From the official site here is Ahsoka:
http://www.starwars.com/theclonewars/news/img/20080129.jpg

Rotta is that little blob of a LEGO figure seen in the Captain Rex Thread:
http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/Rex.jpg

So now we know what all of those LEGO figs are...

It appears that we will be getting Ahsoka/Rotta as a carded fig, prolly in the Clone Wars line. (On one card as Rotta would be more an accessory than anything else.)

"Ah so-ka" in Japanese means, "Oh, I see that it is so" LOL

Maybe Rotta is Ashoka's Padawan. We already know that Clone Wars is going to reinterpret the rules of who can have a Padawan. So this would make him a Padawan's Padawan's Padawan! Or a Padawan-Cubed?

Anyone having Beldorion flashbacks here?

Rotta is a baby Hutt, rumored to be Jabba's son.

El Chuxter

Dear God, please don't let this be true.

Despite my b****ing and moaning about the carpy animation and lack of any defined time frame, I was still planning to give this a chance. If Jabba has a kid, I refuse to watch it. Because Zorba would've mentioned that at some point. Zorba is kewl. Hypothetical grandkids of Zorba are not.

Rotta is a baby Hutt, rumored to be Jabba's son.

IF that were true then that would make Jabba a FEMALE as of that time.

As well all know (or should), Hutts are asexual in a sense. They start life exhibiting traits of being a male and continue along that path for life. However once they decide to have a baby, they change their physiology to become female (a real world thing as well, so it's not fiction). Once a Hutt does this however, they cannot revert back to being a male and remain female for the rest of their lives.

This was in one of the novels or tales of books. I just can't recall which one. In the book it was a different Hutt, but the same principle would be applied to Jabba as well since ther eis no differentiation between Hutts and their physiologies.

So again if Rotta is Jabba's son, then as of the OT, Jabba is FEMALE!

Maybe it's his step son, and Jabba had a wife?

Not entirely true. Jiliac switched back after birthing his baby in the Han Solo Trilogy. And Zorba was retconned to be Jabba's "parent," and not "father," and he's clearly got male personality traits every time we see him.

Zorba needs to be a cult classic figure. I am hereby declaring it my duty to put him on the same pedestal as guys like Teek and Kit Fisto.

Only redeeming factor from any of the Star Wars books "written" (and I use that word very loosely) by Barbara Hambly.

Sal, why did you say there would be an Ahsoka with Rotta figure? Or were you suggesting it?

And I'll restate what I said in the other thread about Ahsoka being Anakin's Padawan: Obi-Wan took Anakin as his Padawan the exact same time Obi-Wan became a Knight, so while odd and unexpected, it does follow the continuity of the films.

No they didn't. Yoda said, "Confer on you the level of Jedi Knight the Council does." He wasn't a master until ROTS, or I guess sometime in the Clone Wars.

My source was from JediDefender. Take this with a grain of salt I guess, but the LEGO figures of these two speak to a very good possibility of Hasbro doing the same figure in 3 3/4.

That's why Ashoka probably won't last the series. Let's see how many other alien Jedi that we arlready have that they can make a different charcter out of. Guess they've been doing that since TPM though.

Everyone keeps forgetting about poor old Gardulla!!!!

Zorba starred in an infamous holovid called "One Night in Gardulla."

Here's a dumb question: Ahsoka is "eager to prove herself" as Anakin's Padawan. Meaning she would be 12-13 standard years old.

Why do the members of an austere order let a kid dress like a danged prostitute?

"A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine before he turned to evil..."

"When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master."

So, he was a young Jedi who was a pupil of Obi-Wan's, and when they parted ways he was still a learner, but he's now rad enough to be a council member and a Jedi teacher??? That doesn't track.

Once again, prequel-era "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you!" crap at work.

Thanks Mr. JJB. There's so many new characters being talked about, I seriously get lost in all of it. Is this clone wars cartoon an extension of the story from the other clone wars cartoon? I barrowed those from a friend recently and watched them, they were ok, too short though but I love the guy's animation style.

Wow, 'barrowed' is underlined in red on this spell checker, yet on MS Word and my dictionary, it is correctly spelled :p

In the second season of CW they go from Anakin being knighted right into events that lead up to ROTS, so there is a 2 1/2 to 3 year lag where nothing is explained. This new series is going to focus on what happend in that time.

I can't find "barrowed" anywhere...?

This isn't a continuation of Tartakovsky's cartoon, though it looks like they aped the character designs. It supposedly takes place during the montage of season 3, where Anakin is performing all sorts of crazy heroism between his Knighting ceremony and the main storyline.

Honestly, I can't figure out how it fits in. That's like two months, yet Asajj comes back from the dead (for a third time! or is it a fourth?), and Anakin gets a Padawan. Never mind that there are tons of comics and books already covering that time period. There's now enough source material for the three years of Clone Wars to cover six years, if you crowd it in.

Edit: Jedi Kal-El, you posted while I was writing this. In the novels, Anakin is knighted near the end of Jedi Trial, which takes place roughly 2.5 years into the Clone Wars, or about six months before ROTS. The ceremony itself is shown in season three of Clone Wars. So this covers a very small slice of time.

I hope Asajj doesn't die and come back at the end of every episode. Unless they make a running joke of Grievous shouting, "Oh my God, they've killed Asajj! You b*****ds!!"

You're right Chux, I was mainly going off the continuity of the show and forgot to take all the other literature into account(silly me) but it is hard to keep up with what's what and you have to read/see all of it to almost understand some of it.

That would be killer if they actually did do that as a running joke with Asajj. Personaly, I think they're just bringing her back to justify selling as a few more figures of her. Everyone has to get their royalty check now don't they.

Mr. JabbaJohnL
02-01-2008, 10:53 PM
I don't really mind the continuity discrepancies, if there are any . . . Dave Filoni said at CIV that he's a stickler for continuity, but sometimes George has him ease up on it a little bit to make the story better. Take from that what you will. :p

Anyway, I have to think that it would be a little longer than six months after Anakin is knighted. Or maybe his hair just grows really fast. :D

Well with Hasbro shooting for a late summer early fall movie based on the first four episodes of this cartoon...I guess we can expect to see figures again maybe by what Aug.?

Rotta The hutt is jabbas off spring and it gets kidnapped...why would a jedi care? Jabba is a gangster and a vile evil slaver at that...so i guess this should interesting to see how they pull this off.

Also for the TV series maybe they will be using some of the comics as source material as for what to do in the show.
