...are becoming available soon. They are far better than expected. Pretty small with an average 10 centimeters length. Price is an ewesome 4,5 Euros (6-7 USD) each in Germany.

Pics of the prototypes sprues (some are still unpainted but the final product will be pre-painted as usual) :

Are these kinda like the old snap-kits that were sold around Episode 1 (Darth Maul's Infiltrator, Republic Cruiser, MTT and Droid Trade Fed Dropship)? Are they bigger? Smaller?

These look pretty cool. I'm waiting for the AT-AT

Those are looking good. I'll be trying to get them.

And they look like they should be larger then the Ep.1 minis. None of those had little pilot figures, I hope they are abit larger.

Great pics Sic, thanks! 10cm is ridiculously smaller than I expected, 4" is the size of the Titanium Series' longer entries (royal starship), are you sure that's right? Some of those parts would be teeny, I can't see how they'd paint them. The price sounds good, I may have to look into importing a case of 'em.

I haven't seen them yet in "real life". But the scale is 1/87, then smaller than the 1/72 Fine Molds kits. 1/87 is the HO scale, the scale for electric trains and their dioramas.

I've just received the Revell EasyKits "pocket" today. I will post pics in a few hours.

Here are the first pics. The are quite nice for the price (approx. 5 Euros each, I paid a little more to get the first batch). 10 minutes to complete each model. I've added the big Revell JSF and a 3" Titanium on the pics for comparison.
The last pic shows the sprues of the ARC-170.

Thanks for the pics! Might have to get some myself.

I always leave out the mini-figs that come with model kits. They are usually under-detailed and no paint job in the world can fix em.

Those look awesome. I will definitely get these.

How many are they? I know of the 2 JSF, Vader's TIE, TIE Interceptor, and ARC Fighter, X-Wing. Is that all?

Yes, this is all for the moment. I hope a second batch will be made in 2008.

Here's the ARC-170 completed. It is shot with a normal sized pen to show you how tiny they are. Smaller than the ULTRA Titanium one.

I've just added a little touch of paint on the canopy. The bigger ARC-170 is the previous Revell Easykit which is roughly 1:72 scale.

Best.

Man is that model small. Originally, I was thinking it wasn't detailed enough, but at that size it really has a lot going on.

What did you add to the canopy?

That larger easykit looks amazing, I wish we had that line here.

Here is a picture of the X-wing that will show its size :

- On the ARC-170, I've added some grey lines on the canopy.

That's an interesting size, I'd say it's somewhere around the old Kenner Micro World line which is one of my first loves for SW vehicles.

Picked up the Obi-Wan Starfighter kit at Target today for $10.99. Its prepainted of course but I think I'll repaint it for better detailing. The Obi figure is an abomination so I threw it away.

I've noticed that Targets are carrying the Obi-Wan and Anakin JSF's

I thought about getting at least one of them but thought that I'd check out what other collectors think of them first.

The kits themselves are very good. I recommend ditching the figure if you get one. Back to the kit, the detail is good and paintjob is basic. But even the JSFs in ROTS had some damage, stains, grease etc. So weathering is a must.

Why would you want to ditch the figures? It's always better to have pilots sitting in the cockpit.

I bought the ARC-170 Starfighter. It's quite nice.

Sorry, but I don't think it was the Revell "pocket" model. I seen the Ep3 JSF at my local target for the same price, but it was roughly the same size as the earlier Die-Cast models.

I really hope to see Revell do a large Republic Gunship. One thats about the same scale as their ARC-170. With Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme and 2 clones that go in the troop bay.

Extremely bad marketing decision, or some brainless exec that, thought they wouldn't sell here.

JediTricks

I think AMT/Ertl has the license in the US which is really the problem unfortunately, and they're just sitting on it doing not much.

Jangu Fett
02-06-2008, 12:55 PM
If that's the case, AMT needs to give it up. Let Revell release here in the states. What's the point getting the license, and not release anything new?.?.

I vaguely remember hearing that AMT was going to do a RGS, wonder what happened there? I would have gotten about 3 of those. 1 painted regular, 1 ARC (Shark), and 1 to personallize.

I guess they're trying to hold onto it in case it gets useful again. So frustrating. But the US doesn't have a market for model building anymore, so it's not surprising either.

I read somewhere that Revell is going to release the ARC-170, here in the states. Sometime this August. I'll try to find the story, and post a link.

Jayspawn

I heard that too Jangu. They're supposed to release a Slave I and Republic Star Destroyer I think.

It sucks that model building is a lost art here in the US.

Can't wait for them.
Personally I prefer these vehicles over Hasbro's TITANIUMS because they have people in them piloting, at least with the smaller ships.

The Naboo Fighter looks like it's from 2 different kits, the front doesn't match the shape of the rest.
