I think these are most of the MOVIE scenes I'm doing in a nutshell. I also want to do as much Expanded Universe from the stories I like (and not from the ones I don't care for), given the figures they make. I may have forgotten some scene here or there, and some are story-boarded, such as lightsaber duels with multiple takes on them (and piles of the same characters' figures required). I'll add stuff in when I think of them.

I can't wait to see how this all sets up one day!

Okay I'll work off of Tycho's list and post the ones I have either made or plan for. While Tycho seems to plan on making scene specific smaller dioramas, I am planning on larger more encompasing dioramas. So some on his list have been omitted on mine for either inclusion into a larger diorama or tat I don't plan on making those specific scenes.

ANH:

Blockade Runner battle
Lars Homestead/Purchase of the Droids/Sandcrawler: for this I hope to build a custom Sandcrawler to scale with the figures.
Meeting with Obi-Wan
Mos Eisley/Chalmun's Cantina/Docking Bay 94: Oh hell's yeah with the new BMF!
Death Star: this being one of the LARGE dioramas to include at least: Conference room/Tarkin threatens Leia at Alderaan/huge conclomerate inc. ROTJ scenes/Dentention Block AA-23 (vs. Death Star Troopers)/Escape into the Trash Compactor (vs. Stormtroopers)/Trash Compactor (Wal-Mart exclusive cinema scenes)/Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader
Yavin Base (Rebel Pilots and Tactical Station)/Yavin Medal Ceremony
Death Star Trench Run (X-wing and TIEs)

ESB:
Hoth: Large Diorama which will include all on Tycho's list. Pondering a second BMF for this but will prolly settle on one of the smaller ones as it's goign to be in the background anyway.
TaunTaun Patrol
Wampa Attack
Echo Base
Wampa Cave
Han saves Luke in TaunTaun
Bacta Tank
Probot Discovery
Battle of Hoth (w. vintage Turret / Probot, Attack Base, ATAT, snowspeeders)

Dagobah: Smaller diorama but to encompass Yoda's home/Darkside cave/x-wing swamp and some trees for Luke's training

Bounty Hunters on the Star Destroyer
Cloud City (large conglomerate of scenes in custom playset)
"We would be honored if you'd join us [for dinner on Cloud City]"
Han's Bespin Torture
The search for Solo

ROTJ:

Death Star:See ANH listing

Jabba's Palace: Medium sized diorama to include:
Jabba's Droid Torture Dungeon
Jabba's Throne Room
Jabba's Band
Rancor Pit
Sarlaac Battle (with custom, or hopefully Hasbro Sailbarge and skiffs)

Luke's last meeting with Yoda: TO be part of the ESB dio
Endor Mission Rebel briefing scene

Battle of Endor: Medium diorama to encompass the major scenes there:
Speederbike chase
Shield Bunker outside AND inside
Ewok villiage

Space Battle (with almost every Imperial and Rebel fighter ship) though this really will just be the ships hanging from the ceiling with a space painted background on the ceiling and top 1 1/2 ft of the walls.

PT listing to come shortly-but this will be where most of my largest dios are created to account for the many HUNDRED clones I have. (IIRC, I'm closing in on 2000 between AOTC and ROTS clones combined

Unlike Tycho, I do not plan on doing much if any EU scenes. But I'll post that portion after I have time to write up my PT dio plans.

For Return of the Jedi, whatever you [Sal] plan to do for the inside of the shield generator base sounded very interesting to me. Will it be EU or just what you saw in the movie? How extensive do you plan to be in building the base? Will it be part of your Battle of Endor diorama or a separate smaller scene?

And yes: for all of my starfighter scenes (primarily anyway), I'll be hanging my ships from the ceiling with fishing wire. In my "black room," I'll use the corners:

ANH will have two TIES and Vader's ship ganged up on Luke, alone. I think that's more effective of symbolizing the drama than having Biggs and Wedge in there, or a Falcon coming to the rescue. The only Y-wing (one of 2 I own) to be featured in ANH displays will be landed at Yavin Base.

ROTJ will have all the fighters hanging from the ceiling in another corner - designed to be the largest amount of any ships displayed, being it is the final battle of the whole saga. 2 TIE interceptors, 4 TIEs, a B-wing, A-wing, 2 X-wings, and a Y-wing.

ROTS is deliberately downscaled so as to not overshadow ROTJ: there will be 1 ARC-170, the 2 Jedi fighters, versus 5 Vulcher Droid fighters and 3 Tri-Droid Fighters.

In my "white room" which is mostly ESB, I'll have the '95 Falcon hanging with probably 3 Twin Pod Cloud Cars escorting it over my custom Cloud City. I haven't gotten the Cloud Cars yet, but Hasbro's response on re-releasing this vehicle will basically steer me to eBay when the time comes. I'd always hoped to get new Cloud Cars - and in 2004 bought all the pilots I'd need...but....

I'll also hang a TIE bomber near my Hoth display just because I liked the vehicle. I own 2 - one to dock in a custom Star Destroyer I hope to one day build.

In my "green room," (Naboo, Endor), I plan to hang 4 N-1's (hopefully with different pilot figures instead of multiple Ric Olies and an Anakin) and about 25 Vulcher Droid Fighters. There's not too much there, but the N-1's are very "Naboo," and I don't think they belong in "he black room" with all the other ships. This spreads it around a bit.

Stuff like Snowspeeders will be hung, but inside display fixtures of the ground battles, so I didn't go on listing things like the Republic Gunships, and so forth. They fly, but are relegated to ground battle displays in other rooms.

I'm not sure when I'll post my EU scene listings. I might be able to base some of it off a visual inspection of my comics / novels that I have stored in a chronology, coupled with the figure list. But I've made customs, too - such as a teenage Obi-Wan to fight Xanatos, etc. and I may or may not want to continue my plans to display that, now that Hasbro has been making real EU figures to a degree that's much more satisfying for me than what had been done before (what with Quinlan, A'Sharad, The Dark Woman, Villie, Talon Kaarde, Kir Kanos, a Yuuzhan Vong, etc.)

I did buy a lot (most of) the 12" offerings between Hasbro and SideShow. I planned to "accent" my large 3 3/4" dioramas with tighter character-focused groups of the larger figures. I have:

ANH:

Yavin Base (Luke Poncho with Biggs Pilot and R2D2)
Yavin Medal Ceremony (minus Han Solo)

ESB:

TaunTaun Patrol
Wampa Attack
Echo Base Invasion by Vader with Snowtroopers and ATAT Driver
Dagobah Training
Tree Cave Battle
Bounty Hunters on the Star Destroyer
Landing on Cloud City
"Having problems with your droid?"

ROTJ:

Jabba's Throne Room
Sarlaac Battle
Endor Mission Rebel briefing scene (with Wedge, Admiral Ackbar)
Speederbike chase
Rebels vs. Imperials
Ewoks vs. Stormtroopers
Luke unmasks Vader
Jedi Ghosts

TPM:

Darth Sidious appears to the Trade Federation allies
Queen Amidala's Throne Room
Swimming to Otah Gungah
Jedi rescue the Queen in the first hanger battle
Mos Espa cast (Tatooine figures)
Darth Maul's Tatooine attack
Galactic Senate (with Valorum as chancellor)
On the starship, returning to Naboo
Gungan Sacred Place
Gungan Battle
Theed Battle / Jedi Duel

AOTC

Coruscant Speeder Chase / Club Outlander
Jango's Apartment
Obi-Wan vs. Jango Fett
The Droid Factory
Mace vs. Jango Fett
Battle of Geonosis
Jedi Duel in the Hanger
Yoda vs. Dooku

ROTS

Anakin vs. Dooku
The Jedi High Council
The Battle of Kashyyyk
Obi-Wan vs. General Grievous
Darth Sidious vs. Mace Windu
Darth Sidious vs. Yoda
Mustafar Lightsaber Duel

I think that covers most of it.

For the most part Tycho as I mentioned my dioramas will be movie specific. That's what people can more readily identify with. Only some rare cases will I create an EU specific dio-case in point-Mace's troops.

Now for my PT dio plans:
TPM:
Theed-another medium-large sized dio. This one promises to be one of the toughest ones as the deco is very ornate and specific and cannot as readily be replicated with ease due to the architecture of Theed.
It will include all of the following scenes at the least:
Queen Amidala's Throne Room
Jedi rescue the Queen
Theed Battle / Jedi Duel
Final "Peace" ceremony

Royal Starship Escape (with all the astromechs): This is easily done as I already have the ship, just need to attach the droids (not permanently though).

Otah Gungah: Not sure of all I want to do here, though for sure I do want to do the Gungan high council. I'm thinking I want to do an exterior type shot and for that would actually like to do this in my 55 gallon fish tank. If I can make it lighted somehow without hurting the fish, that's the goal.

Mos Espa: medium to large encompassing dio includes at least:
Watto's shop (good place for that new droid from the factory set)
Anakin's hovel-partial inside/outside
Jira's fruit stand
food stand (that Jar Jar steals that creature from)
Podracer Hanger/Podrace

Jedi Council-small, just the sets that were out. easy to do.

Galactic Senate (with all delegations and Valorum as chancellor)-ah, I'm SO glad I bought that many Senate sets. I've got several Senator Pods that should fill my need.

Gungan Sacred Place
Gungan Battle
Space Battle (N1s and Droid Fighters)

AOTC
Palpatine's Office-this will have to be done twice-one for AOTC and one for ROTS.
Coruscant Speeder Chase / Club Outlander-oh yeah, I'm hoping eventually we'll get loads of aliens from this scene. Agira Nyrat anyone! http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nyrat_Agira
Dexter's Diner-this will be a fun set to do and can have many REAL WORLD items in it. I look forward to making this one a lot!

Kamino: medium sized dio to include at least:
Jedi Starfighter platform
Obi meets Lama Su
Obi touring Kamino
Jango's Apartment
Young clone training (Boba sized with headsets on)
Lunch room with red training clones
Clones getting their armor
Slave one platform

The Lars
The Tuskin Camp

The Droid Factory

Geonosis: LARGE set. this will be one of if not THE crowning jewel. This one will be 8ft wide, 4 ft deep and 5 ft tall. Plans have been drawn up for this for some time now and some of the materials have already been purchased. This one will be on a rolling cabinet that will be 2 ft tall and will also have a 8-12 inch lighting cabinet on top to help create the red and yellow hues found on this world.
The dio will include at least these scenes:
The Arena- this portion will account for 3 ft of the width-to show the 3 creatures; Jedi vs. Geonosians, battle droids and super battle droids; rescue of the remaining Jedi and Padme; Mace vs. Jango Fett
The Attack of the Clones! This portion to account for the other 5ft in width. I have well over 600 AOTC style clones (In fact that number is well low since I've added many of the white clones from Saga Legends). I'm prolly closer to 700 now. These clones as well as the 200+ Seperatist (battle droids, super battle droids, droiekas) army will populate that portion. In addition to these, I will include the vehicles with following to populate this:
AT-TE X1
Homing Spider Droid X2
Gunship X2
Dwarf Spider droid (at least 4)
Hailfire droid X2-3
Yes, it's going to be one VERY busy scene, but that's how I want it.

These next two will be in a small dio together:
Jedi vs Dooku in the Hanger
Yoda vs. Dooku

Anakin and Padme are married-very small dio.

ROTS to come...(I'm at work and can't post this long here.)

I love discussing dioramas with YOU, Sal.

You're absolutely the one forumite here with the most identical appreciation for these toys (as almost little pieces of art) like myself. We see them as components of larger art - the larger display. I know that's not for everybody, and some won't want to dedicate the room required for this take on the hobby - but that doesn't mean that kindred spirits who DO want to do this can't enjoy their mutual relation.

I could have simplified the above paragraph by just stating: "we think alike." But anyway...

Only some rare cases will I create an EU specific dio-case in point-Mace's troops.

The purple annoyed me. Sam Jackson wanted a unique lightsaber. Fine. Then Hasbro exploited the cause for purple and it just bugs me. That has no bearing on whether you can enjoy it. Knock yourself out. I'm just making a statement.

Now for my PT dio plans:
TPM:
Theed-another medium-large sized dio. This one promises to be one of the toughest ones as the deco is very ornate and specific and cannot as readily be replicated with ease due to the architecture of Theed.

Yeah. Theed will be very hard. I still plan to confine my display to fixtures I can push against the wall and mostly designate their width to having the Royal Starship (totally open, to display the crew on board) in one, and the Generator Duel Playset as part of the display in the other - which will include an AAT Tank and Flash Speeder on the street level, and several of the hanger playsets combined for the interior portion. Again, take note that these are 2 displays.

In the first, with the Royal Starship, I want to have the Jedi leaping off the overpass to attack the Security Battle Droids and rescue Amidala, and I also want the river flowing through the bottom of it, with the potential to display a vehicle toy of the Gungan Bongo Sub should they ever make it. This is one of 2 Royal Starships I bought - and it's the one with all the astomechs displayed "repairing it."

The other display will be the street battle with a cut-away view into the hanger. The main characters will be in the hanger fighting, while the Jedi will have engaged Darth Maul. On the streets, I'll be using various Naboo personnel versus the Droids, and as I mentioned earlier, have the Flash Speeder (hopefully one day a Gian Speeder) and the AAT Tank. To bolster the Trade Federation, I'm going to add a "landed" Vulcher Droid Fighter.

Otah Gungah: Not sure of all I want to do here,

Go to PetsMart and check out the hamster tunnels and activity balls. You can link all that stuff up. I don't yet know if it will work, but I look forward to the day I can test it out. I may just decide to do that while IN PetsMart, before I make a large purchase. I'll set it all up in the appropriate sized aquarium which I'll also purchase.

If I can make it lighted somehow without hurting the fish, that's the goal.

While I admire people's aquariums, I don't have the purvue to take care of one as required. I do great with maintaining my cats' litterboxes, but even that annoys me. I definitely don't want to mix a display with live animals whose habitat I'll have to regularly clean. I'm not sure of how water will affect the toys long-term either. Or if the plastics, when soaked for that long, will release toxins that might kill the fish. There's too many variables for my taste.

In model railroading, there's an expoxy called "fake water," which modelers use to make lakes, rivers, etc. I'm thinking a piece of plexiglass can be cut as a divider and put like 1 /16 of an inch inside a fish tank, and then the fake water can be molded into the space between the two panels. Meanwhile, I purchased tons of "battle bags" from Episode One to get those alien Naboo fish. I'll be setting those inside, here and there, as I add "fake water," and eventually arrive at having "suspended fish" and a blurred "underwater" view of the Otah Gungah display. Gungans might not be every fan's favorite alien race in Star Wars, but for a diorama-maker, the underwater city presents a unique challenge that heightens one's interest in the craftmanship hobby.

Jedi Council-small, just the sets that were out. easy to do.

I guess I'm going to have to do this 3 times over - for each movie, to show the make-ups of the different Councils, and Obi-Wan and Anakin eventually sitting in on one, with hologram figures as the Clone Wars takes its toll. I think while the displays are relatively simple, in terms of the storyline, they prove very interesting.

Galactic Senate (with all delegations and Valorum as chancellor)-ah, I'm SO glad I bought that many Senate sets. I've got several Senator Pods that should fill my need.

I'm curious to see this. I couldn't justify having that many extra Palpatine's (especially since it's the wrong outfit for the figure), Yoda, and shocktroopers (cool clones - but some of the style from which I need the least!) I really want to see what I can do with disposeable, foam cereal bowls which I paint to look metallic. Some delegations bug me still: the Ithorians and Rodians may tend to look like cantina scum unless they make those species respective senators. I was very glad we got Po Nudo. The Senate is one location where I might actually be glad to replace older figures I bought for the scenes (like extra Greedos) so as to make a "real" Senate display.

AOTC

Coruscant Speeder Chase / Club Outlander-oh yeah, I'm hoping eventually we'll get loads of aliens from this scene. Agira Nyrat anyone!

I'm buying extras of figures like Bane Malor when he comes out to fill-in for dudes on the street. Since Coruscant is a more human-populated world, I keep my eyes open for GI Joe or Indiana Jones figures, or whatnot, that might look OK displayed in the bar. The Danni Faytooni and Ack-Med Beq figures were nice boons to the scene. I agree, Nyrat Agira would be an awesome figure as the scantily-clad ladies were a brief focal point of the scene. I wonder if we'll ever get a bartender (Bufon Taire) for the Club. I doubt it as he doesn't seem to appear to have made it on screen and unlike Wuher, he had no spoken lines.

Dexter's Diner-this will be a fun set to do and can have many REAL WORLD items in it. I look forward to making this one a lot!

Dexter's is another locale I collect extra aliens for - podracer figures could be very helpful here.

Kamino: Lunch room with red training clones

Gosh we're lucky we got those figures. I think it's very likely that our polling we did in 2004 assisted with that. There are a few figures we voted for that I think resonated with Darrel and the team. I'd definitely say "the training clone" was one of them.

Clones getting their armor

At a Factory 2 U outlet (did they go out of business?) I found a lot of clearance-priced Clones with removeable armor and speeder bikes. I picked up like 6 or more to use in order to suggest this part of the touring Kamino scene.

We still really need an AOTC Obi-Wan done pretty much in the style of the TPM "Naboo" Obi-Wan. You could customize it very easily, but really - this is Hasbro's responsibility and I'd rather buy 1 figure from them, than 2 more to take apart - especially when they can make it with stuff they already have for production, though a new AOTC head for Obi-Wan is in order. (I think they can use the Comic 2-pack one that came with Alpha - that might be alright. The first-run AOTC head sculpts for Obi-Wan sucked big time!)

The Lars

Geeze. When will Hasbro get on the ball? Cliegg, Owen, and Beru are at the top of the most-wanted polls on how many fan sites? (rhetorical question)

The Droid Factory

The big flying droid that catches C-3PO would be cool here. I thought that would have been a great piece for the build-a-droid concept.

Geonosis: Our displays will be incredible - won't they?

I know it sort of bores you, but you need to buy more Separatist Droids. Geonosis was the darn factory they're built at! Do you think the armies should be relatively EVEN? Or don't you think the Droids should OUTNUMBER the Clones - as if anything, the Clones' victory should then demonstrate they are superior.

In addition to these, I will include the vehicles with following to populate this:
AT-TE X1
Homing Spider Droid X2
Gunship X2
Dwarf Spider droid (at least 4)
Hailfire droid X2-3
Yes, it's going to be one VERY busy scene, but that's how I want it.

Your display will be close to exactly like mine. These will be fun for both of us to do. Hoth and Endor are the largest ground battles of the OT that we can make, but the vehicle types shown were limited: AT-ATs, AT-STs, Snowspeeders and speederbikes. The appeal of this PT ground battle is the wide variety of vehicles (toys) you can use and appreciate in the scene!

I think you have to be a diorama builder to appreciate the above paragraph. I don't think the PT haters consider this if they are not into the hobby as we are - and some here don't buy ANY of the vehicles. I don't think either of us can even IMAGINE that. The toys accessorize the figures so well - they're even the main attraction very often.

jedi master sal

The Gungan city would be enclosed. None of those breathing slots. I don't want to take the time to fill those in, so Hamster tunnels are not the option for me here. Actually I'm hoping to find a glass sculpture of several connected spheres. I can make the top and bottom parts of Otoh Gunga to look as they do in the movie. It's getting the lighting in there and making the spheres waterproof that's going to be the trick.

I'll use something similar to "fake water" in the dios that require it.

I definitely need to buy more aliens for the Senate, but I'm hoping I can eventually get these cheap on eBay. So I'm not going crazy with buying these just yet. Besides you never know if Hasbro WILL make one of those unique senators that you might not have thought they'd make.

As the the extra armor, there are all of those training clones for one. SO I've already got enough extra armor.

AOTC SA Obi will eventually be done. I'll wait for him.

Agreed that we need the PT Lars. Owen and Beru aren't that much different so I'd buy two sets of them. It's Cliegg that we really need. I'm looking forward to a hovering "wheelchair" sans wheels.

"The big flying droid that catches C-3PO would be cool here. I thought that would have been a great piece for the build-a-droid concept." That's what I said. Instead of some crappy repaints (mind you I like C-3PX but it's TOO simple).

I disagree about having the same or more seperatist. I've always wanted an overpowering invasion force. I love the look of the AOTC clones. So this was a natural for me.

Well to collect or not to collect vehicles are up to one's own perogative. But like you I find it a little puzzling. But thankfully, this helps the collecting community. If everyone collected the same, there either wouldn't be enough or too much product for everyone. Carded vs loose, 2 of each, vehicles or no, OT vs PT vs complete saga...none of it is wrong. Just different.

I got a few of mine on clearance actually - like when the Wal-Mart exclusive cantina sets went on sale in 2002 (Greedo, Momaw, Ponda).

Other times I bought some loose figures from sales or at Comic Con, here or there.

AOTC SA Obi will eventually be done. I'll wait for him.

There's a few routes they could take with Obi-Wan. I like the hard-plastic look of the Jedi robes on the Naboo figures from TPM. They couldn't really super-articulate Obi-Wan below the waist for that figure, but yeah, they could give him a lot of arm / wrist motion ala Quinlan Vos or something. You can always use a softgoods E1 accessory pack robe on an AOTC Obi-Wan, but again, NONE of the headsculpts of Obi-Wan with his mullet look anything close to Ewan. The difference in quality is striking when you line them up next to the ROTS figures - especially the Red Leader pilot figure from the end of the E3 line. That looks like Ewan. (loved that figure)

Agreed that we need the PT Lars. Owen and Beru aren't that much different so I'd buy two sets of them. It's Cliegg that we really need. I'm looking forward to a hovering "wheelchair" sans wheels.

Yeah, in the polling, I was quite surprised that some folks really wanted separate ROTS figures for Owen and Beru. I suppose I might had I ANY figures of young Owen and Beru already - but they had much more to do and more scenes in AOTC (along with Cliegg who like you, I really want as well). So AOTC Lars figures would really seem to be the priority. I wonder if Hasbro will ever re-release that homestead playset they're coming out with, with new Lars figures since, in a second production run, their costs on the tooling might have been paid for by then. It might suck for a lot of us who are very tempted to get the homestead, even with the old figures packed in.

I am probably buying that homestead battlepack set, but I am keeping open the option to refuse it as well.

I disagree about having the same or more seperatist. I've always wanted an overpowering invasion force. I love the look of the AOTC clones. So this was a natural for me.

Cool. You're allowed to enjoy your preferences and it will result in a different take on the scene from mine, so we'll both have differences to appreciate.

Well to collect or not to collect vehicles are up to one's own perogative. But like you I find it a little puzzling.

Yeah, the darn vehicles, from way back to the KENNER days, were a huge attraction for the line. Here you had figures which could have just enough detail and articulation to be fun to play with, but who fit in X-wings, TIE Fighters, and the fantastic (original) Millennium Falcon vehicle / playset which made the toyline special from its inception. Then stuff like the AT-AT and the Snowspeeder and Slave-One came along to further KENNER along. I knew it was part of what I was so nostalgic for when Hasbro brought it back in 1995. I thought "I can get fleets of X-wings and TIEs now?! Alright!!!"

I probably would have bought if it were 'the figures only.' But vehicles make the line super-fun (as would PLAYSETS!!! - if you're reading Hasbro)

Cool. You're allowed to enjoy your preferences and it will result in a different take on the scene from mine, so we'll both have differences to appreciate.

Why thank you for your permission, heh heh.

Ahem , yes playsets.... Well if done "right" (which has so many variables from collector to collector) would make some diorama building moot.

And honestly, in many cases, I'd be very happy with that. As of right now I don't have the time, space or money to do the types of dioramas I want to do.

Space may come as early as Fall as we're looking into a home as I speak. I'm sure I could find a way to make some time available. However it's the money issue. I'm looking at 2010 before I really get indepth involved in these larger dios.

However I do already have plans for a dio website (not to compete with Niubniubs either, but more a companion site to his). And I have permissions from LFL for content, so I'm good to go there.

One other "collection" I couldn't resist besides 3 3/4" and 12" were Galactic Heroes.

I'm not making dioramas per se, and they likely won't be "encased / enshrined" but be free for me to mess with. However, I do plan my purchases of the GH line in accordance to the "supplies" I'll need to do:

ANH:

Mos Eisley / Chalmun's Cantina
Death Star Escape (on the Falcon)
Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader
Death Star Trench Run (X-wing and TIEs)

ESB:

TaunTaun Patrol
Wampa Attack
Dagobah Training
Bounty Hunters on the Star Destroyer
Cloud City (large conglomerate of scenes in custom playset including dinner table)

ROTJ:

Jabba's Throne Room
Rancor Pit
Sarlaac Battle
Speederbike chase
Battle of Endor
Shield Bunker

TPM:

Gungan Battle
Theed Battle / Jedi Duel
Space Battle (N1s and Droid Fighters)

AOTC

Pursuit of Slave-One (Obi-Wan's ship anyway; hope for a GH Slave-One)
The Droid Factory
The Attack of the Clones (on the arena grounds)
Mace vs. Jango Fett
Battle of Geonosis
Jedi Duel in the Hanger
Yoda vs. Dooku

ROTS

Anakin and Obi-Wan vs. Dooku
The Battle of Kashyyyk
Obi-Wan vs. General Grievous
Darth Sidious vs. Jedi Council Members
Darth Sidious vs. Yoda

Some of these are awaiting product that hasn't been released yet, but I mainly buy them because they are cute (and I'm a sucker). I'm forgoing getting stuff now, like Order 66 GHs and such and will just pick up stuff I really like that probably goes with stuff I already own.

I'd love more vehicles to include:

Regular TIE Fighter
Y-wing
AT-AT
Snowspeeder
Slave-One
Desert Skiff
GH Sailbarge
AT-ST
TIE Interceptor
B-wing
A-wing
Vulcher Droid Fighter
Gungan Submarine
AAT Tank
Republic Gunship
Hailfire Droid
Homing Spider Droid
AT-TE
Droid Tri-Fighter
E3 Jedi Starfighters
ARC-170
Grievous' Fighter
AT-AP
TurboTank
Wookiee Catamaran
Tank Droid
Droid Gunship
Crab Droid

Probably some stuff I forgot. But some of this stuff could look really cute, smooshed-in and deformed.

We need some other beasts, too:

Jabba single-carded (or with Bib Fortuna)
Kaadu
Eopie
Acklay
Fallucia's purple worm

...and so on.

Galactic Heroes are fun and best of all - you can stuff them in a shoe box any time you feel like it, without damaging them or losing anything.

Okay so now for my ROTS dio plans:

The space battle at Coruscant
Anakin and Obi-Wan vs. Dooku
The Coruscant Opera-this is a BIG maybe. need plenty more figures to do this scene right.

The Battle of Kashyyyk-this will be one of my other huge dios. instead of wide however it will be tall. Preliminary dimensions have this at 4ft wide 3ft deep and 6ft tall. Along with a 2ft cabinet on the bottom and the typical 8-12in lighting cabinet on top. Approx 80 Kashyyyk clones (split between the first "elite" clones and the newer TAC clones)

Obi-Wan's star destroyer-Obi talks to clones with a V-wing in the foreground, gunship in midground and ARC-170s in the background.

Battle of Utapau-another one of my huge dio plans. This will be challenging due to the forced perspective nature of this diorama. when you look at it, I want it to be visualized that you are looking down deep into one of the sinkholes, yet by looking at it's total width can see all the major scenes played out. With over 100 Utapau troopers alone, this promises to be a very active dio.

Darth Sidious vs. Jedi Council Members-this being the other office dio I'll need to make.

Jedi Temple-this will be a medium/large dio. 4ft square. each side will consist of different scenes. One side the march up to the steps by the 501st. another being Vader and the Padawans. another some interior scenes, etc. This one is not yet fully planned out and will probably be done in steps (one side at a time). Over 100 501st in this complete dio as well.

Mygeeto Betrayal-medium scene to depict Ki-Adi Mundi being betrayed by the clones and his death.

Felucia-small set-this being the death of Aayla Secura. Was going to have an AT-TE here, but I think I'm opting out of vehicles for this one, but will have space for a clone on slug should that ever be made. (I do have a temporary slug right now and it lights up!)

Darth Sidious vs. Yoda-maybe. I'm thinking this will be a small set with a printed background. The scene would be when Sidious throws a senate pod at Yoda and yoda is in the process of throwing back.

Birth of Darth Vader (in armor).

Now these were just gleaned from Tycho's list. I'd have to go back and check all of my plans (written and drawn) to see if I planned on making any others not yet listed for any of the movies.

I might consider a KOTOR set, but only if more of the characters were produced as figures.

Well, for my part, I certainly would want to do something on this scale, but just wouldn't have the room and money. I can look at your plans and dream, though.

As it is, when I get the "finishing" (in quotations because it will never truly be finished) touches done on my clone army and can finally get pictures, I'm going to have to take the picture at my brother's place, because I don't have the room to do it at home.

When I still lived in Tallahassee, I had a two-bedroom apartment and was able to fill the second bedroom with some displays. I had the following:

Queen's Royal Starship --Closed up but with more than a dozen astromechs lined up in front of it.

Millennium Falcon --With Han and Chewie standing in front of it.

Imperial Shuttle --With Moff Jerjerrod and a generic Imperial standing in front of it.

Two AT-ATs --Just standing next to each other.

An audience with the Emperor --Thrawn and Veers (I know, real accurate) standing before Vader, the Emperor, and Tarkin surrounded by Royal Guards, Storm Troopers, Sand Troopers, Biker Scouts, Kir Kanos, and Carnor Jax.

B-wing --with Sullustan pilot standing out front.

Hoth --Luke and Han on Taun-tauns, Luke's Taun-taun being taken down by the wampa and the Hoth playset populated with Leia, Rieekan, Derlin, and Snow Gear Jedi Obi-Wan (I further thumb my nose at accuracy).

N-1 Starfighter --With Ric standing in front

Y-wing --With pilot in the front

A-wing and rebel pilots --Theed Hangar with A-wing (A-wing fits great on it!), A-wing pilot, Biggs, Wedge, Luke, Porkins, Vander, red pilot from the original 3-pack (name eludes me), and about a dozen or more astromechs.

Mos Eisley Cantina --with Wuher, Han and Greedo, jawa, Duro, Nabrun, Kabe, two Devarionians, Ody and Mara Jade (cue nose thumbing), Tarrful, the Snivian, and the Modal Nodes.

Jabba's Palace --with jawas, the Max Rebo Band, Yakface, Oola, the three dancers, a Gammorean, C-3PO, Chewie, Leia (bounty hunter) and Lando, Jabba, Boba, Bib, and a conspicuously empty place I will NEVER put Yarna.

The Fetts --Boba and Jango in front of their respective versions of Slave I.

In the living room I had the Episode III clone army standing on the entertainment center. At that time there were somewhere between 150 and 160 clones standing in formation with an animated Clone Wars gunship filled with Delta Squad. On the computer desk I had some number of Episode II clones and ARC troopers with another animated gunship and Mace Windu in an Episode II Jedi Starfighter.

For whatever reason, though I had plenty of space, I never set up the duels, which were always my favorite displays. I would have inlcuded the following:

Episode I --Qui-Gon vs. Maul, and Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs. Maul

Episode II --Anakin vs. Dooku and Yoda vs. Dooku with Obi-Wan and Anakin lying in the background

Episode III --Anakin vs. Dooku with Obi-Wan lying in the background, Obi-Wan vs. Grievous (unfortunately), Mace vs. Palpatine with Jedi lying in the background, Yoda and Palpatine, the Duel

Episode IV --Obi-Wan vs. Vader

Episode V --Luke vs. Vader

Episode VI --Luke vs. Vader

And finally, if I hadn't moved out so soon, I would have done a Geonosis Jedi vs. Battledroid scene.

Well, as an opener, I like to display my figures on a series of those workshop shelves. This past spring, I started taking boxes and cutting them up and hopping on the computer to create graphic overlays. I suppose they are dioramas to a certain extent. I'm making them to maximise the space on the shelf by creating multiple levels.

The first one I did was a combination Tantive IV/Tatooine desert one. The second one was an additional Tatooine desert/Lars Homestead with Sandcrawler one. The third one was the Cantina/Rebel Base Throne Room and Briefing room. The fourth one I did was The Invisible Hand. The fifth one was Palpatine's office and the Senate Chamber. I need to get started again and get inspired to do the next set of boxes.

Cool dale. I'd like to see a pic of that.

PLM, I understand about not having room. Between all of the troop type figures I have (not just clones and stormies mind you), I've easily got over 2K.

One of these days I'll figure out exactly how many. In fact I had hoped to make it a project this summer of setting up all of my troops and taking one big pic. Problem is I have absolutely no place to do this.

Geeze, it's my dream as well to survive my challenges and then re-challenge myself by making so many of these displays that we've been talking about.

I'm glad to hear JediPartnr's and Phantom-Like-Menace's plans as well. We all have a lot of the same stuff, but our unique individuality comes out in what we next do with it.

The Coruscant Opera-this is a BIG maybe. need plenty more figures to do this scene right.

I know. I'm just looking for who's-who in "the best dressed" and will move over Senator figures, and Bail Organa's AOTC figure, figures as such, for the audience. It will be tightly focused around Palpatine's viewing box, and expand outward as there are figures to do that with. Many here worry about the Mon Calamari dancers. I don't. I might do "the opera," without ever actually showing the opera - just the seats - depending upon what Hasbro lets me do here. The battles interest me far more of course.

The Battle of Kashyyyk-this will be one of my other huge dios. instead of wide however it will be tall.

I take it that you are going "up" because of a desire to want to do the Worshyyyr trees? They don't make enough toys you can hang "in flight" for this yet - namely the Droid Gunship and Wookiee Catamaran. Both would be really nice, so I am hoping...

Obi-Wan's star destroyer-Obi talks to clones with a V-wing in the foreground, gunship in midground and ARC-170s in the background.

I wouldn't even be doing this one, but I like the way Hasbro's V-wing turned out so much, that's what it is. I'm only tightening the scene around the V-wings as they are my excuse for building this. Hasbro did a beautiful job with that ship and it never slips my mind.

We've talked before and I really think this could be your best work, right here. Kashyyyk might be - but the Hasbro vehicle selection is lacking (not your fault). Geonosis would more likely be my better work. I think you are willing to go above-and-beyond for Utopau and it will show. I'm just not as motivated, so I'm really excited to see what you do here, Sal.

Jedi Temple-

Should be interesting. Again, I wasn't overly motivated, but I have a good quantity of the figures. It'll be one of the later ones "I get around to."

Felucia-small set-this being the death of Aayla Secura. Was going to have an AT-TE here, but I think I'm opting out of vehicles for this one,

What about using the AT-AP? A tighter focus and smaller diorama, that's still a cool walker and would give it a chance to shine, not out-done by its larger cousin this way.

but will have space for a clone on slug should that ever be made. (I do have a temporary slug right now and it lights up!)

You told me about this, but I forgot. Please refresh my memory or offer up a picture. I'd like this "beast assortment offering" as well. It was fun to see that in the movie as you just happen to notice "something else." I didn't buy the Rancor, nor want the exclusive figure, and turned that down, as while I love the EU, I've no desire to expand on it here.

While I'm not into KOTOR, I really hope I'll have TOTJ stuff to create!

I'm going to rest and then respond to PLM and JP.

Well I do have 3 or 4 AT-APs so I could move one of those to this instead of using all of them in the Kashyyyk dio. Maybe...

You told me about this, but I forgot. Please refresh my memory or offer up a picture.

Simple enough, I found this rubber semitranslucent slug at a dollar store of all places. When you squeeze it, it lights up and the light inside changes color. It's mostly blue on the outside, IIRC. Even if it's not and the fact that the lights are different colors, it still works with the scene due to the varying lush multi-colored foliage. (It's packed away right now, so no pics to show.)

I'm keeping mine pretty simple, though I've been mining several resources for backgrounds and such. The "Making of" books from the prequels have been amazing for that. I've been scanning things in and manipulating them. I should probably take some shots of them. No lights or moving parts. Just stages to house different scenes. I put a picture of Ackmena on the outside wall of the cantina just 'cos. LOL

I think I'm going to do the ANH crew in the hold of the BMF and the ESB group in the cockpit, possibly.

The BMF is too much a Classic to NOT be classic Star Wars. It might free up one of my '95s to become an EU Falcon for the day the Solo kids are manufactured.
