View Full Version : Sideshow SW Diorama Series

Didn't see this one coming. Too rich for my blood, and to be honest, I really thought this would be either GG or MR's territory, not Sideshow's. 1:9 scale is an odd one, it's twice as big as Hasbro's figures so around the Unleashed size. I'll have to see these in person, there might be a few scenes if done right that at $50 I'd plunk down my coin to get. God, what a sucker I am!

So, according to your statement these arent made for the basic line then. If they wereI would get some of them. Still, cant wait to see what they look like.

1:9th scale is a 7.5" body, so no way they could interact with Hasbro's figures.

Thts not a good thing then. There are no 7" figs out there but Unleashed, and up to 300 bucks for a diplay for them isnt worth it.

I would hope that the more expensive ones are way bigger and include far more characters than the $50 ones. Luckily, all the greatest scenes I can think of in SW are only a couple characters in the scenes.

So, these will have figures with them? If so, that changes things for me.

I think the figures will be attached, so these will be big dioramas.

That's kinda what I got out of it. Almost like a poor mans Attakus diorama.

They're basically statues that look purty.

Well, the Attakus are not "action scenes" and scaled to a 4" figure line, this is more like Unleashed-deluxe I'd say (except unlike Unleashed, these will be from the movie :p)

You were all thinking the same way I am. Since Hasbro does not want to dealve into playsets, it would be nice if someone like Sideshow picked up the ball and ran with it. Sure, we would pay more, but think of the possibilities. I'm sure there would be licensing issues with Hasbro. We can still hope.

Well, unfortunately it seems like Attakus has the rights to do dioramas in 4" figure scale and their prices are way overboard for the likes of us non-millionaires.

Holy frijoles! $279 for a 2-person diorama, that's bonkers! http://www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=2202

It looks great, don't get me wrong, but it's only 14" cubed, it's not that big, for that price I could get a huge 1:4-scale Premium Format figure with fine cloth details.

Screw that carp. So would a $50 dollar one include a Jawa in the sand?

Probably a little more detail to the Sideshow sculpt, but remember the the Applause Episode 1 "Guardians of Peace" and "Duel of the Fates" dioramas in approximately the same size? http://starbase1.com/scripts/show_item.php4?id=43119&image=big

‘Look Sir, Droids’ Sandtrooper Enviorama

I wonder how much this will cost

I'm pretty stoked about the "Look Sir, Droids" Dio. I'm hoping its comperable in size and price to the "This is no cave" Dio. But I'm sold on this line. The only one I'm not getting is the Anakin vs Obi-Wan which is really cool having seen it at CIV but not cost wise and I dont have the space for it.

It looked really nice in person, Steve was kinda surprised the escape pod wasn't hollow inside though. I have a price for it in my notes so I'll try to post that when I get to that section.

Got my order placed for the "Look Sir, Droids" Dio. Cant wait to see what the next one is...

$70, but you already know that now. :p

"Envirorama" apparently, first Steve and then the Sideshow rep used the term, like we need more names for this stuff. ;)

I think a Galactic Senate interior with Sidious fighting Yoda on the podium would be sweet!

Just one of the many ideas I had.
