odd that you'd choose a tusken pic (stead of a trooper pic) as your representation of the 501st.

Subway was out of ham. What's up with that?I still laugh anytime I go by the local Carl's Jr. (west coast burger joint) that told me in the drive-thru that they were out of small meat. So, just buns and condiments, then?

Isn't the 501st considered any movie-quality costumes, not just Imperials? Therefore, Mr. Frett would be in the right.

I guess she fell asleep at the wheel at as she said from her hospital bed, she hit a few ditches. The bad thing is, they don't have full coverage insurance, and they think the car is totaled. We originally though she drove home, back to Indiana last night, but she stayed at her sisters place, then drove home this morning. She has sleep apnea.

I hope she recovers quickly.

Thank you, Me too. I'm just glad she seems to be alright, a little bruised. My stepson and his father were over at my in-laws today, waiting for them to arrive home, but she was at the hospital, and her husband went to meet her there. When I find out more, I'll let you know.

I came in the first time at 5AM to get an experiment set up. I'll be getting a bunch of monkey parts (Lymph node, Blood, Gut associated Lymphatic tissue, and broncheo-alvelolar lavavge) later on that will keep me here until about 7 tonight. Unfotunately, I don't get overtime.

and he leaves us hanging with how the monkey parts turned out

Sorry. We did a CD8 depletion (using injected antibody) 2.5 weeks ago to take out the effector T-cells in a chronically SIV infected subject. We plan to do an autogolous transfer next week of SIV specific (meaning they kill cells infected with the virus) T-cell clones that have been treated in different ways to help them (hopefully) home to different areas of the monkey. Yesterdays testing was to confirm that endogenous CD8 levels are indeed lowered (they are.) So, I get to come to work about 2am on sunday and harvest what I'm hoping will be about 20 billion almost identical (except for the treatment to induce differential homing) cells, label them with tracking dyes, and get them ready for infusion about 8:00 AM an hour down the road at the Bethesda Campus.

Darth Jax
06-10-2009, 09:54 AM
just make sure all your monkeys have SIV, rather than RAGE.

I hope it goes well. When my wife had our son, her water never really broke. She had a slow leak, but the OB said our sons head was plugging up the hole pretty well holding most of the fluid in. Consequently pushing wasn't as effective as it could have been and I was robbed of a good nights sleep. Hope it goes easier for your sister.

From Merriam Webster

The Word of the Day for June 18, 2009 is:

short shrift • \SHORT-SHRIFT\ • noun

1 : barely adequate time for confession before execution
2a : little or no attention or consideration b : quick work

Example Sentence:
Parents are complaining that, due to recent budget cuts, physical education and arts programs have been given short shrift in the local schools.
Did you know?
The word "shrift" is an archaic noun referring to the confession or absolution of sins. These days, "shrift" is rarely encountered on its own, but it does keep frequent company with "short" in the phrase "short shrift." The earliest known use of the phrase comes from William Shakespeare's play Richard III, in which Lord Hastings, who has been condemned by King Richard to be beheaded, is told by Sir Richard Ratcliffe to "Make a short shrift" as the king "longs to see your head." Shakespeare uses this phrase quite literally ("keep your confession short"), but since at least the 19th century the phrase has been used figuratively to refer to a small or inadequate amount of time or attention given to something.
