A good knife: A knife is a very useful tool and hard to replace with anything else.
Something to collect water in: You can live long without water. If you can find a source of water, having something to collect it in is important.
A flint sparker: They take more practice than a match or lighter, but flint sparkers work under a wider range of conditions and don't run out.
Some rope or cord: Rope, like a knife with just too useful and hard to replace.
Oh, I'll say an ax: Not knowing what type of island this is, I'll get an ax a long.
