This is definitely sad. I saw this and immediately thought of "Jaws". I know he's had other roles but some people are just known for a particular role.

We're gonna need a bigger boat indeed.

Very sad news indeed. May he R.I.P.

What's strange is that last night I watched Jaws for the Oscar movie challenge, not knowing that he passed away.

I always liked his tough cop roles as in The French Connection and The Seven Ups. When he was slated to play Bob Fosse, I thought, "No way!", but he surprised me with his versatility. Wonderful actor. Yes, he will be missed.

He must've been a drinker who smoked and did drugs. I bet he had a filthy house, too.

Very sad indeed. Loved him in Jaws and Blue Thunder. He was one of the better actors of our time. Far better than most of the jokers that act today. He will be missed. :(

His real name was Lanny?

His real name was Lanny? It must've been, as only the "great unwashed" would be dumb enough to do any of those things.

i bet they had to scrape the remnants of his soiled clothing from him. and cull the foul mongrels he kept out back.

I can't believe he was 75. Man, everyone's getting so frickin' old.

thing is he always looked old and wrinkly long before he actually was.
