Thanks to Figrin Bran's stashing, I have the following:

TAC Luke Jedi - an alright figure, and it somewhat works as it's supposed to, but there's something odd about the headsculpt and the cloth vest is a little too weird and the belt isn't removable.

Transformers Longarm - a particularly cool figure, awesome articulation and a great look, nifty in both modes and a good transformation scheme.

---

Finally picked up the white TSC Endor Trooper today, having passed on him so many times in the last year.

Also got two 25-cent plastic school-supply cases and a plastic 6-qt "shoe" box to help protect my PT figure accessories, mainly lightsabers, as they go into storage. Packing them with the figures would be ideal, but I've noticed that the lightsabers (and other long accessories for that matter) bend and might break.

Replenished my supply of zip-lock sammich, I mean figure bags, as I went through practically 200 of them over the weekend, putting loose PT figs into storage.

Is the lightsaber hilt actually molded to the belt or is separate?Separate, totally painted and removable, still the stupid POTJ Obi-Wan saber hilt though. But yeah, removable, and the figure looks good holding it up above his head (you can rotate the belt around so that part that holds it isn't facing forward).

a new cell phone. spiffy whizzy internetty connecty thingy one. Sony Ericsson K610i. Actually took as a contract deal. reasonably cheap contract deal too. I'm now firmly with the 21st century technology wise. it's got MP3 player, MSN messenger, video messaging, and all the malarky. Not the newest of phones in terms of phone advancements but a significant upgrade as far as I'm concerned. tis very neat.

UPS stopped by today and left a package with my new 2007 Halloween village pieces! I had to order online this year since local stores seemed to have cut back on their Halloween selections.

First up is this quartet of skeleton pirates enjoying their ill-gotten gains:
16033

I'm not going to display my usual large pirate scene this year. Instead, I've opted to do a western ghost town. I ordered a hotel/saloon, stagecoach, and a small pack of tombstones too so I'll be able to put together a small boot hill cemetery.

Check out the uber-cool Dry Gulch Hotel, with lights and sound. This hotel/saloon features moving parts, including an undead gunslinger who emerges from the swing-back doors:
16034

Also got this Haunted Stagecoach, which is perfect for creating an Old West town:
16035

A little Autumn set with fences, wagon wheels, corn shocks, pumpkins, and a straw bale:
16036

I got this piece, Dead Man's Mine, last year. It'll look great with the saloon, stagecoach, and boot hill cemetery.

Well, over the last few days I have hit multiple stores all with no avail until the last one I hit today. Out of 14 trips to Wm's, Kmarts, and Targets and 1 KB most of them only had nothing beyond wave 3 of figures. KB had 4 figures all of them TSC and one WM had about 27 TSC figs only. 2 packs of Battle Droids
2 501st Troops
Boba Fett

Walked into a Walmart this afternoon at about 1:00PM, and at first I was dissapointed by seeing all the pegs filled to the edge with Legends. I did notice one or two 501st troopers but didn't buy any. But there...laying on top of some other toys right beside was...yes! Wave five figures!

Tatoo Anakin
McQuarrie Starkiller
Yoda and Kybuck

walked a little farther and on an endcap was:

Pre-Cyborg Grievous
McQuarrie Darth Vader
Roron Corobb
C-3PO & Salacious Crumb
Hermie Odle
Darth Revan
Darth Malak
Legends Red Battledroids two-pack....not to fond of Legends, but this one has one droid with battle dammage, so technically he's a repaint, and I don't have enough red droids for any Genosian Arena display.

I don't know, looking at this awsome complete Wave 5, almost restores my faith in Hasbro.

BTW: Watch them endcaps.

TAC Elis Helrot - alright, nothing special, sculpt's a little soft and head's a little fat, but it's clear who it's supposed to be. The curved base looks alright but doesn't integrate quite as well as it should with the original straight sections. Elis' head is on a weird ball joint, even though the design means he can't look up or down, they went with a ball joint and now his head comes off too easily. Grade: C+

AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
AC/DC Highway to Hell
AC/DC Back in Black - figured it was time to own these on CD since they were pretty cheap on Amazon. Bon Scott rules, I can't imagine where he'd be if he was alive today though. Brian Johnson has some chops but everything he does is so much more corporate-sounding, a la Van Halen.

Concept Grievous x2 - way overpriced, but a decent figure, good articulation and design. I would have liked to see a tighter sculpt and more paint and detailing - especially with the head. Not sure what they were thinking with the accessories, both are kinda oddball pieces. Nice size, ok (if non-removable) cape, removable chest plate isn't too bad neither.

Because I'm a Grindhouse junkie.

And I'm not afraid to double dip on certain occasions, especially since a complete Grindhouse DVD set hasn't even been confirmed yet. The only thing I don't understand is why we have to wait another month for the Planet Terror DVD.

Else I will come to your house, stand in your yard, and blast "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" over and over on my boombox.I'm not rich foo', you planning to send me a copy for free? No? Didn't think so. My choice was 3 albums, if High Voltage had been one of them I would have had to pay for shipping and then I'd have no albums because that would have cracked my budget (Back in Black was a little more and kicked me into $25 territory). So the choice was HV or Dirty Deeds, and I like the latter better.

And since I don't have a yard, you'll have to stand in the street and pull your Say Anything move - I don't live in a streetside apartment though so you better bring a loud boombox. :p

TAC Umpass-Stay - I didn't think I'd want this figure, I hate the SE band, but he is executed pretty well, lots of paint and sculpt detail, he'll fit in with that crowd even without being a drummer. The bent-knee pose is stupid and makes good poses difficult or impossible (he can stand on his own though thanks to ankle articulation, but I wish it went further forward). His belt has a clip in the back for the drum striker, kinda funny. The loose chest armor is a little bothersome but manageable. He actually doesn't look all that great drumming I think, but he's an ok figure in general.

Quinlan Vos/Vilmarh Grahrk Comics 2pack - an alright set that's been overhyped. I don't care diddly about the characters, but you've got a lightsaber and holstered blasters, and it generally looks decent. I do have to take issue with a lack of ankle articulation here, without ankle articulation a figure is really limited - knees are helpful too but the reality is that the ankles are what give a figure its true mobility. Sculpting and paint are decent though I had to be incredibly choosy on the paint, the other 3 sets I saw were abysmal there. The comic is a good choice for Villie, but doesn't represent this Quinlan figure at all - also, Villie is drawn 2 different ways in the comic, split 50/50 between the leaner version that the figure looks like and a beefier one that thankfully Hasbro avoided since it feels all wrong.

Transformers Payload - not the greatest but not shabby either. Decent vehicle mode, interesting transformation, alright bot mode. The rod out the back is pretty lame, but the gimmick's not bad and he's got a lot of detail.

Saga Legends Boba Fett - VOTC Fett returns triumphantly. Loose in the waist but otherwise nifty.

TAC Luke Jedi - I had to know if cutting his waist peg down would close the gap in his torso... it didn't. But if I can find an acceptable belt, he'll be a decent DS2 Luke.

POTC3 Human Davy Jones - decent pirate figure, that's all I care about. I like his worn sword, they did a good job with that. Figure's got a lot of detail, non-removable coat & hat though. With him and Jack and Barbossa, my Black Pearl has too many captain-lookin' pirates, but I'll figure something out.

Double-H Engineer Boots - a belated birthday present, replacing my old boots of the same make and model, only without the heavy steel toe which I just don't need anymore. Double-H has upped the quality of the leather, the buckles, and the insoles, yet the price is only $30 more than what I paid 13 years ago.

Its the same as the 2 disc Extended/Unrated version, like this one here (http://www.amazon.com/Grindhouse-Presents-Death-Proof-Extended/dp/B000R7HY0K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-2010129-9088865?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1190166541&sr=8-1), but in an exclusive (to Best Buy) Steelbook packaging. So its nothing real special, just the packaging, which I happen to be a big fan of (Steelbooks). Haven't check out any of the content, hell, I haven't even opened it yet.

Correction: The BB Steelbook does include a 3rd bonus disc as well.

At Hasbro Toy Shop: I ordered two packs of the 30th anniversary stands for all the loose figures I anticipate, and ones that need stand now (probably should have ordered more) That's 80 stands though.

Also got two Legends Pit Droids. First time I've seen these for sale anywhere and I barely got any during Episode 1.

That's four items with less than 5.00 shipping, so it's not too bad.

Lots of "coming soon" figures from wave four and five, so I'll definitely keep checking back.

For the first time up around these parts, I have seen Elis Herlot, Miiyoom Onith and Umpass-stay, hang around with regularity.

Still haven't seen a McQuarrie Fett, Chewbacca or CZ-4 droid.

Amazon got my stuff out pretty quick...

TAC M'iiyoom Onith - yeah, I bought this figure for the corner piece to the bar, I'm a sucker. Figure's a lame entry based on a nothing alien from the films, Hasbro does an alright job with the headsculpt and paint, but then blows it all to hell by making a plastic skirt that won't let the figure sit down at all. Disappointing, boring, background fodder.

TAC Han Torture - a turd sandwich. The torture rack is ok but a little lacking in actual torture implements. Han is an embarrassment, the head sculpt is all wrong and too expressive and doesn't look like him. The lower body is a remold of the Vintage-style Han legs which is about 35% smaller in scale than the upper body (which also looks bigger thanks to a separate plastic jacket piece). The mid-torso is way too long and the joint is incredibly sloppy, unusable without looking terrible. This set is almost a total failure.

TAC 4-LOM - a decent version but not a blow-my-socks-off one. The new articulation is all very slick, especially the shoulder-to-upper-arm collars, they gotta use that on 3PO soon! Paint is good. Weapon is boring but not at all gummy for once. My real issue is that they went soft with the sculpting, it's not bad but it's not up to the quality we've been getting the last few years with droids. It's at least a "B" grade fig though.

and at Target, I found 1 new Transformer...

TF Dropkick - very nifty. Great truck mode, clever transformation, nice bot mode. The only thing I don't dig are the giant slide-out pliers weapon - wtf is that? Looks doofy. Head's a little odd but not terrible. All in all, a very satisfying entry.
