Not to beat a dead horse, but the verb tener plus the word sueño create the idiomatic phrase "to be sleepy" (e.g. Yo tengo sueño. ¿Tú tienes sueño? Nosotros tenemos sueño.) Dormir, indeed means to sleep just as soñar means to dream. In this case, the verb estar doesn't enter into the equation at all to express the phrase of the state of being sleepy.

Isn't it from uncooked cookie dough this time? The worst part is the article I read said it was the hemmoragic strain O157 H7. I always make my own anyway (at least any outbreak would be contained that way,) but it's still kind of scary.

I made cookies on saturday and gave the beaters to my son. He loved it and hasn't had any ill effects. As long as you wash your hands frequently and are careful with eggs (they're sterile on the inside) there's not much to worry about.

Speaking of getting poked: the budget ax falls today with county employees in general and my department (sheriff) in particular. It looks to be messy.

The once great ship known as California is sinking. Our legislators still can't pass a budget that the Governator hasn't threatened to veto.

That's awful. Of all the people we really need, law enforcement, teachers, and rescue personnel top my list (in no particular order.) I know very little about what the State of California spends its money on, but it seems like there are other programs that should be eliminated first. I'm just glad you weren't in the half that was laid off. Hopefully the others will be rehired soon.

I don't want to get too political, but a large part of it is Schwarzenegger's unwillingness to increase any business taxes, even adding new loopholes while the state's in a crisis. You can't willy-nilly approve every single initiative on the ballot that costs money for twenty or thirty years, yet never come up with a way to pay for it.

Personally, I think the state constitution needs to be overhauled to make it not quite so easy to come up with new ways to waste state money. The programs that need funding always seem to be the first to get cut.

Thanks for the concerns, it is appreciated!

What we're trying to figure out now is the Sheriff's Office's administration wants the remaining six of us to cover a county the size of the state of Massachusetts eighteen hours a day (we'd go dark from midnight to six []; seven days a week. We'd be subject to call-out (let me refer you back to our busy time of midnight to six).

- reduce the area of the county using 2 pi r3
- the train from Cleveland will arrive first
- roosters don't lay eggs
- there are 17 squares
- 42 (just figure out The Great Question)
- the Battle of Hastings
