View Full Version : What to do about Amanaman's flaccid staff?

So does anyone have any suggestions on how to get Amanaman's staff to stand up straight? I've had this figure about a month and I walk in one day and his staff is slung over his shoulder like it melted or something. What's up with this? It's infuriating.

Talk to your doctor about Viagra.:crazed:

I have his hand propped a little closer to the top where the skulls are and that seems to help out a little bit.

I have Amanaman holding his staff up, with the skulls part leaning against the side of his head. I have also encountered this before also. He can also hold his slaff down against the ground. That doesn't look too bad.

get the figure and staff away from any possible heat source. Mine has never warped out of place...and keep it at a comfortable room temp.

Its not heat that causes the staff to warp, its the material they used to make it out of, its very rubbery. I have mine holding it at the very base of the skulls, and positioned the bottom on the ground so as it won't bend.

I actually plan on making a staff for him myself. You'd think if they were gonna make the skulls solid(=real heavy), they would've chosen a material that was a few steps closer to "solid" to make the whole thing out of.
The staff the figure came with is , IMHO, the ultimate example of how bad the material used for pack ins really is. That stupid salacious crumb is a sterling example of this as well.

That's not Salacious B. crumb that packed with amanamanamanaman, It's some horrible freakazoid second cousin on the paternal side. Why did they resculpt Salacious so his head is turned and redo his tail so t doesn't support him standing anymore? I use the same trick as the other guys to get the staff to stand 'proud' like Amanamanamanaman's staff should.
beats me why they went the rubbery route, maybe the designers have a strange fetish issue...... :crazed:

A young child that could possibly be harmed by Amana's staff shouldn't be playing with this toy anyways let alone know what it is. I wonder if you can dip the staff in a flat lacquer so that it would stiffen?

Besides Viagra, just as you all say, position his hand tilted so the skulls can rest there

I finally got one today ( ) and I find that you have to use the opening between the 2nd and 3rd finger. And a stand. I borrowed Gasgano's.

That looks pretty good Lord Tenebrous. I don't really mind how soft the plastic is for the staff, the real problem is Amanaman's hand. It's not closed enough to actualy grip the staff so that it's straight, it leans back, or falls forward in his grip. A little piece of the stuff that you can use to stick posters to the wall and he holds it pretty well. Wish I could remember what it's called again. :)

Sticky stuff? :p Don't try to use that in stores though when asking an employee for it, it's their code for it but they don't understand it when it's coming from a civilian.

Perhaps displaying the figure in the freezer would be a good idea...? :D

Seriously though I don't have it but if you want a staff for it why not try tracking down a repo-vintage Amanaman staff or one from the actual vintage figure? I don't think they go for a lot.

Thanks for the PM Mabudon, I never can remeber the name of that stuff. That poster sticking stuff is called "sticky tack", hope that helps all you Amanaman lovers give your figure a better grip on his staff. :)
