When I lived in Spain, UHT milk was the only thing available. There's something inherently wrong about buying a room temperature container of milk from off the shelf. :dead:

Jargo's right: UHT milk is not of this earth.

With no one from those [Super Bowl] teams in the game.Vote for all them, then. It's be cool to have no starters in the game, having to wait for what would be a series for each squad, then put in the reserves!

(whisper, whisper)

Oh. Yeah, I guess that'd work instead.

Um, isn't the pro-bowl squad chosen well before we know who's going to be in the Super-Bowl? The pro-bowl should be the week after thanksgiving. That way a lot of really important players get a chance to get injured in a meaningless game just before the final push to make the play-offs.

Darth Jax

Rain is the last thing we need in Maryland right now. I was out in the yard playing with the youngling this weekend and it literally made a squishing noise as we walked over it. (He's only 22 lbs, so I don't think it was some weight issue.) We were both covered in mud by the time we were done. At any rate, I'm about ready to start pooping at work for fear that our septic tank won't drain any more.

I usually buy microwave popcorn. I haven't had the stove-top kind since I was a kid. I've got a box of Orville Redenbacker with butter, but I really prefer Pop Secret Homestyle. For some reason, I can't find Pop Secret locally any more. General Mills sold the brand to another company recently so maybe that's it.

Hood was pulling 252 cubic feet per second, so no odor at all until I brought the glassware to the sink to wash. Sadly, my lab isn't compliant with new rules, I gotta go inventory stuff.

Must of what I got is DNA oligos in the freezer (a whole freezer full of 26mers single stands and their compliments), a malonic acid derivative (you taste it to see how sugary it is), and some Acetic Acid which the saftey peopl wrote me up for not having it in a flamable cabinet, I'm like what, vinegar is flamable?

That was a pretty long winded post about work like stuff, with big words like Acetic and derivative, and malonic or oligos which made my brain spin and lose isterest in the post.

It's okay, I'm fluent in science geek so I'll translate for you.

Basically he said the place he keeps his chemicals has a lot of air pulled out every minute to make sure nothing escapes into the lab.

Then he went on to describe the things in his freezer he needs to inventory. A 26mer means that these dna strands are 26 bases long (like gattaca only a little over 3x as long) The complimentary strands of DNA have the bases that bind to the ones on the other strand. Since G only binds to C and T only binds to A, the complimentary strand of gattaca would be ctaatga. The malonic acid thingy must have been a joke since you never taste anything in the lab unless you're a food chemist. Sadly the acetic acid comment is true. While vinegar is extremely diluted acetic acid, pure acetic acid (also called glacial acetic acid) has to be kept in a flammable cabinet since it can apparently catch fire if exposed to temperatures over 102F.
