Threepio is driving Han and Leia crazy with his constant "odds" while they are running from the Empire in ESB.

Leia reaches over to an unspecified place behind Threepio's neck and the droid deactivates. We are to assume that the droid has an "off switch" back there. Where is it? And why on Earth(?) would there be an off-switch placed on a droid's neck?

A place where he can't reach it I assume? Like a reach-around between Slick and Capy?

It's indeed on his neck, as shown in both ESB and TPM.

Maybe it's there to, I dunno, turn him on or off? Just a hunch.

I would hope not. If you did turn him on, that might mean you're robosexual.

What if Threepio turns you on?

I'm not sure where the switch is exactly. In TPM Anakin touches the front of his neck to turn him on and in ESB Leia touches the BACK of his neck to turn him off. Maybe he has separate on and off switches...

The neck is a decent choice because he's less likely to accidentally bump it on something and accidentally deactivate himself.

Shmi probably moved it to the back when she put the covers on.
