On the "news that makes you sick" front, but not in quite the same way as some other stories recently, have you all read about the dooshbag justice of the peace in Louisiana? The one who started out as a justice of the peace eight years after the Supreme Court ruling on Loving v Virginia was handed down?

No matter what that guy says, I'm convinced he's got some white sheets hanging in his closet.

mtriv73

Got a link? I'm not familiar with the story and I'm not exactly up to par on supreme court decisions either.

Some states while claiming literatacy amongst their people really aren't. When it comes time for the test, instead of reading they ask what color crayon is the prettiest and it is written like Candyland.

Yeah, "literatacy" is a huge problem.

On a serious note: That story is un-freakin-believable. That guy should be thrown out of office immediately, make a very public apology, and pay for the wedding.

When I lived in New Orleans in my high school/early college years, you'd hear about backward officials like this from time to time.

Thankfully, most of the state is filled with wonderful people. When we moved there from California, all I was expecting was the Easy Rider attitude. That was rare (I think I experience that more here back in my native state of Cali). This jerk wouldn't approved my my marriage, either (neither would have Hitler). You've spent too much time discussing this pathetic life form. Move along...move along!

El Chuxter
10-19-2009, 09:04 PM
Houses are going for about three bucks right now, so you should have no problem.

Seriously, it sucks, because I figured out, based on the tax value, my house is worth about 55% of what I paid for it. Barring a resurgence in values (which, thankfully, should be forthcoming in the next few years), I'd have to pay on it for about 15 years just to owe the current value. :dead:

Cow pies are a very tasty chocolate and oatmeal cookie type confection. I don't think I've had one in several years, might just have to track one down or pick up the ingredients.

Here's one recipe (http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1837,148183-246206,00.html), but the ingredents tend to vary depending on the cook.

I know this isn't something anyone would say often, but I really hope it's just food poisoning or a reaction to something, even if I ate at my favorite restaurant last night. (Could be that the halibut had come into contact with another type of fish in the fridge, or something.) No other symptoms, aside from being exhausted from losing several hours of sleep, so I don't think it's the flu, swine or otherwise. Could be wrong.
