Happy Parent's Day to all you parents out there!

I didn't know this day existed until I saw it in the paper this morning.

In 1994, Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law "recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children".

Is Hallmark on board with this? I've never seen any cards, nor have I ever heard any mention of this day until today.

SO.....consider this my card to you (for those who qualify).

Well KH, I guess that goes to show you how big a deal Parent's Day is. It's come and gone.

Thanks for the sentiments though. Like you, I'm glad to be a parent!

Oh, I'm glad to be a parent . . . but I was not aware that this new day for commercialism existed. Seems to me now they make a holiday out of anything. I'm still holding my breath for the monkey poo flinging day!

I doubt the Lewinskis sent him a Parents' Day card in thanks for rearing their child.

Hey, Caesar....what dictionary did you use? I couldn't find where a definition for "decorating" also meant "rearing".

You must have looked in The Book of Love, right?

I'm trying to understand this, they already have a Fathers day, and a mothers day, and a grandparents day. Are they trying to fill every day of the year with some sort of holiday? I mean I am proud to be a parent, but I don't need a card from my son to know he loves me.

BTW, I won my child support case. For those of you who are unaware, my son has been residing with me for almost 5 years now. During that time, his mother continued to get child support from me, because it was court ordered. She also has custody, which was the main reason I didn't have the support stopped. I feared that if I were to stop the support, and he returned to see his mom in Florida, she would not let him return the following school year. So I continued to pay, not a lot mind you, but she was getting money she didn't deserve. Now the woman is in jail, and I put on my big boy pants, went to court, and on July 20th, I got the support stopped. Now I go to court in August to get custody.

Except I haven't found but 1 figure from wave 3, whichis probbly good since I amso broke after court costs, leg surgery, and missing shifts because of surgery. But I would much rather get it done now.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall of my ex's cell when she finds out her free ride is over.
