I was out and about tonite and decided to stop by a Miejer store(big box store in the mid-west that's similar to Wal-Mart for those wondering)and when I saw the basic figures I noticed the price they were asking was 7.25+tax. That's just a rip-off if you ask me, and I don't usually buy anything from them most times anyway because they get a wave 2 to 5 months after other stores.

Anyway, I was just wondering if this is a trend. I read in a seperate thread that K-Mart was jacking their prices(no big surprise)but has anyone else noticed any particular stores raising the prices above $7?

Hmmmm, increased focus on EU characters and a price increase? If I didn't know better, I'd think Hasbro was deliberately trying to tank the line.:(

All they had were the Saga Legends pegwarmers, but I think I'd have to agree with you on that one.

Supposedly almost all toy lines are supposed to go up about a dollar this year. Due in no small part to all the lead paint issues that were a problem last year.

As well as gas prices which also affect petroleum prices which affect plastic....

I don't think this has happened at any other stores. These smaller stores always have more expensive figures.

Meijer is a big box store like Wal-Mart. They tend to be (a little) pricier even if they claim not to be. Before the increase they were $6.99 just like TRU and Target. That has me wondering if other stores are going to follow suit.

But it's not nearly as widespread as any of those stores.

True, but they're not a mom and pop store either. I have 3 Wal-Marts in my are that have a Meijer right across or right down the street from them. My point is that I hope this isn't the beginning of a widespread increase at all stores. Then again though back in '02 I was paying $4.88 at most stores and look where there at now.

Prices when down over Christmas, but I noticed they went back up this week......I can't see how the'll keep high since so many of the figures are pegwarmers now, at least out here.....

These prices still make me green.... in the UK, basic figures are generally £5.99 each, which makes them over $11. And that's if you can actually find them.... I've not seen any at retail since wave 4, so everything after that I've had to get from ebay at around $15 each.

'Round here, the standard price seems to be $6.99, except K-Mart which is an absurd $8.99. :upset: I do see "sale" prices for $6.49 sometimes. :tired: But when there's nothing new, why bother?

6.43 around here on average at wal-mart. Kay bee and K-Mart is stupid on their prices 8.99...way to much for SW figures.

The prices in my area really vary. K-mart-$8.99:o, Target has legends for $6.99 and regular at $6.63. Wal-Mart has had the best deal so far. Just before Christmas they dropped them to a Rollback of $5.88. Then after Christmas they went on clearance for $5.00. Now they went to $2.50. Needless to say I done a little more army building.

My Wal-Marts offered them for $5.88 before the holidays as well and quickly sold out. The have empty pegs after their resets and the prices on the pegs are back up to $6.63.

The comics packs at the local Targets and Wal-Marts have increased. At WM they went from $9.99 to $10.99; at Target it was from $9.99 to $12.99.

Yep, this is a dumb move. If they were reading online forums like they claim to be, they'd know how many people are getting disenchanted anyway.

Seriously, man, if I were in charge of Hasbro, I'd actually hire someone to do nothing but constantly monitor the discussion at the ten or so major collecting sites. Maybe once a week or so, he could actually post something that's approved by the company. It'd be another person you'd have to pay, but it could save the embarassment of large numbers of clearanced Clonetroopers in a year or two.

If they'd made prototypes of the Custom Choppers and asked opinions a year in advance, they could've saved themselves the embarassment of having every single one that was produced rot on shelves even at clearance prices.

If nothing else, maybe they'd actually believe us about the plague of Jerjerrods.

The comic-packs at my Wal-Mart are $10.88. They're still $9.99 at Target, but if yours has raised the price, I can see it happening to mine in the near future.

I agree with you on the Hasbro reps reviewing the boards. They claim that they already do, but I highly doubt it. I think they just say that to try and shut ppl up sometimes. I'm sure they watch the boards about as much as they send actual reps into the stores to browse the aisles. If that did happen they'd see what we're talking about, and maybe try to make some changes(Think I'll hold my breath:D).

I'm sure they shop at places like Wal-Mart and Target just like the rest of us, so maybe that's what they're talking about. How cool would it be to refer to all of your trips to Wal-Mart as "market research" and claim it as a tax deduction?:upset:
