With all of the new figures coming up from Playmates (Star Trek & Terminator), I wanted to go back and dust off some their older stuff. Ironically, I've had Lara above my head at my computer and hadn't ever reviewed her. So here we go...

I missed out on these. I remember seeing some of them, but by the time I got into Tomb Raider and considered getting them, they weren't around anymore. Probably just as well as they don't have the articulation I would like to see.

I did end up getting a couple of 12 inch figures from the first movie, and I was disappointed in the articulation those had.

I also got the NECA 12 inch version that talks, which looks like it might be from Tomb Raider Legend or something. I was disappointed that it also lacked articulation, and it is hard to understand what she is saying.

Most recently, I bought my first figure from Sideshow, and it is Lara (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=28011) from the Tomb Raider Legend game. It looks like a pretty good figure with plenty of articulation and two different outfits, as well as plenty of accessories. I'm afraid to open it and mess everything up, though. At some point I will, because I would like to display it someplace.

Dang, I remember these being better than that. I bought all of those sets, I think they were on sale. Looking at that Lara now, it makes me cringe, the sculpt is so simple (I know you take that into account in the review, but I cannot), the articulation is beyond worthless, and the face paint is really over-simplified. I still kinda dig the Motorcycle one, but I haven't looked at it in a while either. So sad because the 9" sculpts were much better.
