Had a company thing at Dave & Busters last night... lots of fun, but the last time I was there, they had the sit-down OT Star Wars game that you start off fighting Ties and then the Death Star in ANH, then AT-ST's, probe droids & AT-AT's, make your way through the rebel base past snowtroopers & wammas in ESB, then ride a speederbike chasing scouttroopers, AT-ST's etc... ok, you know the one... welll it was no longer there.

Yes, that sucks. I loved that game. I wasn't too good at it, but I had fun at least. The screen was pretty big, I don't think playing that on my computer would feel quite the same. Plus if I recall the joystick was between the knees like a pilot, but I may be wrong. I wanted to buy one for my house.

obi-dad
02-25-2009, 08:07 AM
Well, I did find it at a local movie theater, but I seldom go to that one (though I may need to start going there more often). I was always best at the ESB wave, so I started there, then to ROTJ and finally to ANH. I could usually finish the ESB & ROTJ without dropping more money in, but often had to to get through the ANH wave.

What we didn't know, was that the Star Wars arcade game, was based on the old Power Rangers arcade game, except everything in the SW game is different and cooler and looked nothing like the Power Rangers game. :D

Then the reporter called me back, she spoke with Josh and he gave her a lot of info, so basically our story will be made into a novel!

Really it will be just a newspaper article. I thought you would understand the way Tycho aka Josh goes on in his posts, you would understand his tendency to talk about a novels worth of information.

My wife is lactose intolerant. Whenever I go to the store for milk I buy a gallon of Lactose free for her, a gallon of whole for my son, and a gallon of skim for myself. I've gotten weird looks from people before while doing that. I usually just tell them I'm doing a taste-test at home and they quickly look the other way.

In honor of Frett's first day back at work, here is a recipe for Beefsteak and Kidney pie from Cooks.com

2 1/2 lbs. top sirloin, cut into 2" cubes
1 lb. lamb kidneys, quartered
1 lg. thinly sliced onion
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef bouillon, undiluted
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Marjoram & thyme
1/4 lb. mushroom caps
2 tbsp. flour
Oil for browning
Pie pastry

Soak kidneys in cold, lightly salted water for 30 minutes. Drain, remove skin and membrane. Dry and cut into quarters. Heat oil in heavy skillet or Dutch oven. Brown beef, add kidneys and onions, saute about 5 minutes. Add bouillon and 1/2 can of water. Add salt, pepper and herbs. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer gently, covered, for 2 hours. Add mushrooms. With slotted spoon, remove meat mixture into large glass pie plate. Place shot glass in center to "hold up" the crust. Stir flour into liquid, bring to boil, pour over meat. Cover with pastry, gashed to allow steam to escape. Bake at 450 degrees until pastry is slightly brown.

PB's location tag got me thinking of a new way to get out of a speeding ticket. Since the Heisenberg uncertainty principle states that you can't know both the speed and location of a particle, if the officer put the location of where he/she clocked you over the speed limit on the ticket, then he couldn't possibly know your speed. Yay physics, case dismissed.

His mom mailed us the Social Security card, we went back today, and they told us, because he is 18, he needed a proof of residency. I told them 'he lives with me", but that wasn't good enough. So now he figures it will help him to quit smoking, which is something that I am all for.

Last October, after returning from San Diego, I got a letter from the Florida Department of public aid stating I owed $522.00 in back child support. I made copies of my paperwork showing that I now had custody of my son, and that child support was terminated, as well as other documentation. Today I was checking my bank statement and I see a tex refund of $232.00 in my account. I should have gotten a refund of $1,266.00. When I went to the IRS.gov website, it said there was a child support amount taken out. I am livid, then to top things off, I found out that the Illinois department of Public Aid sent my sons mother a Wal-Mart health insurance card. It would cost me more than a grand to hire an attorney. I've made three copies of all the important documents I have showing that I have custody, and that support was terminated to my son's mom in July of 2007. I plan on mailing one copy to the Florida Department of Public Aid, one copy to the Florida state Govenor, and one copy to the Illinois States Attorney.
