Please post your VOTE for up to 6 {six} of the questions provided in this thread, letting us know which ones you most want to see asked on October 3rd. Keep in mind that your votes in round 57 do not count in this round, so if your question is still on the list you may want to vote for it again.

Also, feel free to post new questions. For reference, here are Hasbro's answers to previous SSG questions (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/index.php?categoryid=13&p2_articleid=1553); to ActionFigs.com's questions (http://www.actionfigs.com/index.php?categoryid=12&p2_articleid=1916); and from other sites (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/index.php?categoryid=13&p2_articleid=1298). The questions we asked last round can be found here (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?p=638254#post638254).

Current questions (vote for up to 6):

- Twice during the prequels, a vehicle toy's MSRP was dropped significantly without any changes to its mold - the first being the Episode I Naboo Royal Starship which went from $100 to $50, and the second being the Republic Gunship which in the Saga line was $40 but subsequent releases were $30. What were the causes of these price drops? Why hasn't this happened with other vehicles in similar high pricepoints?
- What are the requirements that a retailer must go meet to get a Star Wars exclusive, do they have to be a certain size company, make a certain number of Hasbro orders a month, etc.? Is there some sort of process that a retailer has to go through to get an exclusive, do they work with Hasbro on what item to produce or is it out of their hands?
- Some fans have noticed that the white paint on the goggles accessory from the Droid Factory Han Solo Hoth exclusive 2pack is flaking off at an alarming rate. This obviously would be a disappointment for fans eager to get this version of Han Solo. What is the cause for this, was a new technique for painting used, was it a new paint altogether, perhaps the clear plastic for the goggles different and not taking paint, something even simpler like too much mold-release oil?
- Why has Commander Faie been included as part of the upcoming ROTS wave when the character never actually appeared in the movie?
- In Hasbro's awesome Comic-Packs line, we've been treated to Marvel Star Wars issues 1-4, and Dark Horse Revenge of the Sith issues 1, 3, and 4. Any chance we could get comic packs of the missing Marvel SW #5 and 6, and Dark Horse ROTS #2, to complete their respective tales? (Just spitballing ideas: we could certainly do with a Leia/3PO pack for MSW#5 and perhaps a Rebel/Imperial Pilot set for #6, and ROTS #2 could use Grievous and a new deco Clone.) And what about Comic Packs for the other movie adaptation comics like Marvel ESB and ROTJ, or Dark Horse TPM and AOTC?
- The Comic Packs are great since the addition of the comic books give these characters much-needed context, as the average kid and collector who mainly know the movies will likely not know these characters without seeing them in some sort of action. That said, there are still several other expanded universe products that have no context other than the small bio on their packaging. Would it be possible for comic books to also be included in EU multi-figure sets or vehicles as well? For instance, fans of Crimson Empire are liking the look of the upcoming Crucible set, while those who are unfamiliar with the work think it looks more like a cross between Star Wars and Power Rangers.
- On Mighty Muggs, understanding that you're not likely to do new bodies for the line any time soon, will fans ever be getting Battle Droid, Super Battle Droid, and maybe even an IG-100 Magnaguard Mighty Muggs figures? You did the spindly General Grievous as a Mugg already after all. Also, what Hasbro team does the designs for the Muggs and their packaging? Does each team - for example, Star Wars, Marvel, and Transformers - design their own Muggs, or is it centralized?
- The Star Wars product poster Hasbro gave out at Comic-Con had new figures on 1 side while the other featured Titanium Series vehicles in 3 battles. We haven't heard of any upcoming Titanium multipacks, themed waves, battle-packs, or exclusives that use these concepts though. Does Hasbro have anything special planned for Star Wars Titanium Series?
- In Hasbro's GI Joe line's comic packs, they have moved beyond mere reprints to also feature entirely new stand-alone comics. Given that Dark Horse has released similar Star Wars comics to retailers in the past, have you considered working with them to commission new stand-alone Star Wars comics that feature highly-requested EU characters that otherwise don't appear in the comics and therefore have a lot less chance of being released as figures?
- With Sideshow having released a smashing diorama of the "Look Sir, Droids" scene, what are the chances of Hasbro doing a similar battle pack? It could include the escape pod (perhaps with the proper top hatch openable, or maybe the whole thing upsized) and an assortment of Sandroopers with a variety of pauldrons and accessories. Heck, if you threw in an updated dewback, you'd have quite the nifty ultimate battle pack. Any chance of that?
- Not long ago, we asked which EU figures were their personal favorites and wishlist entries, but none of the ones listed were from the Marvel series. With the upcoming Lumiya figure (and by the way, who will she be coming with in that comic 2pack? Issue #96 suggests Luke from the duel, but perhaps someone else maybe?), what other Marvel figures might be on the team members' EU wishlists?
- Last year, Hasbro released the R2-KT figure while making a charitable donation to ensure that the spirit of a figure for the Katie Johnson charity was fully met before any were sold. With R2-KT appearing in the Clone Wars movie, is there a chance we could get animated R2-KT as a repainted animated R2-D2 figure in a similar charity-type release?
- While we'd always prefer a worn paint deco on vehicles and droids, we understand sometimes the budget just can't do it. The next time you do a vehicle with a white deco where the budget prohibits additional weathering paint, could you please not use the clean-white color of plastic that you've used on the Clone Wars V-19 or the TLC Dagger Squadron B-wing? This white plastic is just too clean, it screams for weathering as it hides every sculpted line and gives an unwelcome plasticky toy look, while the slightly off-white colors of plastic seem to bring out the lines and look a little weathered better than clean.
- Will there be more droid repaints in the Clone Wars line? The molds already exist, so they shouldn't be too difficult to achieve. For instance, will there be TC-70 based on the C-3PO mold, R4-P17 based on the R2-D2 mold, or KRONOS-327 based on the IG-86 mold? TC-70 obviously would be a good companion piece to the upcoming animated Jabba you're developing, and Obi-Wan needs a droid to fit in his Jedi Starfighter's droid slot.
- In the Clone Wars line, a few scale issues have come up. Obi-Wan and Anakin figures stand pretty short compared to their non-animated figure counterparts, while Clone Troopers stand unusually tall compared to their non-animated counterparts, and obviously this means CW Obi-Wan and Anakin stand pretty short compared to the Clones. What gives here? Was this an intentional choice, and if so, why?
- Might you be willing to give us some of the lowdown on what will be coming up from the Greatest Hits sub-line? With the Saga Legends line (we're aware this is different from GH) reusing last year's Yoda on Kybuck, fans would like to see if Greatest Hits might find some figures from that TAC EU wave which were hard to get, such as Darth Revan, Darth Malak, Pre-Cyborg Grievous. And it's not like the main lines where everything's a secret until development's done, Greatest Hits is made up of existing figures, so could we know what to expect in the sub-line?
- When collectors ask for the same stuff over and over again such as certain vehicles like the Cloud Car, large accessories like Jabba's dais, playsets and dioramas of scenes that are not action- or main-character-themed which Hasbro says they aren't likely to do because those areas are not seen as profitable in today's market, are there any NEW ideas swimming around the Star Wars team with an OT collector focus? Not talking about merely new figures or resculpts of unmade vintage figures, but something new in the 3.75" format that would excite collectors, especially OT-focused ones. Stuff like the nifty new Scramble on Yavin battle pack gets collectors jazzed up.
- Although the Cruisemissile Trooper vehicle has its share of detractors, including those at Hasbro, the concept and design have some fun and interesting toy merits, though not fully realized. Perhaps the original design could be embellished and resized to fit into either the current Starfighter Vehicle pricepoint or a Battle Pack or other smaller medium. And of course, this time around it could have a removable pilot and cooler features to make it a fun new vehicle with unique Star Wars credibility. Would Hasbro ever consider making an update to this vehicle with design and features befitting the modern line?
- Now that we're getting the Clone Wars "Lucky Lekku" Republic Gunship repaint, what about releasing more of those individualized nose art Gunships from the Clone Wars? What about doing them with a sticker sheet instead of releasing each design individually, perhaps even with the updated door design from the series?
- Back in May, one of your answers about The Force Unleashed was that you're looking at 1 more TFU figure for 2009, and that as the Hasbro Star Wars team saw and played more of the game, new ideas for toys from TFU would "spring forth". Now that we've all had a chance to play this awesome new Star Wars game, some collectors are champing at the bit for another whole wave of TFU figures. We know the soonest there could be new TFU items is 2010, but what TFU items have found their way onto the Hasbro team's wishlists (beyond PROXY, whom you've already said is on your list)?
- With the recent release of The Force Unleashed and the success of Hasbro's TFU product in the 2008 TAC line, what are the chances of getting more TFU figures beyond the 2009 Felucia Shaak Ti you recently confirmed? We know the soonest there could be new TFU items is 2010, collectors want PROXY, more of Starkiller's costumes, a new Juno Eclipse more accurate to the final game, accurate Ininerator Troopers, teenage Princess Leia, battle-damaged Rahm Kota, Kazdan Paratus, accurate Jump Troopers, shadow versions of the various troopers, and even a 3.75" figure version of the Rogue Shadow and the Bull Rancor. Any of these gonna happen, and what can we do to increase that likelihood?
- Back in Dec '07, you told us that while you didn't have a carded basic Wedge Antilles planned, there was "at least one cool new Wedge figure" due in '08 if your schedule held. This August, you told another site that you "had plans for a great Wedge this year, but the project was delayed and will appear in Fall 2009," (again, if schedules held). Then on Sept 5th, a third site asked about Wedge, and you gave a similar answer about the set he's in being delayed until "later in 2009". Now, an online retailer has listed a case assortment for Comic Packs Wave 5 which includes "X-wing Rogue Squadron #32 with Borsk Fey'la and Wedge Antilles (Academy Outfit)" expected out around February '09. Is their set listing accurate, and if so, is this your aforementioned Fall '09 Wedge or a different figure altogether?
- This might seem like an odd request, but could you re-issue the old Kenner X-wing, specifically the POTF2 version, with some modifications? There's no X-wing at kid pricing anymore, the only OT vehicles at the Starfighter pricepoint are lonely TIEs with nobody to fight, and that classic X-wing had some decent sculpting, strong wings, and is fun to whoosh about. As well, the POTF2 version had a pretty decent deco (though pre-applied stickers would be nice), and that version also had the best sound effects in any X-wing (aside from the Power FX X-wing, but the sacrifices there are numerous), those sounds alone would sell another batch to collectors. The set could use a tune-up on the cockpit interior, the canopy exterior, the dedicated R2-D2, and the blaster tips need to be reoriented to the proper upright position. Don't you think the kids today deserve an awesome X-wing fighter?
- In the Comic-Con presentation, the Clone Wars Magnaguard was shown to include an alternate, cloak-wearing head. Now that carded images have shown up, it appears as though this extra head is not included. Is it actually included and just hidden behind the insert, or is it another case of an accessory being taken out due to cost? If it is the latter, then can we expect a variant down the road?
- While we were very pleased to see many new tools for Titanium Series at your Comic-Con display, fans of the line have had a bumpy ride lately. Hasbro didn't bring any new Titaniums to Toy Fair last February, '08 wave 4 was summarily canceled and supposedly redistributed into other waves - though we've not seen any sign of this is case listings so far - and until July many of the line's collectors had only the words in a few Q&As to assure them of the line's progress and were left wondering whether there was a future for it at all (we were thrilled that Comic-Con reconfirmed the Hasbro Star Wars team's commitment to this line). With that in mind, could you give us a preview of any new Titaniums being developed for the future, and what's scheduled for the first half of '09? We'd really appreciate it, it'd help sustain the line's momentum and build a collecting base. And will the Titanium Cylon Basestar you previously confirmed for the last wave of 2008 actually get released since retailer preorders are up to January '09's wave 6 with no sign of it yet the BSG license expires at the end of the year?
- With the upcoming Wioslea figure, we have another Jedi-style outfit with soft-goods cloth robe and "skirt", but the upper tunic remains sculpted to the torso and thus don't match the color or design of the "skirt" that is supposed to continue the tunic. Don't get us wrong, Wioslea's outer robe looks far better than the oversized VOTC Obi-Wan's robe, soft-goods cloth does have its place in the line. But for matching the "skirt" to the top half of tunic, have you ever considered doing a figure with the tunic entirely as soft-goods? Would you consider doing a major super-articulated Jedi figure with a cloth tunic this way?

Vote now, and suggest new questions too. Thanks for participating!

10, 11, 16 and 17 for now. If the cruisemissile trooper question is re-added I would vote for that as well. Here it is -

Although the Cruisemissile Trooper vehicle has its share of detractors, including those at Hasbro, the concept and design have some fun and interesting toy merits, though not fully realized. Perhaps the original design could be embellished and resized to fit into either the current Starfighter Vehicle pricepoint or a Battle Pack or other smaller medium. Question 18 added.

I'm going to give this one another chance as I find the vehicle design to have promise, but if it doesn't get support soon I'll pull it again.

Thanks for voting gang! We're off to a good start.

And a few of my own...

"Hasbro has been taking existing 3 3/4" scale battle packs and vehicles and recreating them for the Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes line. This has been a really neat trend and is very exciting because the GH line is so darn cute. Some great examples would be the Geonosis Arena CS, the Kashyyyk AT-RT CS, the Vader and Obi Wan star fighters, and my absolute favorite, the Millenium Falcon.

Will we possibly be seeing an AT-AT or a Republic Gunship for our little GH friends one day?"

or

"What are the chances that Hasbro will repack/repaint most of or all of the Republic Gunships with individualized nose art represented in the Clone Wars movie and cartoon beyond the "Lucky Lekku" Wal-Mart exclusive due out in November?"

or

"With the release of 2 extremely large and expensive toys in the middle of the summer (the BMF and the AT-TE), does Hasbro have some more BIG, awesome surprises for kids and collectors waiting for us for the holiday season?"

Apologies if these have been asked before by this group or another forum...

This has been a really neat trend and is very exciting because the GH line is so darn cute. Some great examples would be the Geonosis Arena CS, the Kashyyyk AT-RT CS, the Vader and Obi Wan star fighters, and my absolute favorite, the Millenium Falcon.

Will we possibly be seeing an AT-AT or a Republic Gunship for our little GH friends one day?"They've already been asked about a G.heroes AT-AT in the past, Aug 15th:
JediNews.co.uk: The Galactic Heroes are getting a lot of love at the moment, especially the upcoming vehicles - Darth's Vader TIE Fighter is enormous! Seeing as we're getting a Snowspeeder soon and we've already had at AT-AT Driver and Commander, will we be seeing an AT-AT to complete the scene anytime soon?
Hasbro: There is a good possibility that if the vehicle-based Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes get a warm reception this Fall that within a couple years we could be looking at a Galactic Heroes AT-AT.
and April 25th:
ActionFigs.com: In the Galactic Heroes line we have gotten an AT-AT Commander and Driver figures, and now several new vehicles and beasts. Might that increase chances of getting a Galactic Heroes AT-AT?
Hasbro: We would certainly like to do an AT-AT at some point. If kids and fans continue to show an increasing appetite for GH, we'd say there is a strong possibility. For now, we continue to be focused on the Cinema Scenes and an AT-AT is just too big a beast for that format.
While the Gunship hasn't been asked that I can find, it'd almost certainly be a similar answer. Can you find a compelling way to ask for just the Republic Gunship? I don't generally include the "thanks for doing this, how about this" questions, I just end up cutting them down to the "how about this", so we need to make a compelling argument for the Gunship in GH scale.

"What are the chances that Hasbro will repack/repaint most of or all of the Republic Gunships with individualized nose art represented in the Clone Wars movie and cartoon beyond the "Lucky Lekku" Wal-Mart exclusive due out in November?"Ugh, another question about Gunship repaints, you guys are a small but VERY vocal minority. :p Let me ask, as I haven't seen Clone Wars yet, are the gunships in any other way significantly recolored? I'm really tempted to not add it, the answer is almost certainly "no" this close to the current exclusive release... I've gone back and forth on this one like 10 times now, put it into the list, rework, pull, consider leaving open-ended, I just can't decide what to do with it because it's really unlikely to work out in our favor but it'll probably get mobbed with votes, which sucks because everybody will be disappointed if I do add it and it gets shot down, or I don't add it and it doesn't get asked after they voted. So, I'll add a reworked version of the question and count your vote for it because if it bombs, it'll be on you guys. ;)

"With the release of 2 extremely large and expensive toys in the middle of the summer (the BMF and the AT-TE), does Hasbro have some more BIG, awesome surprises for kids and collectors waiting for us for the holiday season?"Those are the holiday items, plus the next Target Ultimate Battle Pack (Skiff w/ Sarlacc Pit), and the vehicle repaints coming out (A-wing, Gunship). Hasbro's said they're not doing another big vehicle right away, and these vehicles need to sell well during this holiday for the concept to cement.

Thank you for adding #19. I like the way you rephrased it. Even if no one votes for it, I won't ask for it to be added again.

To answer your question about the movie... There are a few uniquely painted gunships in the Clone Wars movie and I assume the cartoon. In October, DK is releasing a big Clone Wars visual guide book that includes pictures of the various nose art. I believe there are 5-7 variations...

Here are a couple pics: http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/detailed.xml?product_id=1223426&type=img3 (http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/detailed.xml?product_id=1223426&type=img3) (this is the one on the LEGO gunship available now)

and one we haven't seen yet: http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/detailed.xml?product_id=1223426&type=img4 (http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/detailed.xml?product_id=1223426&type=img4)

I am not quite sure how to rephrase the question on the GH Republic Gunship in a more compelling manner, so I will drop it.

Folks will vote for it, I can assure you.

I'm aware of the nose-art being different, and I love that LEGO lets you choose which you want. I actually was wondering if the REST of the ship was different, that'd help sell it, the same ship but with different nose art will be a difficult sell by itself, new paint decos always help exclusives stand out from each other, that's what retailers are looking for.

I know this may be a little early, but i fugure with the increased span of time between sessions I might be able to get away with this now< and as always, if you find it acceptable feel free to reword it better.

In a previous Q&A session regarding a Force Unleashed question, you mentioned you and your coworkers would need a chance to play the game before future character discussions came up. Now that you've all hopefully had a chance to enjoy this great game, I was wondering if any characters from it have found their way into your wishlists? I know some fans are already wishing for another whole wave dedicated to it.

As I recall we've had better luck asking about their wishlists rather than specifics, so i figured I'd give it a go.

ok, i'm going to add another question that can hopefully be asked and have some positive answers come from it:

Hasbro, with the recent release of the video game "The Force Unleashed" and the success of the merchandise from the TAC collection, is there any chance for another wave of figures to be released with all new characters such as Shaak Ti, perhaps a new Juno Eclipse(more game accurate), maybe single carded more accurate Incinerator Stormtroopers, mayeb teen aged Princess Leia Organa, Battle Damaged Rahm Kota, PROXY, and maybe even perhaps a 3 3/4 scale Rogue Shadow with a new sculpted Apprentice and Juno Eclipse. The game is awesome and getting alot of collectors watered at the mouth for more characters in the action figure line. Also is there a chance of re-releasing the Felucia Battle Rancor again and maybe even doing a Bull Rancor set as well.

First off, a scale Rogue Shadow would be bigger than the new Falcon, so no way that's gonna happen in scale.

That said, I've tried to include everything when I worked the question over. I've added the question and counted your vote for it, but honestly I think Umbra's TFU question is far more likely to get answered.

Q: Previously, you stated that the "cool new" Wedge would now be coming Fall of '09. Recently, Entertainment Earth listed the case assortment for Wave 5 due out in February of next year. Included in this case is "X-Wing Rogue Squadron #32: Borsk Fey'la & Wedge Antilles (Academy outfit)." Is this listing correct? If so is the the Fall '09 Wedge a different figure altogether?I had to modify a little because the "cool new Wedge" they mentioned was an answer to us that didn't say Fall. SSG, Dec 17th, '07:
Q: Does Hasbro have something against Wedge Antilles? Biggs gets 2 figures this year while our boy Wedge - who survives the OT and beyond - only gets his head plopped on an already existing body as an exclusive or pack-in every now and then. What are the chances of seeing a new Wedge single carded in the main line anytime soon? A: Good point - Wedge is a very important character in the OT and the EU. While we don't have any plans for a carded basic Wedge figure, there will be at least one cool new Wedge figure in the line next year if our schedule holds. We will have info available around Comic Con on what that may be.
And then they said on Sept 5th, '08:
GalacticHunter.com: Many months ago you mentioned in a Q&A that a new Wedge Antilles figure was coming in 2008. Is this still the case, or have plans changed? -- From reader and auditor Shabby Blue
Hasbro: Unfortunately, plans have changed due to the lateness of the set he was in and we just couldn't make it to shelf in time for this year. The set he is in will be coming later in 2009.
While on August 1st, they said:
Sandtroopers.com: Wedge Antilles is one of the top secondary characters of the OT having survived all 3 movies. How come he has never appeared in the regular carded line? He is definitely one who would be a good candidate for an updated X-Wing body. Or since I dont believe he has been made as a Snowspeeder pilot, how about on the new Snowspeeder body that Wes Janson uses? Also keep the removable helmets on the X-Wing pilots but get rid of the hooded heads.
Hasbro: Wedge *has* appeared in the regular carded line, although as an exclusive. We did have plans for a great Wedge this year, but the project was delayed and will appear in Fall 2009 if all goes according to schedule. Stay tuned!
So it's kind of complicated. I've reworked it into a longer, but more solid question and added it, counting your vote.

Dear Hasbro,

While we were very pleased to see many new tools for the Legacy Titanium Series shown at SDCC, we're almost at the point now where the fans have seen everything that Hasbro showed arrive at retail (where they've been pounced upon). This year, Hasbro didn't preview any new TS ships at Toyfare, Wave 4 was "cancelled", and many rabid Titanium collectors were left wondering whether the SW line was continuing at all (we're stoked that Hasbro's still keen). So with this in mind, can you give us a preview of any new Titanium Series tools that are being released in the first half of 2009? We'd sure appreciate it.

And with all due respect, what the "frack" happened to the TS Cylon Basestar that was set (in an earlier Q&A) to be released in "the last wave of 2008"? Legacy Titanium Wave 6 is available for preorder in January 2009 and still there's no sign of the basestar (and Hasbro's licence expires soon!). We're worried!

Hmm... this question is a little tougher than I first thought. I don't understand "we're almost at the point now where the fans have seen everything that Hasbro showed arrive at retail (where they've been pounced upon)" at all. And I'm not totally sure what the driving point of it is.

Anyway, here's what I have so far, LMK how far off I am, I feel like it's miles, and then we'll work it into a question:

While we were very pleased to see many new tools for Titanium Series at your Comic-Con display, fans of the line have had a bumpy ride lately. Hasbro didn't bring any new Titaniums to Toy Fair last February, '08 wave 4 was summarily canceled and redistributed into other waves with little notice and no fanfare, and until July many of the line's collectors had only the words in a few Q&As to assure them of the line's progress and were left wondering whether there was a future for it at all (we were thrilled that Comic-Con reconfirmed the Hasbro Star Wars team's commitment to this line).

They've confirmed the TFU Shaak Ti, and answered a question about more TFU stuff. I assume there'll be more sites that post similar questions soon, but you might want to edit #20 and #21.Yes, I was already changing 21. If you have a suggestion on how to change #20, LMK.

Can you confirm the Clone Wars Nute Gunray that's rumored for 2009?We generally don't do rumors here, but let me see the source of that rumor so I can better make that decision.

Thanks for asking my Question about the wave break down and how many we can expect, didnt think they would also tell us about the Droids so I am way happy.Yeah, I think that worked out really well, they were very forthcoming, good job.

For 20 or 21, you might want to mention about how they've said no more would come out until 2010 . . . "We know any more TFU figures won't be out at least until 2010, but which ones are the most likely" or something like that.

And now for a new question:
*In the Comic-Con presentation, the Clone Wars Magnaguard was shown to include an alternate head. Now that carded images have shown up, it appears as though this extra head is not included. Is it behind the insert, or is it another case of an accessory being taken out due to cost? If it is the latter, then can we expect a variant down the road?

No JT, you got the gist of the question just fine. They were pretty skimpy on info this year, and it sucks for us fans. It didn't help that we got no new TS ships between January and late July, and only one new tool (Cloud Car) up until very recently. Trying to give the marketing folks a cheerful boot in the arse...

Pretty sure that no new tools from '08 Wave 4 have shown up anywhere yet... no EP III JSF w/ring, no Bongo, no Basestar even available for preorder yet.

As usual, I'm a little mystified as to why it's been entirely rewritten (not sure if it clarifies anything, really) but honestly, I'm happy to have the question posed in any form.

New question:

Having just seen the new pictures of Legacy 2009 wave 1, I have to say I love the new figs even more than after the initial pictures from SDCC. After seeing Wioslea, I'm really impressed with the garments, compared to the VOTC Obi-Wan. But, seeing the way the top plastic part of the outfit under her robe still doesn't match the color with the cloth on the bottom part, it made me wonder if the entire inner robe could be cloth like the entire outer robe. I wish I knew the correct terms, but the brown part under the inner robe would still make sense to be plastic, but I would love to see how it would look with the entire tan inner robe be cloth with the the same brown cloth outer robe that's currently on the figure. Would you ever consider making the more popular SA Jedi this way?

[please feel free to reword this so that it makes more sense]

[Edit: Ok, I've proven before that my Photoshop skills aren't the best, but something like the 2nd thumbnail is what I have in mind (and obviously looks better to me if I want the question asked)]

3, 10 & 17 so far. Obviously the clothe inner robe question if it gets added.

I'd also like to add a follow up question to the results from RS's QnA last round where Hasbro said they were doing 2 ESB waves next year, but can't come up with a good question. It's just my opinion that ESB has the least figures left to be made and/or resculpted out of all 6 movies. So, especially out of the OT, where ANH has the Cantina and ROTJ has Jabba's Palace, but Hasbro chooses 2 ESB waves. I mean, I'm sure I will buy every figure, but I"m still shocked they chose that movie to pull 2 waves from. Maybe a good way to say, "in the last Q&A you confirmed two ESB themed waves and in past Q&A's confirmed certain figures, including a Ugnaught, ICMG, & Zuckuss. There aren't that many figures left from ESB to be made and/or resculpted. Would you confirm any of the following possibilities: Luke (Medical Frigate), Leia (Medical Frigate) or Captain Needa? And if you did a Medical Frigate Luke, would you do some kind of prosthetic hand/forearm?" So, maybe I'd like to ask that question too, now that figured out what I want to say, but obviously reword as desired.

Questions 20-21 modified.

#23, surprisingly, is mine. I was posting a review on CS for the Kenner BD X-wing and realized it's not so bad, with a few tweaks it'd be a true winner again, especially with POTF2 sounds which were from the movie.

For 20 or 21, you might want to mention about how they've said no more would come out until 2010 . . . "We know any more TFU figures won't be out at least until 2010, but which ones are the most likely" or something like that.Good idea, will do. I kinda shoehorned it in there a little awkward, but it works.

And now for a new question:
*In the Comic-Con presentation, the Clone Wars Magnaguard was shown to include an alternate head. Now that carded images have shown up, it appears as though this extra head is not included. Is it behind the insert, or is it another case of an accessory being taken out due to cost? If it is the latter, then can we expect a variant down the road?Good one. Added.

Pretty sure that no new tools from '08 Wave 4 have shown up anywhere yet... no EP III JSF w/ring, no Bongo, no Basestar even available for preorder yet.Right, I reworked the question to say that, Hasbro CLAIMS it's being absorbed into other waves, that's why I said it that way.

As usual, I'm a little mystified as to why it's been entirely rewritten (not sure if it clarifies anything, really) but honestly, I'm happy to have the question posed in any form. I've spent 2 years working with Hasbro on these Q&As, learning what types of communication work best with them, what resonates and what types of information need to be conveyed for a concept to fully get across. There's a reason Hasbro says our questions are the most challenging because of how thorough and compelling they are, we give them the thinkers. So I rewrite them based on how I feel they should be communicated to as broad a base as possible - both Hasbro and the uninitiated reader should be able to grasp what the question is getting at. Also, because I'm representing a large group of fans AND Steve's 2 sites, I have to be diplomatic in the negative aspects without watering them down too far.

[Edit: Ok, I've proven before that my Photoshop skills aren't the best, but something like the 2nd thumbnail is what I have in mind (and obviously looks better to me if I want the question asked)]Good job with the photoshop, it's not something I'd send to Hasbro or post on the front page, but it did an EXCELLENT job communicating your concept. That's the outer tunic, and while I have a feeling fans wouldn't go for it, I'm willing to give it a shot because it's worth Hasbro explaining their thoughts if nothing else, and you've made a good argument for your concept.

ohh, I like your question too, Darth Titanium.I'll count your vote for it.

3, 10 & 17 so far. Obviously the clothe inner robe question if it gets added.Counted for that one as well.

I'd also like to add a follow up question to the results from RS's QnA last round where Hasbro said they were doing 2 ESB waves next year, but can't come up with a good question. It's just my opinion that ESB has the least figures left to be made and/or resculpted out of all 6 movies. So, maybe I'd like to ask that question too, now that figured out what I want to say, but obviously reword as desired. That was actually our question that got the 2 ESB waves answer. :p

Anyway, I'm not sure about this, it's a pretty deep discussion and is specifically asking about something they're probably not ready to divulge, not to mention criticizing them over 2 waves of ESB. And we already have most of 1 wave's worth of figures known, you have 3 and there's also the SA Hoth Rebel Trooper. So I'm not sure yet, let me think about it, and if you have a rewrite, hit me up with it tomorrow in the new poll's thread.

NEW QUESTION (I hope - don't have time to read this whole thread):

How come Galactic Heroes Slave Leia and Bar-2-Dee-Two are short-packed or missing from many of the shipped GH cases? All the previous questions about shortpacking have been "production limitations" answers, they can only manufacture so many at a time. This is supported by the fact that it's a wave 2 figure but it's not even in wave 2 cases, only in wave 2 revision 2 and 3, so there are 2 earlier versions of wave 2 floating around without it, suggesting they didn't have it available at the time. But it could be something else, so LMK if you still want to ask it.

Since a vote this time for the tunic question (26, I think???) I'll leave that off this time and vote for 3, 10, 13, 17, 21 & 23.

Also, on my question about 2 ESB waves, I'll add it back tomorrow, but I definitely didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, but more surprised. I love ESB and would want all ESB figures eventually... there are just others I want first and Hasbro even admits how much they love Cantina & Jabba's Palace aliens (and works to get them in each year), so between that and the fact that there are a lot more ANH & ROTJ (as well as in the 3 PT movies) figures yet to be made or resculpted. So, logically it just seemed (to me) like any other movie would be a more obvious choice. Hopefully I can word it better, but the real thing I was doing was trying to get another confirmed figure, but make it seem like a theme question. As much as Hasbro has stated they either didn't like or weren't going to do more "are you going to make x figure?" questions, they do keep answering them most times.

Thanks for your explanation re: re-wording questions... I understand, and I appreciate that SSG's questions tend to be the best out there. Sadly, the quality (and density!) of our questions seem to engender half-arsed answers, though their last one about the TS selection process was quite interesting, if a bit incomplete. Regarding diplomacy, I probably should avoid "fracking motherfrackers" in my questions in future, huh?

JT: Right, I reworked the question to say that, Hasbro CLAIMS it's being absorbed into other waves, that's why I said it that way.

Understood but the absorption rate for Wave 4 is drier than the Gobi Desert! Out of the 6 ships in the wave, none have shown up (even for preorder into 2009). Time to fetch the Comfy Chair. At this point, fans have very little info about future waves and the info we've received from Hasbro is often inaccurate.

I'll vote for the 2 Titanium questions: 25 & 8... though I'd think they could be merged into one question. Wow - glad to see that we're getting some serious vote traction! It's gotta be a good thing for SSG, too: when I google "Titanium Series", SSG forums rule! Seems that SSG has cornered a nice chunk of the market that most other fan sites are neglecting. I'd imagine that it's harder to stand out in the 3-3/4" figure area which is heavily covered.

Though I know it won't be added this round, I wanted to throw this out there before I forgot:

*Many collectors have expressed disappointment over the Disturbance at the Lars Homestead set. While we understand that the dome was the focus of the set (and the dome itself is quite nice), why is the base so extremely flimsy and cheap-looking? The example shown in the Comic Con slideshow featured more defined sculpting and a much nicer paint job, so why was the set changed for the worse? Though you do not set the price yourself, we know that you work with retailers to develop exclusives at certain pricepoints, and most people feel that $50 is way too steep for three old figures, an old accessory, a new unarticulated creature, a nice dome, and a cheap base.

It's a little harsh but the idea is solid, I think.

Since a vote this time for the tunic question (26, I think???) I'll leave that off this time and vote for 3, 10, 13, 17, 21 & 23.That COULD NOT have been more confusing for me. :p Next time, just let me know what questions you are adding to your previous vote unless you're changing one. But I've got it this time, so don't worry. And your reasoning is understandable on your #26 tunic question de-voting.

Also, on my question about 2 ESB waves, I'll add it back tomorrow, but I definitely didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, but more surprised. As much as Hasbro has stated they either didn't like or weren't going to do more "are you going to make x figure?" questions, they do keep answering them most times. That's rough, because ultimately by saying you love it, just feel it's less deserving, you're still saying it's at the bottom. I think now that it's out in the open, it can be addressed without falling into that pitfall. I honestly don't think we'll get a confirmed figure out of the question, but give it a shot, we'll see. Don't try to get too convoluted though, or you'll lose ME. ;)

Regarding diplomacy, I probably should avoid "fracking motherfrackers" in my questions in future, huh?You can include it, but I will just write it out unless it's a BSG-themed question and sure that they'll get the joke. I tend to look at the their half-arsed answers as "nuggets of wisdom in a sea of corporate hand-tying". If you look at the 1-on-1 Q&A I got at Comic-Con, they have some things they can't talk about and some things they have to dance around, but when they're allowed to talk, they can really go for it. And their off-the-record stuff is pure gems, they can be very straight-up when it's like that. But I honestly do feel like we're getting some very good lessons from these answers for those who can sift the wheat from the chaff in their answers, I certainly have a new appreciation for those managing the line, a new understanding of limitations and pegwarmers, and their perceptions - and I've used it against them to get our way on a few things!

though I'd think they could be merged into one question. No, I don't want to do that. They're both rounded, full questions as it is, so combining them would result in an underwhelming answer for both parts, and I really don't want that for the latest TS question.

Wow - glad to see that we're getting some serious vote traction! It's gotta be a good thing for SSG, too: when I google "Titanium Series", SSG forums rule! Seems that SSG has cornered a nice chunk of the market that most other fan sites are neglecting. It's the passion of the fans, we don't have a ton but we have a few that really like to talk and think Titaniums, and it makes a HUGE difference. I'm glad to be able to bring our forums' enthusiasm for the brand to every encounter I have with Hasbro.

Though I know it won't be added this round, I wanted to throw this out there before I forgot:

It's a little harsh but the idea is solid, I think.Ouch! I almost feel like apologizing to Brian Wilk at the outset of that one, since it was one of his babies to try to get what we've been asking for out there.

Also, the Comic-Con one had no such thing from what I can see, it looks the same, just nicer lighting in the photography than in the store.

And the base is vacuform because of the expense, that's why it's such underwhelming material, the actual house is where all the money went, as said in this June 20th answer:
ThePrivateUniverse.co.uk: A mock up of the long rumored Disturbance at the Lars Homestead has turned up. Now this mock up is showing the POTF 2 Owen Lars, is the Owen going to be replaced with a new one? That mold is old and doesn't hold up compared to the new figures. Is the igloo dome plastic and does it have a removable top or anything inside? Finally, can you possibly through in the crispy Owen and Beru skeletons in there as an accessory? After all, you have released skeletons and crispy characters before (Amanaman's accessory and Sith Anakin)
Thanks again for letting us have the opportunity to ask questions.
Hasbro: To be honest, this was a bear of set for us to produce and our expense is tied up in the homestead itself, so even though we wanted to, we could not get the figures updated (the alternative was never doing the set at all).
The dome is injection-molded plastic and there is a table on the inside fastened to the base. The crispy skeletons are not included... we aren't planning to do them.

So, if we expand from this knowledge, we begin to see why playsets in general aren't happening, it cost them the wholesale version of $50 to produce a small, simple dome house and womp rat statue with 3 older reissued figures and a dirt-cheap vacuformed base.

Anyway, I'm not saying "no", but let's discuss it a little more in the next thread first, it definitely needs a little refinement.

Alright, that's it for this round. Thanks to everybody for voting!

Here are the questions we're asking this round:

With the recent release of The Force Unleashed and the success of Hasbro's TFU product in the 2008 TAC line, what are the chances of getting more TFU figures beyond the 2009 Felucia Shaak Ti you recently confirmed? Understanding that the soonest there could be new TFU items is 2010, collectors want PROXY, more of Starkiller's costumes, a new Juno Eclipse more accurate to the final game, accurate Incinerator Troopers, teenage Princess Leia, battle-damaged Rahm Kota, Kazdan Paratus, accurate Jump Troopers, shadow versions of the various troopers, and even a 3.75" figure version of the Rogue Shadow and the Bull Rancor. Any of these gonna happen, and what can we do to increase that likelihood?
Not long ago, we asked which EU figures were their personal favorites and wishlist entries, but none of the ones listed were from the Marvel series. With the upcoming Lumiya figure (and by the way, who will she be coming with in that comic 2pack? Issue #96 suggests Luke from the duel, but perhaps someone else maybe?), what other Marvel figures might be on the team members' EU wishlists?
Back in Dec '07, you told us that while you didn't have a carded basic Wedge Antilles planned, there was "at least one cool new Wedge figure" due in '08 if your schedule held.
Back in May, one of your answers about The Force Unleashed was that you're looking at 1 more TFU figure for 2009, and that as the Hasbro Star Wars team saw and played more of the game new ideas for toys from TFU would "spring forth"; more recently, you said that the soonest there could be new TFU items is 2010. Now that we've all had a chance to play this awesome new Star Wars game, some collectors are champing at the bit for another whole wave of TFU figures. What TFU items have found their way onto the Hasbro team's wishlists (beyond PROXY, whom you've already said is on your list)?
Might you be willing to give us some of the lowdown on what will be coming up from the Greatest Hits sub-line? With the Saga Legends line (we're aware this is different from GH) reusing last year's Yoda on Kybuck, fans would like to see if Greatest Hits might find some figures from that TAC EU wave which were hard to get, such as Darth Revan, Darth Malak, Pre-Cyborg Grievous. And it's not like the main lines where everything's a secret until development's done, Greatest Hits is made up of existing figures, so could we know what to expect in the sub-line?
While we were very pleased to see many new tools for Titanium Series at your Comic-Con display, fans of the line have had a bumpy ride lately.
