I just got the notice for processing today. It is hard for me to get my head around the fact that we will have this figure in 3 weeks when I have some I ordered 6 months ago and don't have yet. This makes me wonder if being able to get this figure ready ahead of the others made them use it for the Celebration Exclusive...or using it for the Celebration Exclusive made them hurry the figure.
Either way...like every other Sideshow offering...I am stoked about getting it!

I got my notice and it indicated that the accounts would be charged on Friday, May 3rd for C4 attendees. Thank God that's payday!

Got my notice as well. I am looking forward to picking up this figure without having to wait and worrying about not getting it (ie Hasbro's figs).
Thank the Maker for Pre Order! Let's me spend more time buying other Stuff!:D

Haven't had much time for anything but a quick look so far, but at this point I'd say that I'm very happy with this one. It looks great!
I'll try to get some pics and maybe a review up at some point.

Here's a quick shot to tide folks over til plasticfetish gets a review up...
I think he looks great!
(Please note: the saber hilt does NOT come with him....I used the "unlit" one from Anakin for display)

Here's a shot of Luke confronting someone outside the temple after the ceremony... :)

Nice pics JB. I have been messing with Luke on and off for a couple of days now. And I have decided to love the figure! But then, Sideshow is hard pressed to wrong in my book. I think the likeness is way better than it needs to be, the costume is better-made that even the other Sideshow Star Wars costumes. And I am every bit as happy to add him to my display as I was for any of the other figures.
My single complaint is:
There is nobody to display him with from that scene. We are serious;y needing ANH Han, Chewie, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Ceremonie Leia. Throw in a couple of Honor Guards, 50 or 60 Rebel Ceremony attendees...and we are in business!
The "sporting" blaster is great! Very well-made and looks great on Luke's side.
I wanted to get one to keep MIB on Monday...but by the time I took a greak from the booth I was working...the unclaimed ones had been sold out for an hour.
Looks like I'll be paying someone on eBay for one.

Thanks for the compliments Darth Cruel....I'd get on the waitlist at Sideshow before hitting ebay...I've always had good luck with that...better than a scalpy price on ebay.
Here's another shot of Luke with an old friend...enjoy.
(I know the Han is not the right "version", but they still look good together I think)

Lemme ask you guys who own this, does he look a little tan in the face? The samples I saw at CIV looked tan which was an odd contrast to their usually pale figures.

Yeah, he's more tan and his eyes are not blue like the proto.

I just got this, and I must admit that I'm none too pleased with this figure. The prototype on the box looks amazing in likeness. Problem is, this figure doesnt look much like the prototype. Its hard to tell if its the sculpt or just a shotty paint job.
After comparing the face to the Luke Jedi and Han Bespin, I am thinking that sideshow decided to go cheapo on the paint job. The paint on the face resembles something closer to a hasbro 12" figure with little blending, and has a very odd brown lining around the eyes which make them look more brown than blue. It looks incomplete and is very disappointing from a company that I thought put a lot of work into detail work.
I am very happy with all the other figures, and I hope this is an exception and wont become the norm for sideshow.

The sculpt looks solid to me from what I've seen, but the deco - since it's now confirmed he's tan and I believe that's a plastic dye issue - is what lets this one down.
I don't think you remember the 12" Hasbro Luke Ceremony's face though, he had lady makeup, it was embarrassing. :p
So, the brown in his eyes, is that just thick paint wash? I got the sense it was, it was meant to bring out the subtleties of the sculpt but they took it too far.

This is a perfect example of a decent sculpt somewhat let down by an overly simplistic paint application - this is a big step down from Jedi Luke....glad I passed on this one.
Now, if I could get 1:6 ANH Luke and Han this year - I will be in geek heaven!!!

Okay, here's pics...

I'm happy with this one to be honest. I like the head sculpt, the paint's as good as it gets (they're never as good as the prototype, but this one turned out just fine), and the clothes look and fit great.
Short review: 7.5 (maybe 8) out of 10.

The eyes are creepier every time I see them.
Cool pics PF, but you gotta shoot one more, nobody seems to be realizing this but Luke in that outfit in the movie has the lapels open wide, both the inner and outer ones - everybody seems to be leaving them folded up like on Jedi Luke.

Cool pics, but my main issue is the paint job...compare this to Jedi Luke - you will see a major difference; just look at the paint apps on the lips alone!

The paint job on mine is fine, except his eyes are deliberately brown while JK Luke's are blue. Musta been the bacta.......

These are really two different people... old nose and new nose Hamill, so I'm okay with some differences.
This Yavin Luke seems like more of an idealized version...

That's pretty much what you got right out of the box. Later on when I can put him out for display, I'll ge a chance to play some more. ;)
I really wish that Sideshow would maybe put out a costume kit for the Han figure... with vest, medal, etc. (would be great to change out the cra**y jacket anyway.)

I wouldn't want to put any ANH gear on ESB Han, they didn't just fail with that bolero jacket, he's got a puffy face and highwater pants, so he doesn't even look acceptable with the jacket removed.
