I have just purchased an original grappling hook for my 12" Luke figure and was wondering how it is supposed to be attached. Looking at my Vader and Fett figures, the original accessory attachments are presented in a very visually pleasing aesthetic way.

Do I just tie a knot around his belt? Does anyone have any photos they could share to show the original display method.

Here's photos of the hook and how the other figures are presented.

This is all I have on hand right now. If I get time in the next few days I will get you a detailed pic. Just under Han's hand you can kind of see Luke's hook. I have the string wraped around the handle and the hook hanging from the loop on his belt.

Thanks for that, that's what I thought. I really want to know how it looked in the box, I can't seem to get a photo of one. Until I can work out the original display method I'll just leave it one of these ways, probably how most folks have it set up anyway.

I have mine hanging from the belt like yours, with the other end of the string tied to the loop below the hook on the belt, but I also have my string wrapped round the handle like sjd. But as I bought mine loose, I can't say how it would've been in the box.

Edit: there's an ebay auction here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1978-12-LUKE-SKYWALKER-Vintage-STAR-WARS-MIB_W0QQitemZ120303208580QQihZ002QQcategoryZ50270Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem) that says "The Grappling Hook string is still wound around the handle and has never been removed."

That way sure looks the best. That's how I have mine set up now. Thanks for the heads up.
