I just woke up, so I won't have lunch until 1a.m. (tomorrow). I'm about to barbecue salmon for the family for dinner and I'll take left-overs from that.

I was going to have yogurt, but it was all expired. Instead I had pastrami sandwich.I have some yogurt that I need to eat pretty soon. It was at my parents' house for a week when my fridge was out of commission. Still tastes all right.

My lunch is about the same everyday. Today was peanut butter jam sandwich, some Welch's black cherry/concord grape juice, and some cool ranch Doritos. I usually have cran-raspberry juice. The chips are from a variety pack that also has Cheetos, Nacho Cheese Doritos, Lays Potato Chips, Ruffles, and Fritos. If my sandwich is something like cheese or lunch meat, I'll have a granola bar.

I don't really have a formal lunch on the weekends. I just snack on something in the middle of the day. Perhaps a Lean Pocket.

I usually snack a couple times while working... a pack of pb crackers around noon, a granola bar around 3, anda rice crispy treat around 6. All while drinking a half gallon or so of water, and a gatorade (summer time ups it to over a gallon).

Hit Baja Fresh, decided to go with something new, they have salad burritos, I got the chicken caesar, pretty good really and a buck cheaper than their other burritos. I also got a steak soft taco, should have asked for no salsa, I'm a purist - meat, onions, cilantro - but it was a'ight.

My lunch today was, in a roundabout sort of way, free.

I had to run to Walgreens for Mrs. Solo last night and as I was walking in I spotted a $5 bill on the ground and yoinked that lad.

So today's Taco Bell (Fiesta Potatoes and 2 Cheesy Bean and Rice burritos) were basically gratis of the unlucky individual who also had to make a quick run to the store. I'll think fondly of him or her again later when I shove the remaining dollar into the vending machine at work!

Always a good choice.

I ended up having lunch early today since I didn't have breakfast.

So just now I'm eating a bowl of steakhouse beans (new flavor). Pretty good actually, considered I don't normally like baked beans of any sort. I drained most of the juice from them though as the sauce typcially contained the worst parts for you, nutritionally speaking.

Always a good choice.

The best part is that it's free. Every time my co-workers get Chinese food, they get combos and half of them don't eat the wonton soup. Rather than toss it out, I put it in my drawer in the fridge here at work and just heat them up for the next couple days either for breakfast, lunch or both! LOL

I don't really like mustard, but a small amount with the Miracle Whip is great on a sandwich made with some sort of meat (roast beef, ham, turkey, etc.). That's what I had today, a package of sliced lunch meat (honey turkey I think) that I got from Fred Meyer. Between not getting my recommended daily allowance of caffeine yesterday and putzing around in the yard until super late, I never even thought of it once I got home. Perhaps tonight.

All that grillin' is certainly fillin'

Meat can bind you up sometimes, but worth it.

Personally my daily allowance of caffeine is at least 4 to 5 cups of joe.

Todays lunch is leftover Pork Chops seasoned with salt and peper, a little sage, nicely browned then canned peas (not frozen) poured over them, steamed and simmered, with a side of rice, and apple sauce. Sounds funky, but it really is good. Some kind of Australian peasant dish me mum used to make for us six kids back in the day.

Whereabouts in PA?? I'm in Pittsburgh you know.
I was in Williamsport. Just flew in Friday night to Wilkes-Barre and drove to Williamsport. Worked on Saturday and then flew back today.

Getting up early to drive back to Wilkes-Barre to catch the flight home kind of messed with my normal meal schedule. Had an egg mcmuffin for breakfast at 5:30, which is actually 2:30am at home. Had a strawberry banana smoothie and a cinnamon raisin bagel in the Chicago airport. Nothing on the plane but cranapple juice and pretzels on the first leg of the flight, cranapple juice and Biscoff cookies on the flight to Seattle. Once home I had a brownie of some sort that my mom brought in and some Gatorade in between breaks of my 3 hour lawn mowing session.

Between the noise of the plane and the car and the lawnmower, my head is still spinning. It's been close to a 24 hour day at this point, having been up for over 21 hours with only the occasional nodding off for a few seconds.

Hot dog, medium popcorn, large Sierra Mist. Gotta support the local independent movie theater that's also one of the original Hollywood Movie Palaces.

That hot dog was GOOOOD as hell too! I only eat 1 hot dog every month or less (it causes my skin to react a little) but this one really got it right, no condiments needed. The only thing was it was so good that it negatively impacted the quality of the popcorn afterwards, and I usually LOOOOOVE movie popcorn.

(I had a sub from the closest place yesterday.) I had a Zesty Chicken bowl and a cheesy bean and rice burrito and at least 4 glasses of diet pepsi. (I know the diet doesn't make much sense considering the other crap I ate, but I needed a large amount of caffeine at the time.) I'm still at work now and will be until 10:00 or 11:00 tonight so I had a large pot of coffee for dinner. Yum.

Yesterday it was a BBQ bacon ranch chicken sandwich, onion rings, and lemonade at Farmer Boys (a local SoCal "fasteraunt" chain). Nummy and healthy. * :o

* = term deamed healthy as it includes "ingredients" and "food stuff."

They should just make that the only friggin' option for that meal. "#2 with a Hi-C Orange" is a phrase my sister and I have been saying for the past 20 years fairly consistently.

Tomorrow will be a no-lunch Tuesday, the dentist frowns on me eating his fingers.

No finger foods for you, then?

I have no idea what I'm having for lunch today. I DO have some black bean burgers in the freezer here. I guess I could have those.

No finger foods... no foods at all. I ended up getting a wisdom tooth extracted, so I had a liquid early dinner instead, the AM-PM near the dentist only had slim fast, so that was "lunch" I guess. I bought some other fluid nourishment for recovery. Today it was Easy Mac and a vanilla Ensure, then when I was going mad from all the sweets (yogurt, ensure, slim fast, pudding), I had 2 servings of instant mashed potatoes. I am guessing the same for tomorrow, but hoping to add solids tonight and add variety.

Friday was a Dreadnork lunch (no, I didn't misspell the name; read on) of chocolate donuts and grape Powerade. Close enough to the real thing for me.

Yesterday was a Prime Rib Burger from Carl's Jr. Not bad, interesting mix of tastes (swiss cheese, burger patty, a horseradish/BBQ type sauce, ciabata-type bun). Also tried their "new" skin-on fries.

20 year class reunion picnic yesterday, so it was a potluck. Someone made some sort of Mexican style corn casserole that I kept going back for. It was pretty good.

You should go. This was a good experience. I got hugs from a lot of women. That's the most action I've had my whole life.

It was dinner, but I had a small lunch to build up for it, and I went the buffet bulge for a change (I don't do that much anymore). At Hometown Buffet (with a coupon! ), here's what I gorged on:

- 2 drink refills (Coke Cherry, lemonade)
- piece of garlic bread
- mashed potatoes (2 helpings, one w/ gravy)
- few french fries
- boiled garlic potatoes
- steamed rice (2 helpings)
- yellow veggie rice (2 helpings)
- Mexican rice
- enchilada
- 2 fish "nuggets" w/ tartar sauce
- corn
- green beans
- carrots
- meatloaf
- cornbread stuffing w/ gravy
- 2 chicken pieces (fried, roasted)
- orange chicken
- vanilla/choc swirl ice cream w/ hot fudge

Mind you, the portions were small; I went for variety, rather than huge quantities. I was quite full by the end. :o

I have never eaten a movie house hot dog. I don't know why, but I fear them. Popcorn there? Defintely. Sodas? Sure. Icee (coolest drink in town)? When they're there, but not much anymore. Candy? Not anymore either, but I did (usually Red Vines). Nachos? Once or twice, seldom now. Tofu salad with organic veggies with kale? You know it's coming, but no. No way.
