Sorry to barge in. I am basically a lurker, but I have been looking for that new Cars 400 set! Can you tell me the UPC or the Target code from your receipt?? I want to see if they have them at any of the San Gabriel Valley stores yet.

Just got my figures from last weeks sudden spurt of figures at Amazon.

General McQuarrie
Lando Smuggler
Han Solo Torture
4-Lom
The last two cards were majorly bent by an over zealous air-bag packer (I hate those things) so I just opened 4-Lom.

4-Lom, man is he cool or what! The paint on him is done very well.
14 points of articulation, he will go good next to Vintage Bossk.
His rifle is sharply detailed also.
They need to use this type of body for maybe a beige Clone Wars C3PO.
I wonder what his space vehicle looks like? as he could definitely sit in it.
One of my favorite figures so far.

Also received my two Legends Pit Droids from HTS.
They are not red like the picture when I ordered  but rather the off-white ones. Oh well, is ok.
2 packs of action figure stands. I used one "Empire Strikes Back" with the 4-Lom label provided. Kinda cool to go through the process of opening the figure with a razor blade to save the cool although bent card for the art work alone,
taking the coin out, putting it in the coin book,
then searching for an ESB stand and then 4-Lom's label and putting on the stand, then placing 4-Lom there.
I could see where this could be an enjoyble process for a kid or collector.

Opening a cool figure and not being dissapointed sure helps.

One of the perks at work is when we sell a movie package(HBO, Max, Starz, Showtime) we get a <movie> Buck. HBO and Max count for HBO Bucks. Each company has a "store" set up with things in it. I got a Star Wars Fleece Blanket for 40 HBO/Max Bucks. I have gotten countless DVD's from Starz and Shotime just sucks with there stuff. But They were 30 HBO bucks each for season 1 and 2, so I cashed my stuff in. Still have about 100 to spend but nothing good.

Dethalbum deluxe edition - Metalocalypse is among my favorite shows on TV right now, and this album is not only a great slice of that, but it's also an amazing metal album in its own rite. Brendon Small does nearly everything on this album except drums, and it's hard to believe anybody could rock that hard! The deluxe sold out in a day, so I am very grateful I was able to get it. I've listened to it a LOT in the past week, just a great metal album and the lyrics are funny stuff without being goofy.

Metalocalypse season 1 DVD - Amazon, once again late, finally delivered this gem. I can't wait to watch this.

Funny. I'd placed several orders with Amazon over the past few months for things that aren't out yet. I tend to throw a book or two on with them, to keep reading material coming, but not to get overloaded with them. (And to get free shipping.) Funny thing is, though, in the past week, I've gotten five shipping confirmations, because they just randomly decided to ship everything they could from these orders.

It's a little annoying, because it means I have more books than I can read at once (not a problem, but why pay for them now if you can't read 'em for a month?), and my wife probably thinks I just suddenly went on this spree since I'm getting a box or two every day.

SWTF Darth Vader / Death Star - I'm glad I didn't spend full price on this, it's a $50 box but only a $40 figure. It's not a bad figure either, just not justifying that oversized box and price. This is a shellmaster, it doesn't pretend to be anything else, and it's got a silly simple transformation. However, the electronics are surprisingly entertaining - the superlaser dish and missile lights up, there's a ton of fake-Vader lines (a fair imitation though), and the right fist lights up the removable lightsaber accessory. Death Star mode is fairly decent, a total sphere. Bot mode is a good size and surprisingly poseable, big kibble on the backpack shoulderpads though. The chest lights up when he talks, it's BLINDING! His gun is a chibi stormtrooper blaster which fires a missile. I'd give it a "B".

The Metalocalypse DVD was a little disappointing, I am glad to have the eps but the extras are all hidden clips in the main menu (and episode menu on the 2nd disc) and there's no making-or or commentaries or anything good like that, too bare-bones.

I just saw those Gi Joes at a Walmart as they were stocking them while looking for SW figs.
I went back to the same Walmart later that day, and every one of them were gone.

I would have to agree i think these look great, not all of them but most of them. It also brings up another question. Why are the G I Joes only 4.88 when Star Wars figures are pushing 7.00. There is not that much difference, I mean I don't believe they use different plastic. The Joes have better joints. If the thing that is causing the Star Wars figure to be 7.00 is the coin then they can keep it.

I believe it's a license fee to Lucasfilm for Star Wars, and price gouging on top. To clear a profit.

They must have lowered the GI Joe price recently. It has been $5.99 or $6.99 at Target, TRU & KB Toys. I have been collecting them, and I haven't seen any at $4.88. I'll have to check Walmart, though they are far out of my way.

General McQuarrie x2 - Looks good, but too happy. Head is designed without the figure in mind, they put long hair in the back and it runs right into the outfit collar - great job foo's! Using the Major Derlin body plus the VTAC Han Hoth hat was a bad decision, but it's still nice to have a figure of the guy.

I didn't think Fett was HTF either. I've seen several silver coin and even the UGH versions once or twice. I wish Hasbro would've resculpted him in the Holiday Special or DROIDS cartoon style. Man, I'd been all over that like Oprah on a ham.

El Chuxter
10-16-2007, 12:27 PM
I dunno. I've seen him once (but the same goes for Waves 4-6, aside from one second sighting of a Miyoom). I was just judging from the way the discussion has gone about him.

If they were making more Holiday Special figures, I'd get him. But Hasbro has absolutely confirmed they will not make more. I wonder if they realized when they said it that that could potentially hurt sales of Animated Boba?

Managed to win a GI Joe 25th ann. Sargent Stalker Yellow variant yesterday on eBay. (ouch-double-ouch!) people are going nuts over this Hasbro mistake!

That, and the Snake Eyes with black Timber (dog) which I luckily found at retail.

The only other one I would like to get is the SDCC Destro in Pimp outfit with Gold head which is going for $150 + :ninja:

Guess I won't be getting him anytime soon, though I did get the silver head one.

The Cobra Legions 5-pack is showing up at retail. Gotta get that.
Adam Pawlus (is it?) over at Galactic Hunter used the Boba Fett flames from the Saga one on a Cobra Soldier w/ jet-pack, and it fit perfectly- looks awsome! (see GL Q&A) http://www.galactichunter.com/q_and_a/flamesback-full.jpg http://www.galactichunter.com/q_and_a/flamesfront-full.jpg

Naturally I get Bumblebee 08 just days before finding the BB 2pack at Target, on sale no less.

Transformers Evolution of a Hero 2-pack - Bumblebee, meet Bumblebee. Movie classic Camaro and movie concept Camaro in 1 set, both in vehicle mode under a big bubble. BB76 looks pretty much the same in alt mode, while BB08 has been battle-worn (despite never being seen in the film with this kind of damage in alt mode) with a lot of paint.

Superman doesn't need a vehicle.
It doesn't stop toy companies from making them for him.

It doesn't stop toy companies from making them for him.

Superman needs a motor-cycle. If Hasbro had the rights, we would see that I'm sure.

Went to Target and got the Transformers transforming DVD pack.
You also get a free transforming gift card for $5 off, so that makes the DVD the same price as the regular one which was empty on the racks. How sweet is that?
I also bought that Target Bumblebee two-pack, after buying the single-pack the day before. At least the single-pack one is slightly different paint than the two-pack.
Rounding out my Transformer purchases, I bought a few of the Titanium Transformers. Jazz, Megatron, Optimus, Ratchet, Ironhide, Blackout, and Bumblebee. (who am I missing in the movie sculpt?) The Titaniums were on sale at 4.99.

Somebody needs to make the Transformers vehicles in die-cast.
I would love it if Johnny Lightning did some "Hollywood on Wheels" versions of that 73 Camaro and Concept Camaro. A die-cast Optimus Peterbuilt semi-truck, and of course the Mustang Cop car, would be sweet!

This weekend while in Eastern Washington pheasant hunting, I stopped at the Wal-Mart in Othello (population...120?) Gold mine.

They had tons of UGHs (grabbed a Luke, Han and McStormie) and McQuarries (grabbed a spare Vader.) They had lots of wave 4, some Wave 6 and about 8 Holiday Fetts. It was fun to see so many TAC figs on a peg at once. Hardly any Legends clogging. They also had a bunch of GOOD Saga 2006, like the Wal-Mart wave, Firespeeder Pilot and 2 Scorches. Initially I had like 10 figures in my basket, then came to my senses.

Love the UGHs -- they look great. I now have 5 total. If I could find the two Fetts, I would call it good.

Spider-Man 3 Black Cat - alright but not as good as I was hoping, too chesty and not quite enough articulation in the arms. Worst part is wide-open eyes though, creepy.

SM3 Acrobatics Spidey - the one holding onto a webline in each hand, he's got some charm but probably not going to be very likable for most.

SM3 Shocker - pretty decent actually, good sculpt and coloring and articulation. I would have liked shockblasts for his actual wrists rather than oversized missile-launchers, but they have their own charm.

SM3 Scorpion (2) - looks like a Cobra reject rather than Scorpion, and not really as big as he should be, but an alright guy for Spidey to whomp.

SDCC Indiana Jones coin - I finally met darkagent and completed this trade that I had been putting off for nearly 3 months. :p Cool piece, the hat, whip, and "I" and "J" on the back are cute.

TAC Roron Corobb - bought this thinking someone I knew wanted it, they didn't, now I am either going to get it to someone who wants it or return it to the store 'cause I don't care about him.

SL R4-I9 - looks good, not quite the right details but close enough, I think this is my favorite Death Star astromech.

SL Sandtrooper (orange) - sloppy, underwhelming weathering paint but I really wanted that orange pauldron. Darkagent later pointed out to me that his sticker incorrectly says "fan's choice" (singular) and I noticed R4-I9's is correct - silly fools!

SL Clone Commander (correct weapon) - I got suckered in by the metal-weathered paint on the gun and pauldron, both of which are a tad over the top. It's an ok figure, I never got the original set, but I hate that the pauldron makes the helmet not fit. The paint on mine is super sloppy, the visor is off and the torso is heavily weathered nearly beige while the arms are nearly white, it's odd.

TAC CZ-4 - Met Chaddy too, it's one of the things I got from him and it's nifty, they pretty much did everything they could wit this guy. A limited interest item, kids won't know what to make of him, but goes well in the background of Tatooine settings.

TAC Concept Vader - looks really good, though I don't get the fabric "chain" on the cape when the drawing has no such design, foolish designers. I must confess, haven't opened it yet, it looks so good.

TAC UGH Animated Fett - Chaddy didn't want it and I didn't have any UGHs, so I took it off his hands. :p A cool set, I doubt I would have bought it without the UGH factor though, I just have so many Fetts around here already. 5 minutes after seeing Chaddy, my car broke down. :p

I park, he immediately tells me to reverse - I can reverse no prob in the street, but I'm at the damn curb I wasn't expecting, I start backing up and snag the curb after about 8 feet, but I keep it going and it was only a point off instead of one of the deal-breaker crucials.

Man did I hate taking it at that location, and they had me wait 45 minutes in the car line for a tester in the heat so I ended up taking the test at rush hour instead of just before. I had wanted to take it at Glendale with it's quiet, wide streets and intersections with stop signs in all directions, but Hollywood was the only one that had appointments before the end of the month.

English in theory, the test doesn't allow you to converse and they only give you the most basic instructions, it may as well have been mimed. I don't speak spanish, but he could have given that test only in spanish and I bet I would have passed. :p

TI, my mother and step-dad got their licenses there - I don't think the building has changed in the last 1,000 years though (yes, somehow the year 970 had the same architectural boredom as the year 1970 :p).

And how's that Matchbox Dodge Charger? Matchbox has been a major letdown the last few years in quality, but that's one I'd like to have (the cops in the satellite cities are using them).

It's pretty nice looking, I'm not too familiar with Matchbox but comparing it to a Matchbox Viper I have, the Charger is the more realistic of the two. I think the Viper may be a pretty old mold though. I think the only real downside about it is the rims could be better, they're unpainted so it looks a little too cheap. I'm glad they left off any police lights though, the Charger they're using at the local PD is a "stealth" cruiser, the lights are all inside and it's all black with the exception of markings on the doors that only show up in direct light.

McQuarrie Vader - thanks to Jango Speck on this one. I've already said nice things, so here's the not-so-nice, Hasbro should NEVER have done the cape that way, it's all wrong how it doesn't attach to his chest and has that silver. Also, Vader's elbows come off WAAAAAAAY too easily. And finally, WTF is with that saber? Huge handle and no removable blade?!? Plus, some likeness issues in both helmets to the art. Still a very nifty figure all around.

TF Movie Bumblebee 08 - they had 2 TF deluxes at the store that day, one of them was Payload, the other... BUMBLEBEE?!? I couldn't pass it up. I have someone in mind for this one.

TAC Concept Vader - trade bait (we'll see if anybody wants him).

TAC UGH Galactic Marine - an item for trade, waiting to hear back on it.

TAC Hermi Odle - he's alright, but not pushing Ephant Mon off his throne as king big fig. Hermi's costume makes him seem bigger than he is, it looks good on him but is a tad unwieldy. Articulation is mixed, not really in love with how they did the shoulders so that the sculpt gets in the way of the movement. Sculpting is alright, but I wish they had sprayed him with something to make him look drippy.

TAC 3PO/Salacious - 3PO is alright, I would have liked the eye stalk painted, but it's a cute gimmick none the less and not hard plastic, thank goodness. The bright & shiny look goes poorly with the green slime paint though. Salacious is a big surprise, he's quite articulated with universal-jointed hips, movable arms, and a movable head (tail's not movable, which is just weird).

Mega Bloks Plasma Robots - I don't remember the name exactly, they light up in the chest and each have a big weapon, I ended up buying yellow, red, blue, and black ones, they're pretty simple but for $5 they're a'ight.

Reece's Whipped - take a 3 Musketeers bar and add peanut butter flavoring to the middle. It's not bad, I still prefer 3 Musketeers and Reece's Peanut Butter cups to this thing tho'.

I won an 80GB iPOD. Black.

New office chair covered with some sort of micropore breathable fabric so it doesn't get sweaty and stuff.

Someone gave me a really old 4 megapixels digicam which doesn't seem to want to charge up. technology is dumb.

I also bought more doctor who figures:
Both variant series 3 scarecrow slaves.
Series 3 Martha Jones with the revised paint apps
Series 1 Dr. Constantine

and i bought a sweater. 100% pure new lambs wool. toasty warm. charcoal grey. crew neck.

I want one of those so bad. 80GB Black is perfect.

One of the next big purchases I make.

BTW: Picked up: Transformers the Movie.
Saw it playing silently on one of those Walmart TV displays and thought the animation looked cool.
