There is really a place called Paducah, Kentucky.

Say "Paducah" over and over again. Really fast, out loud, and in public. Now stand on a table or a stage and do it. Some nice people in white lab coats will probably come take you away.

Imagine if there was a place called "Wobblestone."

What if you were a meteorologist trying to provide the forecast?

"The wedder in Wobblestone..."

At least that's how I'd say that. I can't seem to combine "weather" with like-sounding names.

What crazy-named places are around you?

Rancho Cucamonga? That's real - up here inland from LA and San Diego.

My girlfriend lives near a town near Rehrersburg, which sounds like what Scooby Doo would say when he's trying to pronounce the name of a real town.

No wonder the chicks around there are so depressed.

So are Virginville, P**syville, and Bird in Hand, all in Pennsylvania.

Those Amish were dirty-minded.

I've been to Paducah. It is about 10 minutes from the Superman museum in Metropolis, Illinois.

Not a bad little town.

We don't have any crazy town names (that I can think of right now), but we do have this (http://boortz.com/images/big_beaver_road.jpg) down by Detroit.

A small town in the southwest corner of my county is called Taft, named for the US president. Prior to that, the town was known as Moron.

Prior to that, the town was known as Moron.

So it's historically been named after US presidents then? :D

I've been to Paducah. I met a girl over the Yahoo dating site over 10 years ago, and to this day we are still friends. Then I dated a girl whos grandmother lived in Paducah. We went down to see her grandmother, and I tried to meet up with the girl whom I met over the internet, but she was on vacation in Tennesee that weekend. Then when I drove my son down to Florida, I stopped by the internet woman's house, and she was home, and she is a woman, and beautiful at that. I felt comforatable metting up with her, because I had my son with me. She gave us a tin of cookies! She is married now, and moved to Florida, but we still exchange Christmasand Birthday cards.
