Skeletor and JLU stands

One word of advice, never opt for the economy shipping from them. If I'm going to pay 8.55, I want it to take fewer than 2 and a half weeks to reach my home.

My Sideshow 1:1 Combat Veteran Endoskull arrived after a long struggle (maybe some of you know the bad story with Collector's Gallery). I got this one from Plasma Infusion and the package sent by EMS arrived from USA to Romania (Eastern Europe) in 5 days, being sent Saturday. That is FAST! And Bill from Plasma Infusion was really cool and friendly, they rock!

Can't find the words to describe how cool this bust is with the light up eyes (with fade out effect when turning off) and removable chip. A centerpiece of any collection.

BTW what kind of toothpaste should I use for keeping his teeth pristine? :D

Don't have much Terminator stuff, except that Neca 32" Endoskelleton with glowing eyes. I like it a lot. Hopefully the playmates stuff will be cool.

I think Terminators use WD-40 to brush their teeth. :D Heck they probably bathe in it. It's got that nice fresh scent. lol

Clone Wars Magnaguard - decent, but a bit of a snore. Sculpt is good, not the most exciting guy tho'; paint is good, lots of metal weathering. Upper body is well articulated, but lower body is a let-down, nothing but hips even though the knees beg to be articulated, and the ankle pose makes the figure a little unstable. Electro-staff is cool, but it'd be nice to be able to remove the effect. Giant gun is an interesting sculpt, but it's not that great overall (although it fires that missile pretty hard).

TLC ANH Obi-Wan - great likeness, nice overall sculpt. Paint is ok, could use more wear perhaps tho'. Articulation is astounding, even with soft goods the waist can bend, although new double-neck articulation leaves the figure with a droopy head (even with this initial issue, it's still a great addition to the design). Right hand is in Force Persuasion pose, which doesn't hold the lightsaber so well. Soft goods so far has been a bit of a pain to deal with tho'. Accessories are very nifty.

Sansa Clip 1gb - used, needed this for the drive down to San Diego to play through my car stereo. Decent sound and controls, nice and small, good battery life.

The F-302 and Batboat are very nice, I'll post reviews in the Batman/Superman and Stargate threads soon.

The AT-TE I got at a semi-local Wal-Mart, quite surprisingly they had about 6 or more. They had also had about 4 BMF Falcons for $64 each.

Sounds cool, I've got bad vision and low patience to read right now. Is that your Uncle's book. or someone he knew from the same bomber group?

I saw some DVD multi=pack tins on sale at Hastings for $10.
I'm going to go back and pick up a couple.
One is all the great air battles (even though the cover doesn't say so, the back lists them as such) forgot the name.

The other one is War in Color (not colorized) one of many documentaries on it is actual color footage of filmaker Ford who was on Midway when it was bombarded by the Imperial Navy.

It's a lot easier for me to see it than to read it. I'm so lazy.

No, Rutter flew in the Pacific Theater; my uncle was in the European Theater.

I'm still wanting to know more about the Douglas A-20 Havoc. In the Pacific, it was used extensively in the re-taking of New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. Tactics employed by the pilots were completely different than in Europe. I'm just trying to get a better idea of the aircraft, it's capabilities, and the people who flew and maintained them (ground crews were awesome from the several books I've read so far).

Yep. They were "down and dirty" in comparison to the ETO, IMO. I'm almost done with Rutter's book tonight and they were insane with their low-level tactics! I just can't imagine what they did at their age (old men in their early 20's)! :shakeshead:

Marvel Transformers Iron Man (War Machine) - Hasbro didn't even bother to call this "Stealth Iron Man" or anything, the original repaint was I guess supposed to be the silver Mk 2 armor but the production design is black & silver, which means "War Machine". Decent fig, alt mode could be a little better in the sculpting but holds together and minimal kibble. Transformation is a good one, clever without being too busy. Bot mode is satisfying, a good interpretation and a good bot from jet mode, stuff gets put away or used for once, rather than just kibbilizing. Articulation decent but a little hampered by ratchets with odd points.

Transformers Animated Samurai Prowl - a mix of new and old parts, a new sidecar, the blade star gimmick is taken away, the deco is simplified, but the sculpt is a bit improved (your tastes may vary on the head). Still suffers the alt mode alignment issues of the first figure. Transformation is the same until you snap the sidecar backpack on, then you fold a few parts over, it's simple but works. Bot mode looks decent, accurate, with the armor, and the sword/shield ain't so bad. Articulation is the same overall except improved at the legs a bit, armor hampers the shoulder articulation. A mixed bag, but more good than bad.

Titanium Series Virago - very nice overall, a lighter silver color than previous versions but generally pleasing. Sculpting is mainly fine, although the engines at the base of the wings are lacking their required detail. Wings easy to pull out and guns slightly tipped down, but otherwise fine.

TS Neimoidian Shuttle - A decent sculpt, but not enough metal, and they made the legs immobile in "landed" pose. Stranger still, they made the cockpit open when it doesn't in the film, seems pointless. Good paint though, but a bit small and underwhelming.
