Is that like salsaburry steak or more like the salisbury steak we were all fed by mothers who were sometimes too busy to actually cook?

whats the deal with nobody giving you money. first the state of FLA takes it away, now the bank...

That should read, your ex-bank..........

It has been a major headache. Now this morning, after the money finally cleared through yesterday, I was assesed a $39 fee for what I can only assume is a returned check fee, but it does not show on my credit account, nor my bank account. The other major check I had returned of almost $2,000.00, I was assesed the $39 fee, but it took almost 3 days for the money to show as being refunded. I'm really angry. :upset:

I just had a really harrowing experience.

I was outside minding my own business, working in the yard, and I came inside. Suddenly, someone with enough strength to kick in a deadbolted door did just that. He had murder in his eyes, and a bloody axe in his hand. Thankfully, I had set my alarm system in the half-second since I'd come inside, and this deranged would-be killer was apparently deathly afraid of sirens and ran away just as the phone rang. It was Broadview Security. I told them what happened, and the guy said, "I'm sorry, sir, but you're not a pretty white girl. Goodbye."

It's not because you're an American, it's because you're an American and don't have a sufficiently warped sense of humor. Were you British, you might still need your sense of humor warped but it would be far less likely.

Well at least this year I know what I'll be doing (on paper at least), I get to help load heavy items into customers cars. In the past years I would go in and find out that day where I would be assigned. One year I was on mop duty as it was snowing and the carts being brought in would be covered in snow, and it would melt, and I was there to keep it as dry as possible.

Some unwanted advice: do start saving for tuition....NOW, however! With a twenty-year-old under my roof finishing community college and soon to go off to a real university next year, the time comes up fast and there's never enough bucks to cover everything. But saving now does make a substantial dent and lessens the financial shock. :getsoffsoapbox:

Been to Grundy several times, but I don't think I could find it now without the help of a GPS and an R2 unit for a navigator. Roanoke and Blacksburg are a different story, partly because I spent more time there and partly because they're right off the interstate. :D

I spent the first 2/3 or so of my life so far living and working in the Bluefield/Princeton area with weekend trips to the Beckley/Summersville area. After being in Tennessee for about 10 years, I can't see a reason to go back for anything more than a visit. IMHO it's a great place to be from, not such a great place to be - especially in the current economy.

Modern Toilet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Modern Toilet is a bathroom-themed restaurant located in Taipei, Taiwan.
Modern toilet is a unique bathroom themed restaurant with several locations throughout Taiwan. [1] Everything in the 2800 square foot three story restaurant is based on items from a bathroom. The checkered tile covered walls are adorned with showerheads, while plungers hang from the ceiling along with fces-shaped lights. The chairs are actual unworking toilets, dishes are served on plastic miniature toliet bowls, and drinks in miniature urinals. [2] Owner Wang Tzi-Wei opened Modern Toilet after the success of his ice cream shop that sold swirls of ice cream served in mini toilets. [3] It is not unusual for Taiwan to host unusual themed restaurants. Taiwan also has eating locales that resemble jailhouses and hospitals. [4]
[edit]History

Owner Wang Zi-Wei, an ex-banker, stated that his inspiration for the bathroom themed restaurant came from a Japanese robot cartoon character. This character, Jichiwana loved to "play with poop and swirl it on a stick." From this cartoon inspiration, he started a successful ice cream shop selling swirled chocolate ice cream on top of paper squat toilets. The chain of Modern Toilets now has 12 restaurants in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Japan with future locations planned in Macau and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. [5]
[edit]Dining

Customers dine while sitting on acrylic toilets scented with "roses, seashells or Renaissance paintings." The tables that the meals are served on are bathroom sinks covered with a glass top. Meals are prepared in a miniature toliet bowl and drinks are contained in a miniature plastic urinal which the customers can take home with them as a souvenir. Dessert ice cream is served in a dish that resembles a squat toilet. [5]

they put normal stuff on their pizza or do they use toppings we would consider strange?Actually, this pizza place is the first one that I've ever seen out in town. They must love it though since when we have an open base almost every person (literally) is seen carrying a box or two of pizza from the base pizza places. As for there toppings that they like they are strange. Everything I've heard since I got here has told me that the favorite combination is: tuna, corn, mayo. Seriously.

But wouldn't they say it in Japenese?Suprisingly probably not. You'd really be surprised how much the English language is used over here. Most every business has the name of the store etc. in English and NO kanji, katakana, etc. yet nobody inside will speak a word of English. It's strange and threw me for a loop when I first got here because you'd think that since it's all written in JUST English (instead of at least a combination of both languages) that they'd have English speakers.

Sorry sir, you see I tend to keep my messages, as some are from members who have left this Earth, others were communications from the time before the surgery. If I knew a quick method to save these outside copying and pasting them in my e-mail, I would clear them out.

Okey dokey, I'll go public then. Regarding the shirts: too big, too small, just right? I'd like to know the correct size in case something else should come your way in the future......it's difficult to judge on line!

Thanks!

Just fine. Though I plan on trying to lose about 70 pounds. I was hoping to be picked as one of the 10 finalists in the Seattle Suttons healthy eating, in doing so, I would have recieved 14 weeks of the calorie and portion controlled meals, three a day, times 7 days a week, and I would have had to exercise. The meals run about $136.00 a week for 21 meals, plus an $18 fee to have them delivered twice a week. But from what I gather, potential contestants were called already, and my phone did not ring.

I was discussing this with mabs yesterday. There's this story about a Hebrew kid who's born while the pharoah is committing infanticide on a massive scale. He's raised by the pharoah's daughter, and eventually kills a Egyptian slavedriver with his bare hands. Then he runs off into the desert, finds a hot chick, talks to God in a burning bush, and comes back, where he defeats Pharoah's sorcerers by turning his staff into a massive snake that eats their staffs. He also turns the river into blood, causes plagues of locusts and frogs, and brings in the angel of death to kill all the Egyptian firstborn (and he avoids the Hebrews because they know to spread sheep's blood on their doors). Then, he leads his people away, drowns Pharoah's army in the sea, and gets mad at the Hebrews a few times, forcing wholesale slaughter of his own people and smashing tablets given to him by God because the people are worshipping a golden cow.

The story of Moses may be the single most metal story ever written.

I've come up with the greatest gag gift ever made.

It's a toaster, see, and it imprints toast with an image of Jesus. Thing is, it has a fairly complicated gear of some sort implanted in it (I'm not very mechanically savvy) which will imprint the image of Jesus only on every fourteenth slice of toast.

The cool thing about it: it comes in special dual packaging. The outer box identifies it as a gag toaster, and shows what it does, and all that good stuff. The inner box, though, looks just like a regular toaster box, and there's nothing inside that identifies the toaster as special. So you buy it as a wedding gift for a friend, give him only the inside box, and, VOILA! Suddenly he is getting toast with the face of Jesus on it, and he doesn't know it's because he has a gag toaster! Much news coverage and possibly big bucks on eBay will ensue.

Pics of the school sounds good to me. I'm not 100% certain, but I think I recall reading somewhere that Ralphie's house from "A Christmas Story" is located here in Ohio. Nowhere near me of course (me being near Cincinnati), but closer to the Cleveland area, which is more around JediPartner's neck of the woods. U.S. President Grant's boyhood home and school is within a quick drive from where I live though. And Guyute visited the prison used for "Shawshank Redemption", which is also in Ohio.

IIRC, several of the freeway fight scenes in Transformers 1 (and possibly the 2nd Matrix film?) were filmed along the 210 freeway near me, before it was opened to traffic. And our old airport terminal gets used for "vintage" films needing 30+ year-old locales (Catch Me If You Can comes to mind).

Thanks for the reminder TI, I may be permanently camped out in the generic thread once this is over.

My pleasure. You and pb need your playground. The rest of us like to play on it, too!

I read somewhere that Cad Bane will marry Asohka Tano in the last episode of Clone Wars, so they don't have the nagging question of where these two are in ROTS, and, yet, don't have to kill anyone.

They will bear a child together. That child will become Waru.

This was in place long before the New Contest! thread. It only takes a golden shovel from time to time! ;)

Check out post #249......

Wow, I was the 2nd post in that thread. Still have to go see what was said in post number 249.

surprisingly, I have no post in that thread (and 1066 in this one (including this one.))

I'll help someone win by getting them one post closer. :)

I have discovered that Galactic Heroes make excellent potty-training bribes. Chux Jr was so enthralled by the WM Dewback, that I pulled out the unopened GH Dewback, put it high on a shelf, and told her she could get it when she went an entire day without an accident. She's now working on the Geonosis Arena set, and has the Kashyyyk and Rancor sets waiting in the wings. I might even part with my Jabba and Cantina sets, if it means no more diapers.

That's a wonderful idea. We started potty training last week while on vacation (better someone else's carpet than ours.) He would use it for a while after watching the Elmo video on potty training but would forget all about it soon thereafter.

I just got potty trained myself, which is a great relief to my wife.

I was hoping the next post would be, "I say you give him to me first!"

I never saw Newsbot as a tin head. I imagine a Terminator version of Katie Couric.

It's been a few years since my last viewing of the Pee-wee's Playhouse Christmas Special. I have to make up for that soon.

The lady who says that is Elvira. Weird, eh?

El Chuxter
12-15-2009, 02:18 PM
No kidding? I never realized that. I knew what she looked like out of costume, but didn't recognize her there. On a side note, I've got Elvira's autograph. That reminds me: I have no clue where my Carrie Fisher in slave gear autograph is. I need to frame that, and put it in a place of honor next to my "Silent Interlude" signed by Hama and Leialoha, or original Wildman sketch of the Baroness.

Going backwards to your last post, for some reason it always made me laugh the most to see that the dinosaurs in the wall celebrated Hannakuh. I'm not sure why.

Wait, two posts in a row? JJL cannot win the kewpie doll! (Does that mean we're going to post #8,001 now?)
