I just read an article about Ringo's passing at newsarama.com (http://www.newsarama.com/Chicago_07/Ringo.html) and am shocked and saddened. If you've read any comics in the past 10-15 years, you know this man's wonderful work. And he truly deserved the often overused nickname of "nicest man in comics."

The wider world (sadly) won't even know, but comics has lost one of its giants.

Great artist. I guess the silver lining here is that thousands (if not millions) of people have seen his beautiful artwork, and have loved it. That's a great legacy to leave, even if it had to be at such a young age. :(

'RIP, 'Ringo.

Wow, that's terrible. I remember his work very fondly.

It almost sounds like his heart attack might have been a result of the heat wave and his faulty air conditioner. Probably a genetic heart condition that had nothing to do with his health or diet.
