SPOILERS for the Force Unleashed Minis and game (but you can at least see what the Rancor toy may look like)

Okay, you want to know what the Rancor will look like?

Here's a shot from the Force Unleashed Miniatures poster:

Not all the figures are from Force Unleashed. I see Carbonite Han, Hoth Han, and Luke with Yoda.

Also see a TIE Crawler and World Devastator (both from Dark Empire), a Dagobah spider, and some sort of heavy-artillery AT-ST.

For some reason pics weren't coming up.
I was curious whether the Rancor would be different from the old one.
I did find this pic, I hope he looks like this with tusks http://psp.about.com/od/screenshots/ig/SW-Force-Unleashed-Art/SW-Force-Unleashed-Rancor-02.htm

The heavy artillery AT-ST is actually a "Wookiee Hunter" AT-ST.

IIRC, the "spider" is not from Dagobah but rather from an EU story. The spider gets information from the galaxy. It also builds "nodes" that perform one task. Some act as landing lights, some the landing platforms themselves. The most notable node being called Balancesheet. Eventually this node killed it's creator and took over. (I think this the right story reference.)

Yeah, I know the story (not one of the best, but better than a lot of the recent drivel). That's not the Assembler or Balancesheet. It's the larval form of a gnarltree (AKA the knobby white spider (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Knobby_white_spider)), as seen in The Illustrated Star Wars Universe.

so basically it's the same rancor as we had in POTJ2 but this time with a new paint deco and new head with horns. making it even more front heavy and prone to falling over. unless they give it that longer tail to balance it out. kinda glue the tail on over the stubby tail the POTF2 one has. it'd need to be a heavy tail though coz the rancor is just magnetically attracted to any surface you put it on and just loves to slump forward and headbutt the shelf. or fall over sideways.

What meesa thinking? At least the horns would be something.
Why do I get the feeling that it's just going to be the old Rancor with a different paint job on it.
To actually sculpt something slightly different would cost Hasbro more $$.

So, what is Force Unleashed? Is it another mini game? Is it new 3.75 figures? I really dont know..........

Both, "Force Unleashed" will be a new video game, and there will be new characters made for it's release.
They were introduced at New York Toy Fair.

Some of the figures look pretty decent then you have ones that look like the rancor. Let's see. Kids think that facial tattoos and horns are cool. Let's put 'em on a rancor!!! Maybe he'll come with an iPod too since those are all the rage!!!

I really really really want Hasbro to make the TIE Crawler. I have wanted one of these since I first read the Dark Empire Comics way back. The Rancor with Rider looks cool as well and the Heavy Wookie Hunter AT-ST would rock, I just hope that if Hasbro does make the AT-ST they give us a whole new sculpt and not just re-use the existing mold and add on the extra weapons

What precedence is there for Rancors growing horns and tusks?

None really that I know of.

It's kind of like Devaronian males horns growing out to be like ram horns.

It's just made up stuff to make things look better in the eyes of someone else, instead of following any movie continuity.

Honestly though, I don't mind the tusks on the Rancor. Makes it look much meaner and menacing.

i always said the next rancor i get would have a sith witch on it... looks like i may be wrong. I doubt we'll see alot of the wotc minis in the hasbro line, at least in the begining, i can see them doing the at-st eventually though, which is a easy pass. the rancor though will be a purchase since i love those things.
