1x Jar Jar (Jedi Robe)
1x Battle Droid (Jet Pack)
1x Clone Trooper (New Deco - Green)
1x Kit Fisto

Jar Jar and Kit Fisto should be sweet. We haven't had a new Jar Jar in six years!

I wonder if the droid and clone are based off things seen in the actual show or just pulled out of Hasbro's ***?

We've seen the Battle Droid with Jet Pack already in the show, and the green clone is coming up in a new episode.

Where? I don't remember any at all. There were the space droids in Rising Malevolence, but they had the lights on their heads and no jetpacks, and then the firefighter droids in Destroy Malevolence, which I think had backpacks but not jetpacks per se. Or maybe it's just like the Clone Trooper with space gear, who looks mostly like Plo's clones but has the added gear.

Wookieepedia calls them Rocket Droids, but this picture (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/1/12/Hunterbattledroid.jpg) shows no jet pack. I remain unconvinced. ;) :D

Eh, I don't honestly remember either way. I haven't seen it since it was on during the Sunday replay.

Been meaning to ask you for like a year now BD -- what is that a pic of in your avatar?

I'll get Kit and the Clone repaint. I'll have to see JJB in person. I don't generally go in for him.

Mr. JabbaJohnL
11-17-2008, 04:58 PM
Wow, that looks great! Kit almost looks too realistic, but otherwise is cool. Jar Jar is probably the standout one here. The droid is indeed the one from Shadow of Malevolence, so he'll go well with the space gear clone from wave 4. The green clone is nothing to write home about but I love the Hevy gun (as seen in my avatar)!

I'm really loving this line more than I thought I would be. :D

I like that they gave the Battle Droid knee articulation, I wish the first one had it.

found this over at RebelScum.com and EntertainmentEarth.com looks like a mix of Wave 4 and 5. liking the size of the chain gun with that Clone, looks like a major improvment over the one that came with the Hunt for Grievous set

JediTricks
11-21-2008, 04:31 AM
That chain gun is way too big IMO, look at the pic in JabbaJohn's avatar, it's leaner and a little shorter. Still, cool that they're doing it.

In the picture of the prototype (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120346647249&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=110323389118&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DDR%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3 DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D4#ebayphotohosting), it appears as though they got rid of the leg articulation. That's too bad.

Battle Droid
12-10-2008, 03:32 AM
Maybe they just weren't originally going to be articulated.

If not, then that's a good question for Hasbro in the Q&A.

Is anyone else a little saddened that we finally get a decent, up-to-date Jar Jar figure, but in animated form?

JediTricks
01-06-2009, 04:57 PM
Told you guys there was no way they'd do knees on the Battle Droid. They're very clear about this, the part is too small to get articulation in there without losing structural integrity.

Nobody else is saddened by that. We're saddened by the fact that there's another Jar Jar figure at all. ;)

Battle Droid

Ha, I like how they're moving away from the original animated series but they gave Kit a version of the SCUBA Trooper's backpack. :D

I like the battle droid's weapon; it looks like the boarding ship.

Which is why I said "a version of the SCUBA Trooper's backpack," not "the exact same backpack." Compare them, though, and this new one was obviously based off of that one.

Amen. I don't think it was the lack of popularity of the character was the cause of the dearth of new Jar Jar figures. There was simply very few choices of what to do with the figure. We got a basic fig, the "swimming" fig, and the Senate Robes fig. There were no real other outfits or scenarios that justified a new figure. With the animated series, they finally got something different enough to warrant a new figure, and from the looks of the pic they nailed it completely. So for now - well done Hasbro!

Though we do still need his two Senate Robes done.

The one they did was in a strange action pose. And the cooler one from Padme's Apartment hasn't been done at all.

Then why did the first pic we saw of it have knees?:pAs far as I know, that was your imagination. The picture was vague, you saw the painted lines and assumed they were jointed knees.

Looks like it. I've never seen that proto photo before. Could be the prototype was unfinished, or Lucasfilm didn't like the look, or they realized there was no reason to spend more money on this mold than necessary. Keep in mind, the base of the neck also looks like it's articulated, but that's REALLY unlikely, you can tell it's an early prototype by that and the alternate design on the elbows that they'd NEVER use. And Lucasfilm probably wouldn't approve that knee design on aesthetic reasons.

I finally found Jar Jar and the Rocket Battle Droid at a Target. There was only one of each and they didn't have Kit or the clone.

Jar Jar's ears were placed in the packaging oddly, so they look like they're flying out behind him. You can fix that by putting the cloak around them. I really like this figure, though. If they gave him knee articulation (which this line seems to be averse to), he would be perfect. The droid is pretty cool as well.

Found this wave today...at K-Mart. Went ahead and got it despite the $8.99 price. Even the gal at the register noted that they were expensive. I only checked at K-Mart because it had been a while since I'd found anything new in both CW and Legacy anywhere else.

Yeah. Wal-Mart has a lot of full pegs, but it is all older Clone Wars and older Legacy figures. Plenty of the ANH wave, except for the Jawa it seems. Target doesn't have as much, but they are stuck more on the ROTS wave. Same with Fred Meyer
