On Wednesday the wife and I are headed to the Boston area for a week.
We spent a week there back in April 2006 and and had a blast. This time we're looking for new things to do.

Last time we hit:
-The city of Boston itself (too bad the Star Wars exhibit isn't there anymore).
-Walked around Harvard.
-A Harbor tour.
-Salem (meh), but could be cool this time of year.
-Waldon Pond.
-An old cemetery (I forget the name) with a bunch of famous authors (like Ralph Waldo Emmerson).
-We took a trip up the coast to Maine (Kennybunport - sp?).
-Almost met Ben Affleck.
-Toured Fenway (couldn't get tickets - the dirty Yankees were in town).
-Ate at damn near every seafood shack on the coast (I made the "mistake" of eating New England Clam Chowder for the first time in Mass. I can't eat that vomit in a can they call N.E. Clam Chowder here).
-I'm forgetting a thing or two...

So far on this trip, we are:
-Going to/volunteering at the Regatta (my bro-in-law's girlfriend is in it).
-Heading to Lizzie Borden's house.
-Finding a Newbury Comic Store for some Sailor Jerry Rum (weird, I know, but damn, that is some damn good rum).
-The aquarium (probably) and an IMAX show (we saw one last time).
-A Bruins game is a possibility.

Suggestions for anything else?

Call up Steven Tyler and ask if he's ready to rock.

Nope. Not from Massachusetts, but I'd sure like to visit one of these days.

As a history buff, New England is definitely on the list as is Virginia and DC. Now if only I can win the lottery........:Ponder:

I'm envious of your trip, RB (especially the Bruins game)!

Until you ask Sarah if you guys can go to a Bruins game.Yeah, pretty much.
Money and time could also be an issue.

....so Jamestown and the Civil War battlefields would hold no interest for a history buff?????

The only store in MI that sells it is down near Grand Rapids.

Indeed it is!! You should've hung out with me last Christmas. I came home with a handle and a fifth of it. If I'm not mistaken either Adam or my mom still has some of it...Sarah got smashed on it one night. It started out, "Hey, would you like a drink?" and turned into, "Mehabfhadfbhsdfbhbhdsbshbvbh. I love you!" in no time.

I still have about half of that handle left, for the record.

http://www.newburycomics.com/rel/v2_home.php?storenr=103&deptnr=60

that should help you find a store near one of your attractions...

MAsshole.Eat it Richards (and I had a Sox hat before I went to Boston).

I tracked down a Newbury Comics and came up empty. Turns out the fact that a comic shop that sells rum was too good (and bizarre) to be true. They only carry some Sailor Jerry Rum Apparel, not the rum.
But fear not, I did find myself a bottle in Maine - and found even more a short time later in New Hampshire (on the way back to Mass), where it was far cheaper than I paid for it in Maine. Live and learn. I know where to get it cheaper next time.

but why is the rum gone?
