View Full Version : Should they Make James Bond 007 figures ?

would anyone be interested if they made a series of 3 3/4 figures of Bond and some of the baddies along with Bond Gadgets ?

I would love to see perhaps a series of each of the Bond players, perhaps a signature vehicle and one of the bad guys along with a Bond girl.

maybe Mezco can pick up the license and give us a decent series.

Corgi announced they were doing that a while back, they even had sculpts/info at TF. And I learned recently that the line was canceled due to "lack of retailer interest."

Shame too as I think it could've been awesome. you can read our ramblings here: http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=35923

I for one, would love to see a Bond line spanning all the films. so many characters, villians, Bond girls, henchmen and versions of Bond could be done!

This would go the way of the Indiana Jones line but would be a longer and more agonizing death. Once everyone gets their bond with costume specific to each movie, they'd get each Bond in tuxedo. There'd be the Bond Girls, Q, the Ms, a couple of cars, and in the end, lots and lots of peg warmers of Bond in movie specific outfits. Some won't buy Sean Connery from a certain movie, no one will touch George Lazenby, Rodge Moore is goofy, No, not Timothy Dalton, Pierce Bronson doesn't need to smirk, and Daniel Craig is blond...

I would buy each of the Bonds, even Lazenby.

Its a good idea. Sideshow has the license but hasnt made any 12" figures in a while. Not sure why they havnt done any figures of Daniel Craig either.

Corgi/Master Replicas just filed for Chapter 11 -so I dont think any 007 will be coming anytime soon. Shame too, cause they were going to do a Christopher Lee signed Golden Gun replica which I was excited about.

Bond isnt a kinds thing anyway. So you wouldnt be able to find them in mainstream stores.

I think that if the kept the line simple and started perhaps just with the most recent Bond flicks Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace then perhaps the line could take off and work real well. I figure if we were to get perhaps 2-4 Bond figures (max 2 versions from each movie, ie Tux version and another outfit), a bond girl, villian and perhaps one vehicle - signiture Aston Martin the might survive.

another road that could possibly work (and i do say possibly) is perhaps Hasbro can incorporate a subline of GI JOE style Bond figures or perhaps make an exclusive version of Bond as a mail-away figure. i mean I can see Bond kicking it with Duke and the team as they battle Cobra.

(truth is I really really really really want to see figures made of Bond and all the Bond Girls from all the films.):yes::yes:

No. They'd try to include all the Bonds, and the Chinese workers would scream and run from the factory when asked to apply the lead paint to the ugly mug of Daniel Craig.

Sounds cool, but my collecting budget is so spread over SW, IJ, Hellboy, "retro cloth" Star Trek, and Doctor Who figs at the moment that adding any other line would break the bank for me.

i hear ya on breaking the bank. but a part of me wants the Bond babes and either a Bond figure of Moore, Connery, and Craig....plus a scaled Aston Martin with all the bells and whistles would be awesome

Bond toys have been done in the past, and except for the vehicles they always fail. I'd love to see them try, but really, the gadgets aren't fun at these small scales, so the appeal is the character, and kids can't relate to that anymore.
