View Full Version : What "stupid" characters do you want, and how serious are you?

El Chuxter

Inspired by Tycho's post in the Q&A thread:

...take the "Bea Aurthur Holiday Special Figure." I don't think most of us want that and the people who support it are joking.

So, what figures do you want who are, for whatever reason, likely to never get made? I don't mean figures like Yarna, who stand a chance, no matter how slim. And how badly do you want them?

For me, the bulk come from the little-explored made for TV projects from the old days, but not entirely:

Teek
Akmeena (Bea Arthur)
Noa Briqualon (Wilfred Brimley)
Chuka-Trokh
Princess Kneesa
Kaink
Gorax
King Terak
Lumpawarrump
Attichitkuk
Mallatobuck
Senator Grebleips (dedicated figure, likely with Senate pod)
Smiling Kit Fisto resculpt
Hi-Yaah Girl
Mon Calamari Dancer
Jira
Jocasta Nu
Crazy Elephant Mask Lady (ROTS opera scene)
Mother Ewok with Wokling(s)
Trioculus (no matter how crappy the book, it'd be a cool figure)
Roz

That's just a few. Granted, Jocasta and the Mother Ewok might stand a very, very slim chance of being produced, but they'd be incredibly long shots.

How serious am I? I can say, without hesitation, I would buy any of these BEFORE I would buy:

Any Han resculpt
Any Leia resculpt
Any Luke resculpt
Any C-3PO resculpt (minus a decent AOTC figure)
Any R2-D2 resculpt
Any Lando resculpt
Any Vader resculpt
Any resculpted Cantina denizen (minus an Evazan who doesn't look like Goofy)
Any resculpted Jabba's Palace denizen (minus Jabba himself in the proper scale)
Any vehicle of any shape or size
Any Obi-Wan (minus a decent AOTC figure)
Any PT Jedi (minus a good Qui-Gon or those mentioned above)
Any Rebel Pilot
Any Sith Lord resculpt

And that's not counting crap I'd pass on entirely anyway, like Legacy or Infinities characters. Hell, about the only things I'd buy before the "silly" figures above would be new Podracers, Jabba's Palace denizens, Cantina patrons, Tey How, Senators, unproduced Padmes, or Ewoks, none of which Hasbro seems in any hurry to give us.

Free information, Hasbro. Feel free to use it, or ignore it as you do most suggestions. ("Know your market" isn't exactly your motto.)

I would buy Chukha-Trokh and Kaink in a heartbeat! It would make my year if Hasbro announced them for 2008.

I don't want to list Skiff Guards, because they all have a reasonable chance of being made. Even a Barada resculpt isn't completely unlikely if the line continues long enough.

Teek would be awesome as well. I'm not super enthused about a Noa figure, but if they have to make him to justify making Teek, then so be it.

I also have to add the grey Rebel Pilots from ROTJ, they're not easy to see, but they are visible in the briefing room. I've attached the concept drawing that originally lists them as B-Wing Pilots.

Cane Adiss would be the next one, but it's completely dependent on how Hasbro fills in the gaps. IMO, there's no need to do this figure as anything other than two intertwining snake-like aliens. Supposedly, it's a two-headed creature with some stupid brontosaurus body, but that's silly. A "snake couple" makes the most sense to me. Seeing how Hasbro screwed up Hem Dazon, I don't really want to see them trying to invent a body for Cane Adiss.

Cane_Adiss
11-02-2007, 01:58 PM
Most of the characters in that list I'm not familiar with, but the Mon Cal Dancer is a figure I've been waiting for for a while now. I think she's pretty likely eventually as the design was used in the movie. I agree with Ackmena, and would also like to see all the Holiday Special cantina aliens that don't appear in ANH made eventually although it seems Hasbro isn't aware that there are original designs there to be considered.

Cane Adiss is another figure I would love to see made (hence my profile name ) but I don't think the "two intertwined snakes" idea would work for an action figure. Plus, he's a pilot so he needs limbs. The "silly" lizardlike body idea is what works best IMO for his official dimensions and would make the most interesting toy. See my post in the Rebescum.com forums.

Jocasta Nu and the Ewok mother/child I think we will see soon, as there are alot of people who want these I think.

Kidhuman

I would buy just about any figure from the Holiday special.

Jocasta Nu
Queen Jamilla
Padmes Family
Cleigg with hover wheelchair
Mother Ewok with Wokling
Hi-Yaah Girl
Roz
Montross

El Chuxter

Hi-Yaah Girl has a name. (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sarrissa_Jeng)

The whole thing reeks of "What's the Story." Especially given that she looks more like a stinkin' Padawan than a Knight. I think I'll stick with "Hi-Yaah Girl," thank you.

I think any character that is in the films is not a "stupid" character. Maybe a boring one but not stupid. As far as EU goes I'm ok with them. They are "must haves" but they definately rank above another Han or Vader. The only figure I can really think of that I think is a stupid character but want the figure anyway would be Jaxon the big green rabbit. I do hope they make the figure and would definately buy it.

"There are no stupid characters, and hence there are no stupid figures. There are only stupid collectors who buy and complain about figures they don't have any interest in."

I was shocked when I found this quote. It's still hard for me to believe that the ancient Chinese collected toys! Who'd have known?

Mr. JabbaJohnL
11-02-2007, 05:41 PM
I still want Jaxxon, since that would be awesome. Kneesa too, for sentimental reasons.

I think Hem Dazon's body had already been established by EU long before Hasbro made the figure.

Tycho
11-03-2007, 04:14 AM
There's a bunch of EU to list, but I wouldn't call them stupid - though some are obscure and very much diorama builders - like ancient Mandalorians to be under Mandalore's command.

I don't know if they are stupid next to more resculpts, either but I do want:

Jocasta Nu
Queen Jamilla
Padmes Family
Cleigg with hover wheelchair
Mother Ewok with Wokling
Hi-Yaah Girl (Sarissa Jeng - thank you Chuxter)
Montross

amongst others. (Nice list Kidhuman)

Now I'd buy Ice Cream Maker Guy (Wilrow Hood) while others wouldn't.

And I want all of Padme's outfits (most of them anyway) made.

Excellent idea for a thread Chux. I'll take some from the lists here. From those I'd like:

Teek-not a huge suporter like Chux, but he'd be a novelty to have.
Akmeena (Bea Arthur)-oh, what the hell, it'd be a little crazy having this figure, but I'd get it.
Gorax-hell yes! This would be even bigger than a Rancor I believe. Great choice fo some kind of "build-a-figure" set!
Lumpawarrump-already said I'd be up for this one. Both the kid and adult versions!
Attichitkuk-already said I'd be up for this one.
Mallatobuck-already said I'd be up for this one.
Hi-Yaah Girl
Mon Calamari Dancer-not sure how they'd do this, but it would be a very cool figure to own.
Jira-sure, who doesn't need an old leather-faced hag selling her wares! lol.
Jocasta Nu-Sure who doesn't need a pasty-faced hag with an attitude! Seriously, I'd buy this figure! Even an extra or two for customs.
Mother Ewok with Wokling(s)-LONG overdue!
Queen Jamilla-Heck yeah!
Padmes Family-meh, maybe as a family pack, then i'd get it.
Cleigg with hover wheelchair-LONG overdue as are AOCT and ROTS versions of Owen and Beru.
Montross-Heck yeah, this was a cool Mando, especially in the video game.
Ice Cream Maker Guy-I mean really....this character has got to have one of the biggest petitions to have it made over any other character in the SW universe. Make him and get it done already.
Padme's outfits-absolutely. ANY outfit that made it onscreen should be made. If anything do a Padme Evolutions. There could be a few sets for these alone.

And now for a bevy of Outlander Patrons (hey if the Cantina can get some love, how about the Preuel version of the Cantina?)-the name appears at the end of the link:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nyrat_Agira - HOT Chicka!
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Onyeth_Canavar - I've wanted this alien since seeing the deleted scene for TPM, now the same or very similar alien shows up in AOTC.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kalyn_Farnmir - this is a very intersting character, being the head of Kuati security and a female. More female action figures please!
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dyemma_Reel - another very intersting looking female patron of the Outlander

For other choices I have not listed (and didn't particularily want) go here:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gallery_of_Outlander_Club_patrons

Now back to the list...
Kamino cloner (generic)
2-pack kid clone (with learning helmet-can already be sculpted on)-this time articulated, even if not SA. I wanted an articulated kid Boba! so this can be a way to do it. Hasbro can then REUSE the mod as they are oft to do, for an actual Boba fig, just swapping the head.
Heck, in fact the above two figs could be in a multi-pack:
2 Kamino Cloners, 2 kid clones, 1 kid Boba - Maybe a Jango-the one from the evolutions or the one with the poncho.

Hermione Bagwa-the human waitress from Dexster's diner.

http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/darthbandon/index.html - I really liked the look of this character from the KOTOR series. (while we're at it, even if they have a chance to be made, how about more mainline and army building characters from the first KOTOR!)
http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/torynfarr/index.html - I often request this character. She's SO close to a Hoth Leia, that a simple head swap would pretty much suffice.

last (for now) and certainly and least, Jaxxon:
http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/jaxxon/index.html

I like the newly realised version of this character and not so much the old Marvel version, though I'd buy that one too.

One question, who the hell is this Roz that some of you have spoken of?

Just so you guys are aware, the Bea Arthur character from the Holiday Special is spelled "Ackmena" not Ackmeena. I don't know where the second spelling came from. Just a small nit to pick I know.

I'd like to see Hasbro finish Jabba's Palace and the Cantina (including new aliens from the Holiday Special) before they start the Outlander club. The original trilogy aliens are much cooler designs imo. We need a Ket Maliss! We need a Dice Ibegon! We need a Cane Adiss! We need Ackmena! I don't mean though that I want Hasbro to wait on making me my Mon Calamari Dancer! Jocasta Nu would be cool too as we need more Jedi for Anakin to dismember.

Rick McCallum, Naboo Dignitary.

I know The Rick is a long shot, if not impossible, BUT they did make Baron Papanoida and the rest of Clan Lucas, General McQuarrie, Ackmed Beq, Danni Faytonni, and Richard Marquand (put his pic on the card for POTF2 AT-ST Driver).

Also they should make Teek in a 3 pack with the two Marauder gamblers that he tricked into Greedo-ing each other.

I'd buy everything mentioned thus far, though of course i have my reservations for other figures that i'd like to see made first, though others i'd add to the list.

1.) Legacy of the Force Novel characters, Betrayal, Bloodlines ETC. Jacen, Jainia, Tenel Ka, Ben Skywalker, Mara Jade (Jedi Knight/Master), Han in Mando. Armor, Ardyn, Kyle Katarn, Corarn Horn (Jedi Knight), ETC....I could keep going. (I really honestly doubt any of these figures with the exception of the solo twins will ever be made into plastic by hasbro.)

2.) Marvel Comics Rogues Gallery: alot of the aliens such as the gargoyles (Stinaxes i think), Nagai (Spelling), the green bunny guy, and his crew. The half cyborg bounty hunter, ETC. I dont want 100 version of luke and han just the minor characters. (Theres no way in hell any of these will ever be made.)

3.) A complete line of Tales of the Jedi/Golden Age of the sith line. (Maybe Kun and Ulic eventually...but the rest i have came to accept are long shots.)

4.) The Jedi Library keeper (The old woman) (Dont know her name but that would be a horriably cool figure)

5.) Young Own and Beru with Old Beru and Lars...(Complete with crispy remains.)

6. Ronald Regan, the x-wing pilot as seen in episode 4, on yavin.

7. Knocked up and Dead Padmae (Funeral prye)

How did I, of all people, forget the Great Green Bunny himself? Jaxxon at the top of my list! Well, right after the Teekinator.

JMS, Roz is Jango's, uh, contact of some sort. I think she's like an intergalactic bail bonds agent, and sends him after folks who skip bail. She's from the bounty hunter game. Look at her pic (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rozatta), and you'll see why KH and I want her. She could be easily made from minor changes to the Watto mold.

The Waitress is Hermione Bagwa (as mentioned in my list).

Those droids are "RIC" droids, the very same ones as the rickshaw droid on Tatooine that carted Anakin and Padme about when looking for Watto for info about Anakin's mother.
For proof go here:

I was going to mention the rickshaw droid. I think one of those would be cool. But he would have to have an accessory that anakin and padme could sit on while he pulls them. That would be really cool. Other than that I may buy the tick cow thing from attack of the clones. I can't remember the name. And the chick in the thong red leotard from AOTC. Yeah, she's hot.

4.) The Jedi Library keeper (The old woman) (Dont know her name but that would be a horriably cool figure)

Her name is (drumroll, please) Jocasta Nu! (She's been in this thread from the beginning. Who wouldn't want a b****y old lady with a lightsaber?)

By Jove, you're right! I'm not sure if I saw it wrong somewhere, or assumed it had two E's, or what.

But since we're back on her, how about some of the stranger Holiday Special cantina patrons: Tork (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tork), Myhr Rho (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Myhr_Rho), Cebann Veekan (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cebann_Veekan), Krelman (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Krelman), and the unnamed Tin-Tin Dwarf (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tintinna).

I found an A-Wing Pilot today and, to my surprise, there is a pretty clear photo of the grey-suited Y-Wing Pilot on the cardback. He's right smack dab in the center of the photo sitting all by his lonesome.:( Neglected by his peers, neglected by Hasbro, I think it's time we see this guy made into a figure.

There is also apparently a black-female A-Wing Pilot sitting below.

I don't think anything is off the table, especially given some of the pack ins we've seen lately. I would like Camie and Fixer. I would probably get Willrow Hood as well, I just think he needs to be short-packed. I would also like to see that really goofy droid on the Sandcrawler that looks like a vacuum cleaner.

Cane_Adiss
11-16-2007, 12:17 PM
Speaking of pack-ins, one figure I'd like to see made someday is that Revwien alien from the original cantina concept art by Ron Cobb. Because its plant-like design would limit its articulation, it would work best probably as an accessory of some sort. I think this would be an interesting addition to the line as Hasbro stated that they plan to "complete the Cantina scene". This would be a cool new alien to add to our bar dioramas, even if he never made it into the movie.

Mine would actually all be from Marvel Star Wars, I would like to see Hasbro deliver what they promised in the first place, instead of what we got in the comic packs.

In no particular order:

Jaxxon
Cody Sunchilde
Governor Quarg
Dragon Lord
Ansible Beelyard
Amaiza Foxtrain
Hedji
Don Whan Kohitay
Jim The Starkiller Kid
FE-9Q
Valance
Plif
Bey
Dani
Rik
Chihdo
Kiro

I am sure theres others at the min I cant remember, how serious I am I would want these over any other PT figures (that includes the TFU which I am really looking forward to).

Tey How (goggled Nemoidian-Ep1)
Jocasta Nu
Queen Jamilla
Padme's Family
Cleigg with hover wheelchair
Young Owen & Beru
Hermione Bagwa
Ko Sai (Kaminion scientist)
Kitser & Wald
Mother Ewok with Wokling

Shmi Skywalker (soft-goods dress, articulated legs and scarred) - I know, sounds a little twisted, but I've always wanted to add the pivitol moment of her death in Ani's arms to my AOTC display

Not only do I not consider these "stupid" characters, but they top my list and I won't die happily until I get some of them:

Noa and Teek
Cindel Towani (My fiancee has granted that we will name our daughter after her)
Mace Towani
King Terak
Charal

Kaink
Chukha-Trokh
(Padme's family)
(Anakin's step-family)
(Chewie's family)
Cane Adiss
Jocasta Nu
(Mother Ewok & Wokling-specifically Shodu and Winda)
Deej
Weechee
Widdle (though I guess that "Wicket" from the Target set counts...)
Akmena (OK, maybe a bit silly, but I'd buy it!)
Roz (I LOVE that game!)
Montross
Mungo Baobab
Mon Julpa
Vlix
Lumiya (probably not considered stupid at all nowadays, what with the LOTF books)
female gungan
Jar Jar in Stormtrooper armor (I just made that one up to see who'd notice)(But i'd buy it.) (Seriously.)
Wald
Kitster
Weasel (Can we get some Willow love, here?)
King Gorneesh (and his ilk)

Um...yeah, I have to say, even Jaxxon.

Uki, your list reminded me of something. I was a little kid during the run of the Droids TV show, and I have to point out, they never ever made Mungo Baobab into a figure.

I remember at the time I thought his name sounded retarded even when I was 4 or 5. But now, I realize that it is perfectly in line with the names they use for other characters, so why not? He was kinda cool in his own way I suppose. Though you want to talk about a show that probably can't fit into continuity with the movies? That and the Ewok TV show would probably be it.

I guess I'm as serious about these as i am about any of the other characters. nice to get them if we did, not essential to my wellbeing or future existence and just a nice little distraction when bored.

I think Pix (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pix) qualifies for a "stupid" character that I would like to have in figure form. While I dislike the trend to hussy up female Jedi characters, she's somehow managed to make it past my bias.

I don't think we can live any longer without a Shug Ninx and Salla Zend 2-pack. Quit depriving us, Hasbro! And maybe another pack with Empatojayos Brand and Vima-Da-Boda. I know we've all been itching for those two as well (and the buyer should get 50% of their purchase if they can correctly pronounce "Empatojayos"). And while they're at it, they could toss in Jem and Rayf Ysanna and be done with it. Or maybe they should just quit before they even start down that road...

I seem to be the only one, but I would like to see Jedi Outcast get some action figure treatment. We're overdue for an updated (accurate) Kyle anyway, and a Desann, Jan, reborns, Admiral Fyar, and the rest of the bunch would be nice to own. If the idea is as unpopular as it appears from what I've seen, they might even actually have them on the pegs still by the time I made it to the store...

I think most of the figures I'm listing here will be made eventually, but not for a looong time. Most are ones I'd REALLY like to see though:

1. Mon Calamari Dancer - Hasbro said she's coming, but not for a few years.
2. Cane Adiss - Hasbro said he'd "be an interesting species to tackle at some point" but he's not on their priority list.
3. Utris M'toc - Hasbro says there's a "strong possibility" that they will do Utris the next time they do a Bespin security officer.
4. Wiorkettle - neato alien from Cloud City. Possible reuse of Zutton's head?
5. Treva Horme - Headsculpt could be the basis of a Solomahal figure, or vice versa.
6. Dice Ibegon - Hasbro says they would like to complete the cantina scene, "including Dice" at some point. Should be long and wormlike in design with a bendy body like Oppo Rancisis. Would be a nifty pack in with an updated Lak Sivrak.
7. Kal'Falnl Cndros - Sideshow thought it would be funny to play a practical joke on us collectors by "announcing" plans for a 12'' scale Kal. Hasbro should take note that alot of collectors would like to see her eventually.
8. Leesub Sirln - super obscure alien chick in a silver bathing suit type thing. Really want her! Hasbro will complete the cantina scene supposedly, but I have a feeling Ms. Sirln will be one of the last made into a figure.
9. Wam "Blam" Lufba - a character featured in the Hyperspace "What's the Story?" feature. This would make an awkward figure by himself, so he may do best in another "Jabba's denizens" pack along with Attark, Yoxgit, Rock Wart, and Worrt.
10. Dianoga - a creature in deep need (bad pun intended) of an update. Give it bendy tentacles and articulation where it makes sense and maybe pack it with a Mynock, Dragonsnake and Bogwing as an "Original Trilogy Creature pack".
11. Sarlacc - If Hasbro never does this I will be sorely disappointed. This is one of my favorite sequences from the movies and a memorable creature. Hasbro says the prospect of marketing a "hole in the ground" would be a toughie but I'm sure fans would eat this set up (another bad pun). Give it an articulated beak, bendy tentacles and a rubber "throat" that figures could fall through. Pack it with a Desert Skiff and some new guards such as Kithaba, Vedain, Gailid, Wooof and a repack of the awesome Pote Snitkin.

Also, I would love for Hasbro to include cantina characters/ species that were exclusive to the Holiday Special. Including:

1. Ket Maliss - Many uninformed fans assume this guy was in ANH but his mask was created specially for the Holiday Special, thus he only appears there.
2. Cebann Veekan - The "Baboon man" created for the Special, this guy would make great cantina diorama filler
3. Y'bith alien - this unnamed member of a Bith offshoot race would make a nifty addition to our alien collection. Perhaps Hasbro could assign him a proper name?
4. Myhr Rho - The "lion man" with the white face would make another cool cat for our cantina crowd.
5. TinTin Dwarf - a large rat-like alien seen in the Holiday Special. More cantina fodder please!
6. Thorp - the pale Sakiyan seen in the Cantina
7. Tork - Ackmena's bouncer
8. Kelbo - a new Nikto race never before represented in any of the films. This guy has a unique look that would translate well into a figure.
9. Ackmena - this one should happen, if Hasbro has the proper licensing rights. My guess is fans will make a big stink about her and we'll get her eventually like we got Wuher, BoShek, Yarna, and Willrow Hood.

And finally, there are some figures I want that skirt the fringes of the EU. Most of these are long shots but I figure I can wish all I want, can't I?

1. Revwien - An alien species designed by Ron Cobb for the cantina sequence, but not developed for the film or given a proper name. Would make a great pack in with another figure or more cantina scenery. When asked about this, Hasbro stated that they would look into it, but not to hold much hope for this one as it's way obscure.
2. Cy Yunga - Pod race pilot featured in the Star Wars Ep1 racer game. He was only available as a cheat code I believe. His unique alien features would make a great figure, but I don't ever see this one happening unless lots of fans demand it. Which at the moment they're not.
3. "Vintage" Sy Snootles - when I was young, I loved the look of this character. When the Special Editions came out I was more than a little annoyed that they changed her look considerably. I would love to have a figure of Sy based on her original appearance. (with the tusks, second mouth, feather hat and microphone stand etc.) Hasbro says there is almost no possibility that any member of Jabba's band will ever be updated, but that they are considering Galactic Heroes figs of them.
4. Cruisemissile Trooper - when I was little, this was a favorite toy of mine. It would be neat to see Hasbro update this strange vehicle to fit in the modern line. The pilot would have to be removeable of course and exclusive to the set.

Yeah, just seeing that doesn't really make you want a figure of her does it? Well if you look her up on Wookiepedia there is a pic of her from her appearance in the Secrets of the Sisar Run book by West end Games. She's tall and ostrich-like, with a backpack. I don't know, I think she would be a cool figure to have at some point.

I agree...those Dark Empire EU figs were a nice idea, but most of the sculpts (and coloration) were pretty bad. For their time, they were a novelty, but I know I would certainly buy the ones I mentioned as well as the ones you mentioned (a Kam and Sedriss would be cool, and a closer to scale sentinel). No need for a black stormtrooper now since I know they released one not too long ago. I would definitely love to see some figures from the original Jedi Knight games. Kyle is my favorite EU character, and I love the games he's in, I would definitely buy figures based on any of the games. I think a Jerec and his evil crew would be awesome. And where the flip is a figure of Jan after all this time?

Wow, great idea! Now just let me get my pellet gun and lighter so I can give that figure the treatment it deserves!

I never did see the Jar-Jar with the tongue sticking out from POTF2, but I really wanted to find it so I could pull his tongue with a pliers and make him suffer for the two hours of hell he put me through each time I watched TPM (although he did help me realize the ewoks really weren't all that bad, despite what folks had to say about them when ROTJ first came out).

I don't mind regular gungans to much, except they all remind me of Jar-Jar a little. However, I read the graphic novel of TPM before I saw the movie, and while Jar-Jar's accent was a little weird to read, I never imagined him as obnoxious as he was in the film (his antics didn't look nearly as idiotic on paper as they did on film, and hearing him squeal and whine was just too much). As for Threepio, I'd never have him any other way in the original films. His voice suits his role as a protocol droid, and is supposed to be "elegant" for communicating with people, he just happens to have a whiney personality to go with it. I never thought the OT Threepio was too over the top, though. HOWEVER, they came dangerously close to turning Threepio into another Jar-Jar in the first two prequel films. AOTC was almost a little painful with all the bad one-liners they had Threepio spewing. He took a turn for the more somber in ROTS, though...which I guess is a good thing...

If the actors who played JarJar and Threepio weren't so much like their characters in real life I could possibly accept things as they are. i think it's just the fact that they are like their characters and just as annoying in reality that really tips the balance for me.
I'd love to watch the movies with different voices for that pair. see if it did make a difference. and yeah, different dialogue for Threepio in AOTC. I mean they keep tinkering with stormtrooper dialogue so why not other characters? Personally i think Threpio should be more synthesised sounding anyway. a rougher edge to his voice. a bit deeper in tone.

getting off topic here.

Then we could get true Droids versions of Threepio and Artoo.

I don't know if that's even legally possible. Whilst Lucasfilm (and via licensing, Hasbro) owns the likeness of Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO, Artoo, Luke, Solo, etc., they don't own the likeness of the actors portraying them (yeah, there's a difference). So, unless they can get the actors to sign off, I don't think having the figures you mentioned would be possible.

But going back to the topic at hand, I wouldn't mind having Yoda's entire classroom of younglings with diorama.

I bet if Lucas offered the actors a share of the profits for the use of their likeness, he could get away with it...some of those actors I only ever see working anymore when they get to be the host of the SW trilogy on TNT every year or so (Mark Hamill did have his lucrative career as the animated Joker on the Batman cartoon).

Here's a great idea. Anyone who's ever read the Dark Empire comic series is familiar with how every character in every cell is bathed in grotesque shades of blue and green, no matter what the setting (an artistic device, or just cheap artists who couldn't afford to restock the rest of their colors?). Hasbro should deliver us heroes like Han, Chewie, and the rest of the gang in "Dark Empire colors", ie, painted completely in shades of green and blue. It would be the best thing Hasbro has released since the ROTS "lava figures"...

I'd like the "tropical rain forest" cantina alien. Kind of looks like a cross between a jellyfish and a pitcher plant. As far as I know, it only made it to the concept drawing stage.

that plant like alien was made as a smal figurine for a roleplaying game and is called Revwien apparently. I've always loved the design by Ron Cobb, the casual way it's chilling out with a drink in its hand. one leaf draped across the back of the seat. If ever there was a character calling for a soft squishy feel it's this one. bendy leaves. a semi transluscent plastic body and head oversprayed with paint. could actually look really cool.

Yeah, I don't really like when they try to give characters "lighting" in their paint job...I don't really want Dark Empire guys done that way - it really turned me off that clone Palpatine already looks kind of like they tried to do that with him (I don't like that he looks like Dracula either, but we can't have it all).

Ugnaughts..."ugh" is right. I've never felt much desire to get more since the POTF2 pack that came out a few years ago. There were two of them in that set, which is more than enough to play "keep away" with the Threepio head that came with ESB Chewie...

I suppose I would be okay with a soft goods Ephant Mon if they did it the way they did with Hermi. That cloth used there holds its shape pretty well, and actually looks like cloth on that scale (Darth Nihilus has a similar cape I don't mind too much). Thanks!

A figure that might be actually considered "stupid" I'd like to see in a big way is Sha'a Gi. I used to be a huge fan of Shaggy from Scooby Doo, I pretty much still am. I objected at first to such an obvious reference to pop culture being inserted into the SW Universe, but it's kind of funny, and I'd love to see a figure made of him.

Is the guy in your avatar? I'd buy him, but only if they pack him with Scooby-Doo. lol

Yeah, that's him. I don't think old Scoob made it into the EU yet, but that would be great...lol

I've heard the case made that the human character from the Clone Wars Jedi 3 pack was made with Sha'a Gi in mind, or that he at least serves as a suitable stand in. Pair him with Voolvif Monn, and you almost have Shaggy and Scooby.

I'd have to custom make my own Scooby Snacks.

Now I find myself thinking a diorama of Jedi should always include Sha'a Gi and Voolvif Monn standing in the background with a tiny box of Scooby Snacks. That would make my day.

Sha'a Gi needs a Jedi Starfighter painted up with flowers and other decals like the Mystery Machine...it DID belong to the actual Shaggy Rogers, after all...

If Hasbro releases a Sha'a Gi figure, then they need to also release a new Jedi Starfighter in aqua-blue and lime green, with orange flowers and "Mystery Machine" (in Aurebesh, of course) painted on the side.

I swear, if Hasbro were to have enough of a sense of humor to release that, and Lucasfilm had enough of a sense of humor to allow them to, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

the droid on the ship would have to be SKU-B2

there's nothing stupid about characters. I only focus on the movie characters. the EU characters are ok, I like what I see on EU characters.

I like to see figures made no mater you like them or hate them!

Inspired by Tycho's post in the Q&A thread:

So, what figures do you want who are, for whatever reason, likely to never get made? I don't mean figures like Yarna, who stand a chance, no matter how slim. And how badly do you want them?

For me, the bulk come from the little-explored made for TV projects from the old days, but not entirely:

Teek
Akmeena (Bea Arthur)
Noa Briqualon (Wilfred Brimley)
Chuka-Trokh
Princess Kneesa
Kaink
Gorax
King Terak
Lumpawarrump
Attichitkuk
Mallatobuck
Senator Grebleips (dedicated figure, likely with Senate pod)
Smiling Kit Fisto resculpt
Hi-Yaah Girl
Mon Calamari Dancer
Jira
Jocasta Nu
Crazy Elephant Mask Lady (ROTS opera scene)
Mother Ewok with Wokling(s)
Trioculus (no matter how crappy the book, it'd be a cool figure)
Roz

That's just a few. Granted, Jocasta and the Mother Ewok might stand a very, very slim chance of being produced, but they'd be incredibly long shots.

How serious am I? I can say, without hesitation, I would buy any of these BEFORE I would buy:

Any Han resculpt
Any Leia resculpt
Any Luke resculpt
Any C-3PO resculpt (minus a decent AOTC figure)
Any R2-D2 resculpt
Any Lando resculpt
Any Vader resculpt
Any resculpted Cantina denizen (minus an Evazan who doesn't look like Goofy)
Any resculpted Jabba's Palace denizen (minus Jabba himself in the proper scale)
Any vehicle of any shape or size
Any Obi-Wan (minus a decent AOTC figure)
Any PT Jedi (minus a good Qui-Gon or those mentioned above)
Any Rebel Pilot
Any Sith Lord resculpt

And that's not counting crap I'd pass on entirely anyway, like Legacy or Infinities characters. Hell, about the only things I'd buy before the "silly" figures above would be new Podracers, Jabba's Palace denizens, Cantina patrons, Tey How, Senators, unproduced Padmes, or Ewoks, none of which Hasbro seems in any hurry to give us.

Free information, Hasbro. Feel free to use it, or ignore it as you do most suggestions. ("Know your market" isn't exactly your motto.)

the ewoks?
