View Full Version : Possible DT Ben on eBay

Recently I've been looking for a new Ben for my collection. From time to time I'll see people selling what they call DT figures. Most of the these are clearly fakes. It's been a while since I've seen a fake DT Ben or Vader, so when I saw this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270222139597&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=017) in my search it caught my attention. I tagged it because I was personally curious to see how much a fake DT Ben went for. Well, the more I looked the more I starting wondering if it might be real.

The seller seems to be on the level. She's (I'm assuming it's a she with all the Barbie stuff) doesn't seem be running this as a scam, either as the know-it-all seller or the knows-nothing seller. Now the fact the she's ended the auction early to get it authenticated has me very curious. Those aren't the actions of someone looking to cheat their buyer. But that's not to say the seller isn't the victim of someone else scam.

I'm not convicted it's real give the rarity of this figure, but I'll give better odds than when I first saw it. Right now I'll give it 10 to 1 odds of being real. That's much better than the 1,000 to 1 I gave it to begin with. What do you guys think?

Well, she ended it early to go AFA, so she didn't know about it before and now it's ruined. What a shame, a possible real double-telescoping Obi-Wan gone to the dark side.

Unless Tom Derby starting working for AFA, these aren't the people I'd go to. Tom is the real expert in this field. And I'd trust him before any of the jokers at AFA. Like I said before, I'm curious to find out if it's real.
