We've have the Build A Droid figures

how about Build A Character of Star Wars saga by collecting figures that comes with a body parts of a star wars character and when you buy all the figures to complete the star wars character.

so which one would be the Star Wars Build A Character figure besides Droids?

here are ideas for the BAC (Build A Character) figures

I think Hasbro should do BASD next: Build-A-Star-Destroyer. Every new action figure would come with a part to the toy vehicle that could be assembled once you collected all 5000 pieces.

Seriously, though, if they were going to do a Build-A-Character promotion, then it would have to be a character that people would WANT to complete for their collection. Preferably, a large sized, movie-figure that would simply not be practical to sell on a card. And preferably NOT a character that would create the situation of selling action figures to children with detached, old-lady arms included in the package.:dead:

I've said before, and will again: the Gorax (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gorax).

Now THAT would be awesome! I'd even buy Jocasta Nu if she came with a Gorax part, then she would immediately become his first victim.

I rather see Hasbro do a BAP : Build a Playset.... small two packs of figures that go with the overall playset... ie: battlepacks that form a modular playset. i know Hasbro has said in the past that the idea of a playset is out of the question but if they made the figures into something the fans really want and the playsets were awesome additions to the fans like the Death Star throne room, Hoth Base, Jabba's Palace, finishing off the Cantina, maybe even some Clone Wars locals then the sets would sell.

if Hasbro just made a few kitbashed or repaints or repacks and a playset piece then the line would fall apart

Hasbro has said time and again that they won't do a Build-a-Figure (I don't remember if it's their idea or LFL won't approve it). Anyway, for it to work, it would have to be a figure people want. Senators and bureaucrats have a pretty narrow appeal and wouldn't do what Hasbro would be looking for (which is help sell those characters in the first place because they've got the piece you need). They like the droids because theoretically the pieces are swapable, and I don't see any character where that would be the case. Maybe clones so that they wouldn't sell any more in the regular line?Marvel does it with a large scale character and I like that idea but Star Wars doesn't have very many of those (Ephant Man has been done but he'd have been a good contender). I'm actually pretty disappointed they're giving up the droid parts soon, there may not be a ton of droids I want left but it was nice getting a bonus figure every time you completed a wave.

Is it too late to change the Top 30 poll results? I need Lufta Shif, and I need Lufta Shif NOW!!!

Oooh, I've got it! This is perfect!

Jocasta Nu comes with the head and blaster.
Jira comes with the torso.
Lufta Shif comes with the left leg.
Mon Mothma comes with the right leg.
Tusken Torture Shmi comes with the right arm.
Han Solo with Stormtrooper Leg Armor comes with the left arm.

Put them all together and you get... Dr Evazan!

Second wave could build Cliegg Lars with just-as-boring characters!

They're ending Build-A-Droid? Why!?! Its the best in pack extra thing that they have ever come up with. I love em, you can never have too many droids, it doesn't matter if they were in the films or not as far as I'm concerned. So, when will they end?

so does it means that there still going to make droids from movie and expanded universe as a basic figure line and not as BAD?

Yeah, that's what Hasbro has said. They confirmed it in an Q&A and I believe the change will be happening when they switch to the new packaging this spring? I have to agree, I don't know why they're moving on from it because it's been a great way to get me to buy quite a few figures I'd have passed on otherwise. I doubt any new pack-in scheme could hope to be as successful.

Well, that kind of sucks.

The only other thing that I would like to see them do, if they are to do somehting other than BAD would be to include background accessories. Things like those cubes that you see stacked in the backgrounds of the movies, or other brick-a-brak. Maybe small creatures that were in the backgrounds. Womp rats, Jerbas, anything like that.

I'd love to have some accessories for things like the BMF. Some boxes of tools or other items that were laying around in the Falcon. Pimp my starship, Hasbro!

as much as I'm a big fan of the BAD concept I hoping they don't have a pack in for the next assortment of figures for 2010. can kinda use a break of buying every figure just to get the parts to build the droid... i think I'm going to start getting more selective with my purchases come 2010.

I'd pass on all three of those, easily.

I am the Gorax, I speak for the trees.

I think it has something to do with the potential gore factor. Kids could get three of the six parts needed to make the figure and stop there. The partially assembled figure then becomes a victim of Darth Maul. Cool for kids and collectors, bad for squeemish mothers.

I would probably buy a gundark, packaged or as a build-a-critter.
