Congratulations!

I know what you mean about feeing outnumbered. We have 2 cats and both are female as well as 2 pet rats that are thankfully both female. I was really happy to find out our upcoming little one is a boy. Now it will only be 2 to 5.

Congratulations!

Watch the time fly! Mrs. TI7 and I just watched our son turn 18 and graduate from high school at the end of May. Poopy diapers, spit up, skinned knees, T-ball, first dates, all seem to happen within the blink of an eye! You'll see when you become an old f@rt like me.

Again, congrats!

BABY UPDATE!!!

Alright, most of you don't know this. My wife had the blood tests for screening all kind of crap that could be wrong with our baby a couple weeks ago. Well, the markers for Downs Syndrome came back positive. But that was not a final answer . . so there was no reason to worry and no reason to tell anyone. Well, we just got back from our meeting with the genetic counciler and had a more in-depth sonogram. They were looking for several "markers" that are common in Down Syndrome babies. Some are a short thigh bone, excess skin in between the back of the head and skull, etc. Well, after about an 1- 1 1/2 hours of sonogram it turns out that we have a healthy, normal (if you can believe that) baby BOY!!!

WOOT WOOT!!!!!

His name will be Ryan Christopher and according to my wife he's a mover! So everything looks good. The Doctor said there was no indication to her that this would be a downs syndrome baby, none of the markers were there. That takes our risk from 1 in 118 to 1 in 236, which is less then 1% that we could have a D.S. baby. Now its not something that we were really worried about. I said there's no use in worrying about something that we are not sure about. Which is also why we didn't tell anyone. So all looks good, we will go back in 10-12 week to make sure the placenta is up and out of the way but everything looks good!

and did I mention ITS A BOY!?!?!?! . . . . . . he he he . . . my wife says I have a perma-grin right now!!

And if, in 10-12 weeks, you find out the placenta hasn't moved enough yet, don't worry. My wife had a mild bit of placenta previa with our new guy, but it ended up moving just fine. Our guy just wasn't in a rush to do anything on the Dr.'s timetable (which explains why he was 10 days late.) I looked at it as another excuse for a great sonogram session (which is about as exciting as it gets.)

Congrats on all the great news!

Yeah . . and have him try to spell that name out in first grade. Heck my daughter had a problem spelling her own simple name and you want that??? Besides I think my wife would kill me for that!!

Not really worries about that at all honestly. I mean that's soething that not even the doctor is really worried about. she said usually it moves out of the way so no real concern. I mean I think we've had the biggest worry already.

Congrats Dar! Might I suggest the name "Barry"....it has a great ring to it. Besides there are many famous Barry's, Barry Goldwater, Barry Gibb, Barry Manilow, Barry Sanders, Barry White, and the jerk Barry, Barry Bonds, and then there is me, Barry TK-523 Imperial Stormtrooper! My son is also named Barry, as is my father.

Here's a few pics of Ryan. There are more on my MySpace page, www.myspace.com/darargol

The first is Ryan's Hospital photo, the next on is the Whole Argol Clan, the third is my little Padawan, and the last one is Big Sister Hailey and Ryan.

And no, Hank is not allowed back in the house until he cleans the "Its a friggin boy" sign he put up on the side of the house . . . I need to get him a hose . . .

The reason I am looking for the beanie buddy Yoda is because its the only Yoda plush that does not have any stringy white hair on his head . . . everything else I have found has this fluffy, stringy white hair . .

JediTricks
02-20-2008, 11:03 PM
It's ages 3+, probably because it's easy to be torn apart and the beads I suppose could cause a choking hazard.

Maybe you could snip the hair off a Yoda's head with no age restriction?
