How did it move around, or did it stay in one place? I was thinking maybe by repulsorlifts.

Ask and yee shall recieve, this information comes from the Official Star Wars website. Remember, you asked. :D

Name: FX-7
Species: Droid
Manufacturer: MedTech
Type: Medical assistant
Affiliation: Rebel Alliance

Since replaced with Industrial Automaton's Emdee series of medical assistant droids, the FX-7 model is an antiquated holdover used in several Alliance installations. Developed by the now-defunct Medtech Industries, the FX series (nicknamed the "Fixit" series) comprised nine model lines, filling numerous roles.

The FX-7 has a wide array of sophisticated appendages arranged around its cylindrical body. The number of arms varied throughout the line, but 20 appendages was the norm. Because medical needs varied from sector to sector, Medtech specifically designed the appendages and storage slots to be modular.

The FX-7's cap-like head is a cluster of sophisticated medical sensors and diagnostic equipment. The standard FX-7 lacks a vocodor, but has an expansion slot that allows for the addition of one. In lieu of vocal communication, the FX-7 has readout screens and a scomp link for direct access to medical computers or other droids.

Like many medical droids, the FX-7 lacks mobility. It is designed to be posted in a specific medical station, and kept in one location for the duration of its service. An optional repulsorcart, which was also manufactured by Medtech, allows the droid to be carried from place to place.

Must've been costly after awhile, having to evacuate base after base and the FX-7 was most likely a pain to care about since it was so big, I wonder how many of them were killed due to the laziness of engineers being able to put wheels on some "mouse" droid but not hover unit or anything on FX-7... Long live FX-7! :D

When they're evacuating the station, they simply kick FX-7 on its side and ROLL it to the cargo transports! ;)

I was thinking about the following passage from the official site, and it reminded me that they made a mini-rig of the repulsorcart to move FX-7 around. It was the PDT-8 Personnel Deployment Vehicle. I'll attach a picture at the bottem. :D

Hey! I still have that mini-rig. It was one of my favorite toys. It was so versatile and I was thrilled because it was so cheap that it didn't take long for a uppermiddle class boy like me from ND to save up for.

The mini-rigs were actually pretty dang interesting. And frankly, many of the designs were just as good as things in Episode One. Especially the Coruscant Taxi which always looked just plain silly IMOP.

Yeah, the taxi could've been easily available in the Invasion Force line just as a 2 piece snap together kit, the pod and bottom wing would just need snapping together and we'd have the pilot as a pack-in, easy. :D

Anyway, yeah the mini-rigs were cool, that PDT-8 I doubt is the thing they mentioned for it but no doubt that would've been something they transported them with to the main transporters. It'd be cool if there was a scene in the background with someone piloting that around in the background in the hangar bay on Hoth with an FX-7 in it for the ESB DVD, they would just need to digitally add it in the background, doesn't need a big close-up either. :)
