/rots0541clonefront.jpg) a pic of the clone. You can see how the left elbow pad/strap thing (in his actual elbow) is much thinner than the right. You can also see how the top of his legs are shaped differently, with the left one going up quite a bit more than the right.

JediTricks

Ok, thanks, I see what you mean about the elbows, it's not the pads it's the straps, they're going for a specific idea but it's still asymmetrical. As for the upper legs, I measured, there is a 1mm difference plus the knee joints aren't the same depth, so I added that.

I was talking to Slicker and came up with something brilliant:

Why not avert stocking problems with the 3 3/4" figures at retail and come up with totally different cardbacks (maybe even cardback sizes) for "Legacy" assortment figures versus the general basic collection, maybe even using a 3rd style for a military collection (clones, Naboo soldier headsculpt vairants and so forth)? When a retail stocker fills pegs with uniform cardbacked action figures, they aren't going to check which figure fits which SKU number. It might all look the same to them. It's understood why Luke, Anakin, and General Grievous amongst others must be kept available, but why sell less cases when the stock's not re-ordered because every 12 Darth Vaders suggest a full case is in stock, regardless of whatever SKU is fastened to the peg label?

Next new question:

Why didn't the Kashyyyk Elite Corps Clone Trooper come with the long rifle the figure is shown carrying on the picture of the same figure on the back of the card? That is also the weapon the majority of them fired in the movie.

Q: Would Hasbro consider changing the Greatest Hits-style line to have packaging different from the regular basic line, the cardback graphics being more different than they currently are, so both it and the regular line draw unique attention from each other?
A: We work with Lucasfilm very closely on the differentiation of each line. It's felt that a "family" look is more important than a different look, and that is why there are small changes between the two rathar than very large ones. This is likely to be the case next year for the 30th Greatest Hits line as well.
There's been other answers about stocking the greatest hits lines that have been equally unsatisfying, but this is the one about cardbacks.

I know a lot of you guys think they are genius masterminds, but I cannot picture any employee thinking there's a snowball's chance in hell that they're going to sell a second version of Biggs cutscene. :p

[11]- If Hasbro feels that mid-sized vehicles is the way to go, then will we be seeing more airspeeders and landspeeders in the forseeable future? Some of the airspeeders are pretty much snubfighter sized.

[30]- With the excitement generated by Sideshow's 12" figure line, does Hasbro have any regrets about cancelling their 12" line, especially since it's clear that there is a strong market for high-quality 12" Star Wars figures? Did Hasbro recognize a deficiency in their 12" Star Wars product which didn't meet consumer's expectations of quality leading to a lack of success, and was that a chief factor behind the decision to end it? Is there anything that in hindsight Hasbro would have done differently with the 12" line to keep it in-house?

[45]- When Episode II came out, there was a big fuss made about Hasbro using Realscan technology as an advanced guide assisting in the sculpting process - especially for heads and accessories. In the 5 years after, how often has Realscan been used since then, how helpful has it been, what are some of the most common drawbacks when using it for you, and what is the figure or figure's accessory that is closest to the Realscansource data?

[50]- Will Academy outfit Biggs from wave 3 have his cape, and if not, why?

[52]- The Galactic Heroes line has really taken off with kids and collectors alike, however the most "kid-friendly" film in the saga - Ep I: The Phantom Menace - is heavily underrepresented with the only offerings being re-releases of the now-defunct Playskool line and 1 new Maul set. Characters like Jar Jar Binks, Sebulba, and Qui-Gon Jinn seem like obvious choices for the line. Will there be more Episode I offerings in the future?

[54]- Why didn't the Kashyyyk Elite Corps Clone Trooper from The Saga Collection come with the long blaster rifle the figure is shown holding on the figure photo on the back of the card? That is the weapon the majority of this trooper sported in the movie, yet the figure only comes with the Biker Scout pistol and the Clone Trooper blaster pistol.

28 - In a future release, would it be possible to re-release Dannik Jerriko with the holes in his face (the ones caused by the removable proboscises) filled in?

43 - The movie scene photo on the back of The Saga Collection #50 Naboo Soldier's card shows characters in red versions of the same uniform, was this considered for a variation during production, or perhaps will we be seeing it in an upcoming year?

48 - Last time we asked this question in October, you said " We won't be answering any more specific questions on the 2007 line at this time. However, she is definitely a possible future figure. Not out of the question." However, now that Toy Fair has come and gone, can you tell us what the odds are that we will see Yarna D'al Gargan in 2007?

49 - Will the moisture vaporator be available only with this upcoming Luke figure so those who want multiples of this accessory will need to buy multiple Lukes, or will there be other ways to get it in the foreseeable future? (One possibility is to reuse the accessory with Ep 2 Owen Lars, Beru Whitesun, and Cliegg Lars figures.)

50 - Will Academy outfit Biggs from wave 3 have his cape, and if not, why?

51 - Recently, several unique figures and accessories have been released in boxed sets (multi-packs, vehicles) - for example: Zev Senesca, removable-helmet Snowtrooper, white AT-RT Driver, the Geonosian energy binders, etc.. As many collectors who have been with the line for 12 years haven't wanted to purchase (for example) yet another Snowspeeder they already had just to get a new figure, have you given any thought to releasing these figures separately, either carded or as hasbrotoyshop.com exclusives?
