What were the Imperial troops going to do with our heroes after herding them out of the Endor bunker and into the forest? Were they going to be shot? Or just made to sit around?

They were going to be forced to wear metal bikinis and sit there, chained to various Imperial officers.

That scene now reminds me of the Iraqi soldiers being made to sit in groups when they were captured (or had "gone French" and given up) by Coalition Forces in Gulf War I.

I think the Imperials were detaining them while checking the possibility of other Rebel troops lurking in the bushes. I don't get the impression any definite plans for them had been made, yet.

....and then the teddy bears attacked. :whip:

They were probably gonna put them in a holding tank until a drop ship could take them away to the Death Star for interrogation.

Or they're gonna let the Ewoks have their way with them.

If they killed them in the bunker they would have had to haul the bodies outside. I imagine they would have tried to ascertain if anyone was worth handing over to Vader and then killed the rest in the woods where they would be left to rot. Why create unneeded physical labor?

I think they were going to be dropped into a shark tank with Batman and Robin, while the Joker robbed the Imperial bank.

They were all taking a bathroom break because, just a few minutes earlier, the Imperials announced, "We will be transferring you all to the nearest death camp, but we're not making any stops along the way. So if you need to use the restroom, then do it now and come right back here."

The stormtroopers were gonna make the Rebels squeal like pigs, "Deliverance"-style, starting with Chewie.

They actually couldn't be herded, per se, since the Cowpoketroopers weren't stationed on Endor.

The Imperials were planning a ridiculously over complicated death sequence for them that they couldn't possibly escape from.

Did it involve alligators? :sur: All good overly complicated death sequences for heroes involve alligators.

And/or sharks with frickin' laser beams.
