There's no information about this set right now. I'm sure we'll hear something soon, possibly at SDCC. I'm guessing just like with the Cantina Sets a while back, there will be two packs. Since they only have two of the Max Rebo Band characters packed in. I'm sure the other set will probably have the others, as well as maybe a repack Bib Fortuna and few others. Now the question, will they do the newer version of the band or the original. Either way, the set is very kickarse. May even get me on board.

Sweet, although I do already have the slave Leia and Bar2Dee2, plus the Jabba from the Jabbas palace set, I'd l;ove to see Max Rebo's band in original or new version.

It's a pretty dang cool set. Even if it is mostly repack.
Here's the Bar2-Dee2 from the pack I couldn't include.

Not sure who'll be in the second pack. Outside of the given of Sy Snootles and probably a repack of Bib Fortuna. Depends if they do the new band members or just the classic ones.

There is actually one for sale on ebay right now. I hadn't heard anything about this up until I saw it on Ebay, and now here.

I have the Leia, R2, and Jabba, but I will get it for the alternate Jabba with his tongue out.

The Jabba from my (my son's) Jabba's Palace set has his tongue sticking out. The Jabba in this set looks identical to the old one.

My 4 year old will not leave my Max Rebo Band set from when I was a kid alone, so I am glad to be getting one for his extensive galactic heroes collection.

Pretty sweet stuff

I have read about a Medal ceremony pack for galactic heroes and also a death star!

has anyone heard or seen anymore on either of these?

I guess I will just get it for my nephew (4 yo) then and skip it for myself.

I will get this. The band is one of the last things I really want for GH. I hope that the other set has Sy and Salacious Crumb. With the Nien Nunb/Ackbar set coming there isn't much more that I need to feel pretty satisfied with the set.

I agree with Tycho. I'm not gonna drop 20 bucks for 4 figures. :tired:

I'd be willing to bet that this will be closer to the $10-15 price range. As a general rule, GHs in Cinema Scenes cost about $2-$3 each, depending on how many new sculps.

The prior Cinema Scenes were all in the $20-25 range around here.

I wanna know where you shop! Right now on Hasbro Toy Shop the Dagobah X-Wing is $21. That set only had one new figure in it (the Dragonsnake) and everything else is just repainted (Luke the X-Wing and R2). I've never seen them cheaper than $20.

The early Cineam Scenes had 10 figures for $20-25 ($2-2.50 each). Obviously vehicles would reduce the number of figures to keep the same price point.

Sure, but I still don't think you'll see a GH cinema scene for less than $20 at retail. Even though they used to be a better value the ones that had 10 figures still retailed at $25. They've cut back on the number of figures (yes, they have started to build these around vehicles in a lot of cases) but still, $10-$15 is wishful thinking.

The Rancor and Kashyyk Walker sets were TRU exclusives (I think....If not I bought them at TRU anyway...), and they were $19.99. Given the fact that TRU is always more expensive than Target or Wally, I think these will be cheapoer than that...unless they are a TRU exclusive again.

Remember, SHS 4 packs are $10-13 at most retailers. Sure, Jabba is bigger, but I would be stunned to see this set break the $20 mark.

Obviously, if this is half of a two part scene, then the overall value of the 4 packs isn't nearly as good as the 10 packs, but givne the number of new sculpts, I think its worth it.

Last year's TRU Exclusives were $24.99 each. Before the price increase, Tartet had the sets for $19.99 (Jedi Starfighter, Darth TIE, Geonosion Arena and Dewback set). I think they are over $25 now, which is the same or a tad less than hasbrotoyshop.com when you factor in shipping. The new Jabba set will retail in $22-25 range as well. You may get it for $16 on sale, which is what Traget had them for during a couple of sales they have done over the past year. I think the one they did this year brought the price back down to $20 from the $25 they have had them at.

Also, for those of you interested here is another Cinema Scene from the next wave:

In the Medal Ceremony pack what's the deal with Luke's right hand? It looks like a lego grip... is there going to be a removable accessory?

Alpha 315

I got some "R" rated dialoge about that Slave 1, but I'm keeping it "PG" man, "PG".

That is horrible.

Simply horrible.

I only want the vehicle, but only 2 characters? Why not a Bespin guard, or something.

Interchangeable blaster/Lightsaber maybe?

DarkJedi5

They've never done that before. Some one in another thread mentioned how these are starting to become a little less kid-friendly with more articulation and small pieces. I think that an interchangable weapon would prevent it from being ages 3+ like the rest of the line.

The original Chewie from the Playskool Star Wars line had 4 points of articulation and an interchangable weapon/tool, so it wouldn't be impossible.

That being said, it wouldn't surprise me at all that Hasbro decided to make the line slightly more collector oriented than it has been in the past.

I have to say that I am VERY excited about Medal Ceremony Luke. As a kid, I alwasy thought of that as the outfit he wore from the end of Star wars right up until the beginning of ESB; an idea further reinforced by the kid's storybook Mystery of the Rebellious Robot (which was my first ever EU book).

Now we need to see Jedi Padawan Anakin from the Naboo Ceremony....

I saw this new set along with the Yavin Medal Ceremony scene when I went to TRU on my lunch break.

I'll pass on the Jabba set but the medal ceremony has a few figures that I'd like to get.
