Haul for two Wal-Marts:

Johnny Lightning 1:64 black Lincoln Futura w/ white-wall tires x1
Paploo on Speederbike x1
Mace's R4 droid x1
History of the World Part 1 DVD

The Paploo I picked up even though I have one coming from Warstar and one from HasbroToyShop just in case the HasbroToyShop order wasn't right (it listed it as sold out on the Titanium page after I ordered it so dunno if I got the last one or what). If the Hasbro order comes through, the third Paploo will be up for trade.

Now to hit two more Wal-Marts, TRU, Target and a comic shop. :D

GI Joe Sigma 6 Windblade Snake Eyes - it's not a great purchase as a toy, the accessories doom this to the crap bin quickly, so it's essentially a $15 new body for Snake Eyes which is at least $5 overpriced (even the $10 figures usually get 1 halfway decent accessory). Still, it's got the best SE paintjob yet and some really choice new articulation, so that does mitigate it some. Grade: B-

Light-up USB 10' extension cable - the ends turn blue whenever the computer is on. My pc only has back-panel USB ports, so I finally rectified that. The blue is very bright, looks star treky. Super cheap so I can't complain, and it works.

New Mousepad - I don't have a lot of room so I bought a cheapy mousepad and will cut it in half to fit the area I do have.

Found the whole Firefly TV series (with 3 never before seen episodes) also at Target for 19.99. That I think is a really good deal! One Battlestar Galactica Classic Colonial Viper........Has anybody here checked how much some of the first BSG Titaniums are going for on the secondary market? Especially the first modern Colonial Viper and the Galactica. The prices would freak you out.

well i bought more lego bits and pieces from ebay taking the total I've spent this month and last to $800. roughly. how much of that is shipping I have no idea.
I've mostly been buying bulk orange bricks and specialist parts, specific techical bits and wall panels. And as it all arrives i keep thinking "don't get much for the money."

by the time I've paid all this off I should be ready to start buying bulk grey bricks and finally be able to start building for real what i have planned.

My various online orders showed up yesterday:

Titanium Series 3" Clone Wars Anakin's Jedi Starfighter - lame entry. Very light, built to same tiny scale as the Ep 2 Jedi Starfighter so not much metal and the whole thing is light. Mine is assembled funky so the halves are a little loose from each other, and cockpit doesn't close right. Details from the 3.75" figure line's vehicle are mostly there, minus the adjustable lower nozzle. Paint is decent but not astounding. Grade: C-

Titanium Rebel Blockade Runner - alright but could be better. Design seems stretched out. Paint (both base and wear) is too thick and hides the sculpted details. Halves aren't held together nicely leaving a gap in the middle of the middle. Good weight and size, nearly all metal, quite whooshable. The "head" seems slightly twisted to the right but it's not plastic so may be tooled funky or could be an optical illusion. Galoob's fear of "you'll put your eye out" remains in play here with the center thruster longer than the others so it can't stand upright. Grade: B-

Titanium BSG Classic Colonial Viper - nifty but slightly flawed. Sports no features again (they need to get features back on the map with this line, starting to fade away). Sculpted detail is nice in most areas, a little lacking on the nose and middle of the lower wings, but acceptable. Nearly all-metal construction but lighter than I was expecting. Paint is nice and the paint-wash is a welcome addition that really brings out the panel lines. The first flaw is the underside being so flat between the wings, there's supposed to be engine shapes all the way across not just small vaguery in the back. The second flaw is the lower wings' placement, they're attached just below the engines rather than slightly beneath middle and it considerably changes the look from the front and underside. Still, both flaws are somewhat forgivable from many non-head-on angles. This next comment isn't a flaw of the toy or Hasbro, but of the original design which seemed pretty cool at the time but now feels surprisingly dated with boxier, less aerodynamic lines and a squat cockpit - the modern series has done an amazing job changing just enough to make their version feel right. Grade: B

GI Joe Sigma 6 Mission Scale Winged Fury - although an all-new sculpt, this is actually a shrunken version of the recent 3.75" line's Rhino Copter which is unusual especially since this is a better toy. Basically, it's the cockpit part of an F-117 Nighthawk stealth plane imagined as an attack helicopter, not the best looking chopper but not shabby either. The basic vehicle has fold-down landing wheels, folding main rotor, and small wings which pop down with a button. The main rotor is gear-driven to spin and spins freely 1 way in this mode when not engaged, yet they added functionality by making it so you can push the rotor down slightly and it disengages the gears and leaves it free to spin but with just enough friction to stay where you leave it which is awesome. Sculpting is generally keen with some nice little details and 2 different sets of molded guns plus another turret at the front that rotates left-right with 2 more guns. The opening cockpit has seats and control sticks for 2. There's also a harness so the copter can be carried by the Dragonhawk. Paint is simple and gets by on its own ok, but is somewhat dependent on the 20 or so stickers, most of which add a step up in the deco department. The best feature of this set is the modular add-on weapons, 4 with the smaller peg (machine guns, laser cannons, and 2 different types of gatling guns - 1 with a movable ammo belt) and 2 large-peg missile-launchers that sport 3 missiles. The small-peg weapons can be attached to either side of the nose turret, either top or bottom of the wings, and at the rear of the cockpit. The launchers are just bordering on being too big, they can be snapped into the top or bottoms of the wings but the other large-pegholes are in a location they can't use. There are 2 figures with this set - Scarlett and Jet Wings Duke (ironically, without the wings). Scarlett is alright but I don't like her anime design from the show which the paint does a decent job reproducing; she's permanently sporting a crossbow and is a tad preposed but can fit in the front seat of the cockpit. Duke is helmeted and wearing the bulky wingpack, one of his arms is preposed awkwardly to hold the control stick, he's too large to sit in the front seat but can sit in the back, he's so dark you can barely see him back there. Overall, it's a decent set, not the most exciting at first and underwhelming figures, but the vehicle grew on me quickly. Grade: B / B+

Sigma 6 Mission Scale Street Razor - lame name, nifty toy! Nice deco with no stickers to worry about, it's all painted on, and there are some places like the red insides of the vents that make this sucker pop. Body is a cockpit between a huge rear wheel and 2 pylons in front each with a smaller wheel. Sculpting is just the right amount of detail. On either "hip" at the middle of the vehicle is a clippy peghole that accomodates the 2 blasters - long forks really, but they work visually. The front wheel pylons are also held on with the clippy peghole, and the vehicle is designed to raise up by rotating those pylons down in 2 clicks, the first works while the second you have to remove the rear bumper to use - should be great for anti-aircraft use this way as it's pointing up a lot this way. The cockpit opens from the back, and has a single wide seat with a small control yoke at the front. Main gimmick is 2 pipes leading down to the pylons, press a button and they pop up revealing missile, press it further and they pop up more and launch in a low ballistic angle - keen enough and I like that it doesn't force a launch on the first press. There's also the rear wheel that is a pull-back motor, and on either side near the rear are small, underwhelming fold-out slashers. Figure is Firefly, actually the Joe version but with the Cobra version's colors; he's sporting neck and hip articulation, plus universal-jointed shoulders; he's not preposed at all and fits beautifully in the cockpit sitting slightly forward and able to easily grab the steering yoke. Firefly's white facemask shows through the dark red cockpit windows nicely. Overall, there's not a lot of cross-compatibility with other Mission Scale weapons pieces unlike a lot of the sets in the line, but it stands well on its own as a fun and exciting unusual Cobra vehicle. Grade: A-

Cardo Scala 700 Bluetooth Headset - $40 at Amazon and has good ratings, so I figured why not. Nice and compact, lightweight and has good functionality. Occasionally lightly-staticky, seems to get good distance though even through walls, microwave oven ramped up static though. Battery life is exceptional, supposedly 10 hours, I couldn't put a dent in it at 2 hrs. It's got a small out-of-ear speaker rather than an earbud which is important to my small ear canals. Sound is a little muffled in terms of clarity but has decent volume and pickup for a boomless headset. Main button is huge, volume is a wheel at the top that also clicks in for secondary functions. Plays ride of the valkyries when it rings which is odd. Can turn off light and has battery status indication which not all have. Answering call-waiting was a surprise with not a button-press but a wheel-press, I screwed that up the first time but won't forget now that I know. Quick-guide says to download full instructions at company website but the quick-guide is all they have online! Not entirely sure about it, but so far I'm thinking... grade: B+

The Titaniums I got were: Invisible Hand, Grievous Fighter, AT-ST, Anakin's Fighter, Tantive, Obi-Wan's Fighter w/Ring, Red Guard Interceptor, and Darth Vader's Fighter. All at Target for a dollar cheaper than Walmart..............The Furutas which BTW are the mostly the same size as the JL's but are not as well detailed in my book are Wave 3 Alpha: Excelsior, NC-1701 Shuttlecraft, Grissom, Phoenix Warp Ship, and Spock bust. Wave 3 Beta set: Enterprise Refit, Pasteur, Rio Grande, Kazon Raider, Borg Cube. Ordered them from the same Japanese guy I bought the first two sets from a while ago for 19.99 plus 8.00 shipping. That means I'll have 30 Furuta Star Trek ships! Buying the JL Star Treks from England however you pay almost double because of the exchange rate. Legends Uncharted Territories for 40.00 U.S. plus 16.00 U.S. shipping. These are well worth getting. The Enterprise D has a detachable saucer section. The whole Star Trek JL line is highly detailed. Too bad I think they are cancelled.

Excellent assortment. You mean the Vader Sith Starfighter, not the TIE Advanced, right? I like the Furutas over the JLs, that's a pretty nifty wave, I remember seeing preview photos now. I should look into getting more Furutas, GSJ got me the ones I have which I believe are wave 2 (the Ent-E is in this wave).

Yes I mean the Vader Sith Starfighter. I forgot to mention Padme's silver ship........The Furutas are an outstanding value. With the ships I mentioned above, and other than Micromachines which are less than half the size, where else are you gonna find cool ships?...like: Equinox, Klingon Attack Cruiser, Cardassian Warship, Stargazer, Prometheus, Defiant, Farragut, Jem Haddar Ship, Deep Space Nine, TNG Romulan Warbird, Klingon Bird of Prey, Enterprise B, C, and E. And most all of the JL ships. (comparing like ships side-by-side the JL's have better detailed paint apps) The Enterprise E was the Furuta chase ship, and extremely hard to get. It goes for over 50.00 or more on eBay. I can't wait to see what Furuta comes up with next. They seem to want to do all the Star Trek ships.

And then you get companies like Konami putting out new ones but only the main ships that we already have a dozen times. I dunno how Furuta and Konami are going to work out their gashapon differences on that.

Yeah, I was so surprised that GSJ was able to get me that Ent-E, and it's so nice too, until the Art Asylum/Diamond Select Toys one it was the best version out there. Didn't realize it was going for so darn much now though!

Titanium Rebel Blockade Runner (variant paint) - no weathering paint on the front half made a big difference, so I bought it when I saw it. Cleaner look brings out more details - both sculpted and painted - which makes a huge difference. Gap in the middle isn't quite as big but still noticeable. Brings up grade a notch. Grade: B

Sigma 6 Mission Scale Thunderwave - a set I wouldn't buy at $10, but at $7 that gun has been calling to me so I went for it finally. I dig nifty watercraft, but this is just an inflatable-style raft with a roll cage. The raft has a few mounting points both big and small, nothing fantastic, the roll cage has a few more which is good since the missile launcher can't be mounted on the boat. The raft has tabs to hold the jet ski in place, which takes up most of the raft floor. The jet ski is niftier, it's got an opening hood with engine details inside, 2 sculpted cannons, and 2 small sigma-holes, plus seating for 2 and handgrips on the back. The raft and the jet ski have decent sculpting and paint, and both float. Duke is the swimmy version based on the 8" figure, and it's a good likeness, he's even got his swim-pack thing. Duke sports standard head, shoulder, and hip articulation, plus universal-jointed knees and ankles which is crazy cool. Duke's hands are permanently cupped down for gripping the jet ski's handlebars and rear grips. Accessories include missile launcher and missile, rubbery antenna, small search light, machine gun with removable holder so it can fit into small sigma-pegholes, Duke's backpack/scuba-motor (removable and with usable handles!), the way-too-big torpedo/motor that slides onto the bottom of the raft and takes an AA battery, and the mack-daddy machine gun. The machine gun is a tri-barrel number with a removable ammo belt, it's hinged at the neck and base (which is the larger sigma-peg), and it's just really nifty. Overall, the set is a little better than I expected but still not terribly impressive, there are some fun features and cool ideas that make it more like the main line, but the motor and boat are still underwhelming. I went to this local toy show put on by collectors (scalpers) in town. It was held at this run down church. I guess they needed the money for upkeep so they rented a few rooms to these guys. I had got an invatation to sell there but decided I would go as a buyer. Man, I could have crushed these people with my collection if I decided to sell it. As I expected it was mostly Hot Wheels guys. Though there were a few action figures. Nothing I wanted or didn't already have. (not gonna buy Hot Wheels!) I didn't find the Johnny Lightning Star Trek ships I was looking for. Particularly the White Lightnings. I did manage to buy for $3 a piece, eight loose JL Hummers, with 4 White Lightnings thrown in there. And three highly detailed Armour collection 1/72 Hummers for $5 a piece. (this guy collected Hummers) So that's eleven die-cast Hummers I picked up. I guess I'm a Hummer collector now. Oh No!

Sigma 6 Grand Slam - wow, this guy got a major update from the RAH line where he was some scrawny dork in goofy red body armor that was just a pack-in with the HAL, now he's big, buff, and sports a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher. The body reuses the upper body from Heavy Duty whom I disliked, but it works better here with the redeco and the shorter legs - the waist assembly is slightly gappy though. The head is a little too similar to Duke - square jawed, short hair, white guy - but comes into his own wearing the helmet (which fits nicely and has a built-on visor). He also sports an elastic-banded bandolier across his chest which is his outfit piece - better than the crazy pants on Heavy Duty (the difference in lower body shape helps further separate these guys visually). GS's weapons include the big rocket launcher with its 3 rockets, 3 shells, removable handle, removable grip, and removable sight - this is a big spring-loaded weapon but it works, it's not too big and the action is cool, pull out the barrel, load a missile, fire and when the missile springs out the barrel recoils and the rear of the gun ejects a shell as the back rotates a little. Just behind the muzzle is a short stand which can slide out, it seems like the figure's knife is designed to slide into place here but there's an obstacle just behind the slide which prevents it. The knife is a basic large hunting knife, it has a removable silver "sheath" which is easily overlooked since it only clips over the edge of the blade and doesn't plug into anything. GS's final weapon is a takeoff on the P90 submachine gun, the gun is a little oddly reshaped and has a big curved clip near the back, GS can't hold it too well since there's a trigger guard and he doesn't have a separated trigger finger unfortunately, I separated the finger and it's a little better but still awkward; the top of the gun has slides for the rocket launcher's removable handle and it makes this gun look much better. It seems like the weapons should have been more interactive, the knife sheath should have had a sigma-peg, the machine gun should have had a peg and removable magazine and fit better, the launcher's sight should have been attachable to the machine gun, and the launcher should have been able to accommodate the knife as a bayonet. Never the less, this is an alright set, a decent addition to the joes, and the weapons all fit in the locker (though it has no foam insert). Grade: B

Transformers: Alternators Nemesis Prime - Chaddymac was kind enough to sell me a sealed Alternators Nemesis Prime and I picked it up from my mail place yesterday. Despite all the negatives here, and there are a lot which damn it to mediocrity, I do like some of the ideas presented here and feel that if they had a few more passes at it to get the shoulders and legs right, add more arm articulation, and find better uses for all that kibble, this mold as Nemesis Prime would have been a winner. If nothing else though, I finally feel like I have a leader for my Alt 'Cons (sorry Shockblast, but you've gotta have 2 hands and/or a face to lead in my book) and that's a big deal in my collection. Grade: C

Casino Royale widescreen DVD - I bought this solely on recommendations, I meant to see it in theaters despite not really being into the casting or trailers, but it slipped by. Basically, I figured that since I have all the rest of the 007 films on VHS or DVD, might as well just pull the trigger here no matter how bad it was, save some money on release-day sales. I watched the film today, the mix is no good for non-premium sound systems like mine, I couldn't make out a third of the dialogue here, especially when Craig was mumbling (which was quite a bit). This movie has some solid spots and is mainly entertaining, but drags badly in the last third (it is the longest Bond film ever which doesn't help that dragging any) and the final motivations and actions surrounding Vesper Lynd are way off the mark. Craig's looks are impossible for me to get past, he's not just odd-looking, he's actively ugly to the point of distraction and he looks way older than his 38. Craig's acting also seemed a little bland at times which didn't interplay well with his almost over-the-top intensity at others. And why is it lately that Bond can't shoot worth crap? Maybe it's because that stupid P99 gets knocked out of his hands constantly, it's totally the wrong gun for Bond since it's a much bigger gun than the PPK and Bond's original Beretta 418. Anyway, some of the action pieces are very good, but a few like the climax scene reek of Wade/Purvis' over-the-top silliness. Ultimately, it's an entertaining entry that's still somewhat flawed in my mind, and the DVD set is way light on features. Grade: C+

ROTS Role Play Clone Trooper Blaster - on clearance for $4.98 at Target, this is actually the Stormtrooper blaster, for the first time in black and with silver weathering - this is an old mold, originally Kenner's 3-position Electronic Laser Rifle just before ESB (they later took out the motor and stole the keen stock which makes it look inaccurate). This one alternates 2 OT blaster sounds, the barrel lights up red and the tip does as well with a second LED. Nifty mold done in great colors, remolding has stolen its stock which is necessary for the look and added a ton of text, but is still pretty decent. Grade: B

TAC Capture of Tantive IV Battle Pack - doesn't quite translate in the box because the middle is so empty and the figures are so awkwardly posed, but you can't go wrong with 2 sets of troopers and a not-too-bad Vader so it makes a good opener. There's something funny about the back of box photo, it seems the hallway is built from some plastic bits, the walls being from a large R2-D2, maybe the outside of the Ep 1 R2 carry case/playset. This is the first and likely last Battle Pack I'll ever get in general, BP figures are not usually that well-painted or assembled, or there's something wonky - plus, I have most of 'em anyway. Vader's the same Commtech figure with interrogation droid, Vader's built a little sloppy with a small gap at the waist, the cape is attached too low, and the seams on the cape are very sloppy and they leave it unfolded so it looks like it's inside out - strangely, this is the only figure in the set with waist articulation. The Rebel Fleet Troopers are the same bodies as the POTJ trooper but the heads are new - each helmet is removable, and they have different heads; the limitations are there still though, the arms are meant to come together in front of him but don't really meet on their own. Unfortunately, they used that teeny rebel blaster instead of the slightly larger version. The stormtroopers are based off the Evolutions Sandtrooper mold, the belt is on backwards so the ammo pouch will look like the holster, this looks like crap without the squares on there but luckily the belt can easily be rotated about so the squares are in the front. The Stormies have a tighter sculpt that's different from the VOTC stormie, a slightly whiter and crisper look, and a wider stance - but the lack of waist articulation does hamper it some. Overall, this is a decent set for the money, none of the figures are perfect but it does bolster the ranks. Grade: B

My Amazon.com ship came in:

Jabra C220 Stereo Earbud Headset - I wanted to use my phone as an MP3 player, the stereo headset it came with the earbuds are too big for my ears and keep falling out, this Jabra one has small loops that go around the ear to keep them in place. Mic sounds crazy good on the other end, at least indoors, I haven't tried it out yet. Headphones have swappable gels, the smaller set goes deeper into my ear than I expected considering how small they are. Their speakers are decent on the treble end but lacking on the bass end. Strangely, they went with a straight jack instead of an angled one, I'm worried this will snap the peg off in the phone. Overall it's adequate, does what I want, acceptable but not great sound. Grade: C+/B-

Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset - 2 headsets in 1 day! Although not the most compact or attractive BT headset, this one has nearly perfect sound on both ends, is very light at half an ounce, and has good range and battery life. I did more research and this one seems to have the best sound at any pricepoint. There's a short boom mic attached to the small earbud, and that hooks around to the battery/antenna which hangs behind the ear - looks a little cyborgy there or like a hearing aid, but you cannot beat these results. Grade: A

Well, a WM trip yesterday netted me not much of what I wanted, but a few things I liked the looks of.

TAC R2-D2 - Kinda lame. They took the mold I liked and put it on the droid guy I like best, they didn't chrome the dome (I prefer them not chromed), then they went back and said "how can we ruin this?". Painting on oil stains and soot on the dome and yellow flame reflections were a great way to do that. Cutting holes in the legs to accommodate the jets, thus weakening the parts was another. And then promising to not reissue this figure without the dopey flame paint was the best way. I like the figure, I even like how they did the leg jets, but the finished version is sloppy (loose ankles, weak legs, bowed feet, messy paint) - I would have preferred no yellow reflection paint, no oil stain or sooty dome, and swappable legs for the jets. Grade: B-/C+

Zizzle Pirates of the Carribean 3 Gibbs - Gibbs is pretty good in the sculpt, the paint is on par with this line which means "alright, both hit and miss" and his hair is black without the gray it needs. He comes with just 1 accessory, a pistol, but his vest is easily removable since his arms can pop out and in without much difficulty. Grade: A-

POTC3 Marty - Marty isn't quite as recognizable in the facial sculpt, but it sells the character ok. The articulation is on-par with the rest of the line, I'm glad they didn't phone this in simply because he's a little person. He's got 2 accessories, the first is the duck-foot pistol - a gold flintlock with 4 barrels like splayed fingers - and the latter is Jack the monkey in Chinese garb - the monkey sports only waist articulation, and it's hard to believe this is the first figure of this monkey bastage. Grade: B+

Hasbro Spider-Man 3:
Black-costume Spider-Man (super articulated) - Overall, this might be a fun toy for kids, but the smaller size means less-subtle articulation, and removing 2 of the most important joints is tragic. The body sculpt is pretty nice and the paint work is surprisingly solid, but the figure being slightly bigger scale than the others and having a tiny head hold him back again. Finally, if you're going to charge a painful $8 a pop, include not just a web but another accessory like a clip-on web-blast or something. Grade: C

New Goblin (disk launching sky stick) - Overall, New Goblin is not the most visually exciting villain, but this figure does capture the character pretty well and delivers most of the articulation you'd ever want for this guy alongside some decent accessories. I think I like him more as a generic villain figure than as the character, which I suppose means he's got the toy thing working right. Grade: B-

Spider-Man (super-articulated, red & blue costume) - Overall, this one has a very "toy" look but also feels frail (not like it's going to break though). The look is pure Spidey, but not quite enough of the needed movie styling. The articulation limitations and missing articulation hamper the playability of this guy which sinks it. And again we're an overpriced figure with not enough accessories. It's the same grade as Black Spidey but for different reasons. Grade: C

Green Goblin (first movie) - Overall, it's clear Hasbro's trying to cover the entire Spidey movie franchise with this line rather than covering just the newest movie, and as crass as that may be, it worked on me with this figure (and I'll admit I'm tempted to get Doc Ock too). While the glider is phoned in, the figure works surprisingly well in both deco and sculpt, and even has a vital type of articulation that none of the other main character figures in the line have. The pricepoint holds this one back a little though. Grade: B-

Well, I took an earlier trip out and had some successes:

Spider-Man 3 Doc Ock (second movie) - This figure is alright, and the gimmick is more fun than I expected. The claws all move, the lower ones have 2 sets of hinges per "finger", and the lower tentacles are poseable via a wire inside. The figure's got the basic look of the character down, and the shoulders are surprisingly universal-joints instead of just swivels which they look like they'd be - nice hiding job Hasbro! He's also in scale with Spidey which is keen. There's plenty to complain about too, though: the head is ball-jointed but designed so it can only swivel, waist of a ball joint, and the ball jointing for the head makes the neck look wrong for the character to boot. The paint scheme is too simplistic and the sculpt is a tad simple and soft. The upper tentacles aren't poseable, they're rubbery so you can move them but they won't stay put. The wrists really need articulation, I can live without elbows here but he needed at least that left wrist goin'. The left hip is not articulated due to it activating the gimmick, this wouldn't be a big deal if the figure weren't so damn hard to stand upright (the trick is to lean him slightly forward). And more of a nit, but I would have liked to see him come with an accessory, perhaps a ball of precious tridium and a money bag. Oh, and the packaging bio claims his tentacles are adamantium, but the movie never said that (though Doc Ock in the comic did have an adamantium set at one time). Overall, this is a decent and fun figure that could be better and shouldn't be so expensive, a tiny bit more work and he'd be a significantly better figure. Grade: C+

Hot Wheels Ford GTX-1 - quite snazzy, a topless version of the Ford GT.

HW X-Raycer Nerve Hammer - a redeco, but the key here is it's glow in the dark inside, and lots of it, very cool!

TAC Galactic Marine x2 - Nice figure, the deco is weathered a little strange and the inclusion of the rubbery thin Evolutions clone rifle is a bad choice, but good articulation and a solid look (although the face under the helmet is unrecognizable). The helmeted head can't really turn which is a shame, the material is stiffer than his gun, so he can't look where he's aiming too well. Grade: B+

TAC Airborne Trooper - Very nice figure, the removable helmet leaves a millimeter of chin showing but it's easily overlooked. The purse with small pistol is quite nifty, and the fatter blaster is appreciated. The deco weathering's a little cheap, and the detail on the skirt is nonexistent, but the articulation is good and he looks quite tough. Grade: A-

TAC Mustafar Lava Miner - a decent figure, good overall though up close the details aren't as fine as they could be. I really like the accessory with the removable lava cup, but it is hard to find a nice pose for him to hold it, and it takes up a lot of space. The figure's got good articulation but below-the-knee swivels are worthless when there's ankle articulation and insulting when no swivels are above the knee; also, the figure's biggest drawback is the wide-stance hips, a universal or ball joint here would have been a much better choice if this extreme pose is required. Grade: C+/B-

TAC Super Battle Droid - the chest flames don't work for crap AND they leave 2 small holes in his chest, great choice there big H; the leg flame doesn't stay on too well either. This figure has great upper body articulation, I love the universal-jointed shoulders, elbows, and mid-torso. The lower body doesn't stack up though, the hips are splayed but just standard joints (a huge disappointment), the knees are standard joints but the leg material is still weak and rubbery, and ankle articulation is sorely missed. The deco is a tad plain, the gunmetal blue is a little more plain this time around, and there's a heavy paintwash that seems needed but at the same time a bit overboard. Grade: B-/C+
