Yeah, I'm digging those pilots. Hobbie's not the one I would've picked, but nice-looking figure.

I'm not sold on the Anakin/Assassin Droid yet. I'll wait to see it in person. The droid might be quirky enough to get.

Koffi and Bultar, well, I was going to get it until Hasbro revealed there's a movie-accurate Bultar next year. Plus, I don't think the costume on this figure is even exactly accurate to the Purge comic. (I seem to recall her wearing more armor.) So I'll probably pass on that.

Im digging it, though i think there could have been better choices in the line, though im liking Hobbie and Baron, though i think Hobbie should have been in the movie lines since he was in the movie, they could have used this to make a character not in the movies. The Assasin Droid, is whats keeping me interested in this set, as another Anakin might not be what we wanted for the betterment of EU... As for Bultar, and Koffi, im cool with it, but again i think Koffi should have been someone else, this wave really looks like it was thrown together really quick.

I'm going to buy several of the Hobbie / Baron Fel comic packs. That's a very nice one and Fel will go great with my 181st TIE Interceptor.

Now is Hobbie wearing the right helmet? I don't know if you can point him out in ESB specifically (the helmet would be the same in spite of snowspeeder gear). But I'll have to check my comics. Still, I'm very excited for this one.

I don't know if I'll buy Anakin and the droid. With Koffi, I might have totally chosen a different character. And yeah, with a regular movie version of Baltar Swan coming out in the Evolutions line, I might pass on this one, too. Not sure. That Force Unleashed Vader looks great and I have to have it, along with some characters to fight him. Thus I might buy this afterall.

Koffi Arana seems like he belongs more in Mortal Kombat than SW. Bultar's alright, thankfully we're getting the AOTC one next year.

I like how Anakin has some elements from both AOTC and ROTS, but I don't like the pouty face. The droid is pretty cool.

I like the pilots, but I'm tired of seeing the Dutch Vander sculpt everywhere. I'd also rather have an ESB Hobbie first, but whatever; hopefully they'll put his head on the Zev body soon.

I can't for the life of me remember the names of the dudes in the stormtrooper armor, but they look okay. At the very least, it's another stormtrooper (and another stormtrooper with green hands).

I love the Commando/SBD set. Nice repaints/slight retools (if the SBD doesn't have the holes, as the pictures are suggesting).

Luke and Deena Shan are okay; I don't like how they used the Ozzel sculpt for Luke with the choking hands, though.

Most of these look pretty cool. I have no idea who Koffi Arana is, and Bultar Swan is merely a familiar name, so y'all can have those. But Hobie and Baron Fel... Luke and the Imperial lady officer... those 2-packs are MUST HAVES.

Put me down for:
X4 Anakin Skywalker and Assassin Droid (I prolly won't need the extra Anakin's so off to the donation bin they'll go. But I'll have to see them in person before I make that final decision.) It's really the droids I want.
X1 Baron Fel and Derek "Hobbie" Klivian-Okay, I'll bite. I'm only going to get one of the 181st Interceptors, so I don't need any extra Fel's and the pilot that comes with the ship will act as the mechanic.
X1 Star Wars Purge with Koffi Arana and Bultar Swan-a meh set. But there is custom potential for Bultar. But I much prefer the movie accurate one.

hmmm...I find it ironic....

When I complained about 2 Bultar Swan's being released in the same year, people bashed me...

Now....many of you are passing on this one....

Well, its an easy pass since most of us are getting the Evolutions pack with the figure in it. If she was packed with a better figure in the comic pack, or if the Evolutions wasnt coming out, I wouldnt pass on it.

That TIE Pilot is interesting for the removable helmet (even though it's ridiculously undersized), but what is the deal with that silly flightsuit?:stupid:

Keep in mind that Tycho thinks Michael Bay is cool as well. :D

Now having said that, even though I've no plans whatsoever to get Fel's Interceptor, I will get the set that he comes in.

But his had built in blasters.

I wonder how that helmet and chest box will look on the Imperial Gunner figure? Looks like a potentially easy custom to create a removable helmet TIE Pilot.

I'll vouch for Baron Fel. He is cool. Hopefully, if they make more good EU figures (aside from popping Luke's head on Ozzel's body), we can get his son, Jag, eventually.

The pilots will be the hot one of this wave...can't wait!

The Ani / Droid set looks good although while the weathering and ragged conditon of his oufit looks well-done, that head sculpt is pretty hideous...almost as bad as the SW30 farmboy Luke...

The "Purge" set looks cool (and I really love that comic) but I wish the other figure was the little jedi guy (name escapes me right now) instead of Koffi (sp?)...he's just outside the "look" of SW to me but I'm sure he'll look cool "in person"...

The two rebel pilots in ST gear look good...especially the Duros...

The clone and the SBD....man, I hope that picture is an accurate rep of how the SBD is going to look...is it possible that we are FINALLY going to see an SBD that is the CORRECT gunmetal gray in appearance? I hope so...

You guys have Wave 4 and Wave 5 of the comic packs combined.

Wave 4 is

Baron Fel & Hobbie
Koffi & Baltar
Luke and Lt. Shan in Imperial officer uniforms

Wave 5 is

Anakin & Super Jabiim War Droid
Clone Commando & Super Battle Droid
The two Rebels (Mouse is the Duro) in Stormtrooper outfits

Wave 4 us on time for retailers. Entertainment Earth might have ordered cases with Wave 5 in it as well, so that's why they're not getting it in sooner. But the comic 2-packs are moving well at retail, so there's no reason to think Target and Wal-Mart won't get Wave 4 in this fall.

The little Jedi from "Purge" is Master Tsui Choi, and his species were seen walking out of the Podrace in TPM as well. I think the TF "pickup droids" were modeled after that species, too. Tsui Choi is rumored that his figure is being made. He appeared in Jedi Council: Acts of War a prequel to TPM, and that could be his comic 2-pack (Wave 6?) His padawan was killed, but he was a one of Senator Graxxol's giant species (Watto's Box Set anyone?) K'Kruhk, the infamous Whipid Jedi might also go in an Acts of War 2-pack. That was his first appearance. His Jedi Master, a blonde human female (Lillit TwoSeas) was killed in that comic as well. Villie (Vilmah Grahrk) was working with the Sith (though he didn't know that for sure) and arranged a battle that killed some Jedi and also saw a seat open on the High Council that Ki-Adi Mundi gained just before the movie. Anyway, an "Acts of War 2-pack" with K'Kruhk and Tsui Choi would be a cool set to do.

Main characters from that comic featured Mace, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, Plo Koon, SaeSee Tiin, Adi Gallia, and Eth Koth - and as I mentioned before, Villie.

I'm pretty sure Anakin and the Droid is Wave 4, and Luke and Shan are Wave 5. ;)

That might make sense to not have too many Separatist war droids in one wave to make for more variety.

However, that puts the two "Empire" comic packs in the same wave. If you're not a big fan of that storyline (it was ho-hum in my opinion), it's kind of risky. Don't you think?

But then there isn't a Luke in 2 waves back-to-back. However, there was in Wave 2 and Wave 3 (Marvel Luke Trooper, HTTE Escaped-Prisoner-Pilot Luke).

Some of the new packs are OUT. I bought the Fel/Hobbie one at WM this morning. I passed on the Bultar one and the Anakin/Droid one, but they honestly all look awesome and are great additions to this superb subline of Star Wars figures. Can't wait to get a free minute or two at work to open up the Pilots!

I found all of the wave 4 packs at WM over the weekend.

The only problem with Baron Fel is that he's so monstrously huge. While I haven't compared them, it seems he's around the height of ROTS Bail.

Stil haven't seen anay from this wave yet.

Grr, with these, wvs7, 7.5 (maybe), 8, Target exclusive sets, other vehicles, etc., it's beginning to become overwhelming the amount of product that's going to be available in short order.

For the first time it may be a bit hard to keep up on all of it.

Fel IS very tall... as tall as the Motti and VOTC Vader figures. He is quite a bit taller than the OTC TIE Pilot. But in the comic at least, Fel looks to be a big man. The only real complaints I have with him are the lack of a goatee (he has one in the comic); his shoulders seem, well, bulbous, due I suppose to the joint articulation there; and the helmet seems a tad too small in porportion to his body. Otherwise it's a stellar figure.

Hobbie is fine, another use of the workhorse Vander mold. The arrangement of the air hose is slightly different than on other figures using this mold (it is also black, unlike the others, which are grey), the orange of the flightsuit seems slightly more subdued, he wears a black belt instead of a brown one, and the head has the inner flightsuit sculpted on (which is nice, IMO).

Tycho
11-14-2007, 12:52 PM
Hobbie's helmet is wrong, however. He should have 1 BLUE Rebel insignia symbol on either side of the crest. Instead, he's wearing Dutch's helmet which was lost along with Dutch and his whole Y-wing over the Death Star in the Battle of Yavin.

I've posted the suggestion that we ask Hasbro what happened to Fel's goatee in the ask-Hasbro questions we all vote on. Basically speaking, Fel is an excellent figure. You could use a sharpee to give him a goatee was well. There is one comic book cover appearance of him without it - I guess he shaved it off that day. But Hasbro didn't box him with that picture, but chose his signature look with the goatee instead.

Finally, I think the TIE Fighter Pilot figures (Saga II/ OTC, Interceptor Pack-in) are the figures that are undersized. I'm used to the multiple POTF2 figures I bought way back in 1996 and they all took their steroids.

I found the Anakin/Assasin, Koffi/Bultar, and Fel/Hobbie sets tonight. But I passed on the latter two opting to get several Anakin Assasin sets for the droid.

(I have extra Anakin's if anyone wants to trade/buy them from me.)

I don't think I'm going to buy the Koffi set. The figures are ridiculous. I'm just not into that storyline, so it's a fairly easy pass for me.

As far as the Fell set goes, I guess I'll eventually get it, but heck I haven't even got the 181st Interceptor yet, so I'm not in a rush for the Fel. I do want the Hobbie figure though, so it's only a matter of time before I pick that set up.

The only problem with Baron Fel is that he's so monstrously huge. While I haven't compared them, it seems he's around the height of ROTS Bail.

You're right about him being "huge." And look at those shoulders. They look like his arms are dangling from two soft balls. Baron Fel has Balco written all over him; he better hope the feds don't indict him.

I've passed on the other two comic packs and will continue to. Two days ago I got an honest to god chuckle when I looked at a Bultar swan with the weirdest looking eyes. They were painted on really weird. Even the texture of the paint around the eyes looked bizarre.

picked up all 3 last week. Love the Baron Fel / Hobbie set. the Anakin / Assassin Droid is pretty neat but was disappointed with Swan and Koffi, especially Koffi. I wish the wound was bigger so that the sword actually pierced into him and not just dangled by the tip.

really hope the Hasbro re-packs the Assassin Droid for army builders.

Heh, or you can just pick the comic pack set up with the Assassin droid and sell off cheap the Anakins. That's what I did. I sold the three Anakins I had extra for $4 each, so t brought the price down on the Assassins to that of a price of a regular figure now.

Try it DA. I'm certain there are enough people who will want the Anakins if not for him, then for custom fodder. $4 is a fair price too. The anakin figure is actually a fairly decent fig and worth $4-5.

The Assassin Droid is really nice. With 13 points of articulation (if you include his "Predator" shoulder gun that moves)
They really did a nice job on him.
I bought an extra to open, but am planning on getting more too for a squad of them.
Too bad we can't get some of those Padwans that get wiped out.
