eagerly awaiting pics of these guys along with the A-Team van. they are already up for pre-order on EE but no pics. I hoping that they are really decent looking figures as they would look great posed with G.I. Joe figures.
the van is suppose to have electronics where it knows what figure is placed in the driver's seat and will recite a line from the movie. i wonder if they are holding info on the figures till SDCC.

Very nice. Those look like they'll fit in with Joe figures easily. I think I wish the van were a little larger, though, but these are must buys for me.
Now if they could just really make me happy and do classic figures as well.

this looks like it is going to be one awesome line. can't wait to get these babies at retail. totally want the A-Team and van to go with G.I. Joe....might get 2 vans and customize one for the Punisher's van.

The sculpts and articulation on those reminds me of 8 years ago, and the Van is ok but it looks like they went the cheap route with the door attaching only on the top, no opening rear doors, and super simple seats. There is a fat bulk in the back of the van though. Better than I expected though.

i'm guessing that the bulk in the back is for the electronics. I too would have loved to see more in the way of playability in the Van.
really liking the way Hannibal looks, Face is OK and can make a nice generic plain suit guy, Murdock looks cool and BA is another OK. also like the fact that they are including more of a realistic style gun and not some crazy firing weapon or something.
would love it if they also made a series of the original A-Team... that would rock.

I saw a post on the joecustoms forums that Spectre has already found these at Target:

i guess the hunt begins...dang I'm trying to be good and not spend a ton of money and the toys companies seem to release everything i want around the same time.....
well first i need to see them up close before i make a final decision on whether to buy them or not. i really want Hannibal, Murdock and the Van just not sure if I'm all for the sculpt of Face and BA.

spotted these over the weekend in a Target in Vineland NJ. they look alright, need some work though. no sign of the van yet. definately getting Murdock and Hannibal but thinking about making customs for BA and Face as I'm not a fan of the figures that are being offered.

I managed to snag a full set between two Targets. Largely wiped them out. No van, which sucks, but I expected it.
I have heard their weapons suck, so I had already purchased modular M4s through Marauder Gunrunners for each of them, and it just so happened those came in today too, so aside from the complete lack of Black Widow, I was fairly happy where toys were concerned today.
I might have to get a 1:18 sports car for Face at least. I'd obviously be inclined toward a Corvette, but I'm not married to that idea.

I do have some grey hair. But i dont like taylor hicks though. LOL....
But anyway...the A-team figures are ok. I like the way they look but the heads are strange...they pop off kinda easy but i can not wait til the van comes out...i think that the van is the main thing that every one will get.

Huh. This is a new A-Team Toy Thread.
I too would like Peppard, Benedict, Schultz, and T's figures from the classic.
I might pick these up. I didn't think about putting them with GI Joe figures, or having them fight the Arabs from the Indiana Jones line.
There are possibilities there.
I'm not crazy about the v-crotches on the figures. I liked Faceman's figure best, because his suit-jacket hides it.
They should make his Corvette. I think it's in the movie. They should also make a series of his girlfriends in a "battlepack."
It sucks that on Hannibal and B.A., their shoulder holsters have the guns molded into them instead of having them sport real functionability.
Oh well.
Maybe I'll buy these tonight. It's getting me motivated to make a toy run. The Padres lost tonight so my spirits weren't up after the game. We're still in First Place though. San Diego's A-Team still knows how to rock the ballpark.
I'm getting a Chase Headley action figure (bobblehead) tomorrow!

I picked up the main team and the van today.
I'm REALLY disappointed in this van. The doors are so flimsy and fall off all the time. I think I'm going straight back to Target tomorrow and returning all of them.

I saw it today at Target, and thought, "Man, I wonder if everyone at SSG will be so excited about this POS when they see it in person?" I might still get it for my Joes... if it gets marked down to less than $8.

haven't seen the Van at retail yet but defiantely want one for a Background vehicle...the figures are Meh but hey it's the A-Team...perhaps if the line sells really well that maybe they will consider making a classic set of the main cahracters with better accessories. here's hoping

I saw and picked up the van today. Haven't had chance to free it from the package.
If it's just background, it's just background.
Edit: I opened the van. I had already been told the back doors don't open. That severely limits its usefulness to me. If it clearances enough some day I may try to pick one up to cut it apart and see if I can come up with some way to make the back doors open and shut, then give it to Punisher. Otherwise, I have no need for a second at this point, which sucks.
The side door is pretty lame. The instructions point out that the door is removable. I'm not sure they didn't just realize the door won't stay on, so they spun it as a play feature: Door is removable/falls off/barely stays closed!
I haven't bothered with batteries, because I don't think I'll care one way or the other about lights and sounds. Honestly, I'm sure they could have dropped the lights and sounds to allow the back doors to open, and I would have been just fine, wonky door and all.
I think the van's an important part of any display I make of these characters, and it's perfectly fine for that, but if you want it for play value, you're probably best crying about the lack of 1:18 scale vans out there.

I'm still bummed that they aren't using the boss wheels from the original series. Those red turbine mag wheels are some of my all-time favorites, they show up in classic magnesium silver on the General Lee as well. I guess I like liney wheels, some of my other favs are the DeLorean Volvo wheels, and the '82 Trans Am wheels from Knight Rider with the black bowl covering most of the wheel.

the van looked horribly basic when i saw it at target today. whatever that van-type hummer-hybrid thing was from the joe movie line was done much better.

I also looked over the van today, and the door looked downright awful the way it's supposed to go on there. The interior was junk, and the electronics box in the back is a no-go, but the wheels, the scale, the colors, and the front end hold up decent enough.
Those figures are so bad in person though, the faces and the ugly jointing are just too much.

Murdock is the worst of the bunch. His ears and hair look like he's wearing a bad mask.

have only spotted these once so far and have yet to see them in any Targets, TRU's or Walmarts yet.... have yet to even see the van at retail.
was thinking that Hannibal would make a somewhat decent Detective Figure, Face would make a decent **** dealer, and not sure what to do with BA or Murdock yet.. still want them though.
I'm hoping that they make classic versions of the figures as well as perhaps some female figures for the mix. would love to see a Jessica Biel figure for the series....also would love to see some Military figures as well in their dress uniforms..generals, etc.
Tycho
06-09-2010, 10:03 AM
Is Jessica Biel in the new A-Team movie?
Let me guess: Face sleeps with her ----cut to an explosion ----cut to Face sleeping with another woman....cut to a car chase or a helicopter chase ....cut back to Face sleeping with another woman*
*He wouldn't actually be sleeping. This is an action movie after all. ;)
I've seen the Van just once. It looked... Adequate. It's all black with the red stripe, not black on the bottom and metallic grey/silver above the stripe like on the original show.
These toys remind me of the Terminator line from last years. Playmates put just enough into those to take up space at retail, but they looked dated and silly when compared to Hasbro's products which really do stand out and are really well done. I am not just talking about the SW lines, either. Even the GIJ:ROC stuff looks light years above these A-Team toys (as well as the Playmates toys).
El Chuxter
06-09-2010, 11:19 AM
That doesn't take much. The current GIJoe product is better overall than the current Star Wars product.

I agree with you regarding the figures. But they need more vehicles. LOTS more vehicles. Like they did in the 80's. That's one thing that the SW lines have going for them.
El Chuxter
06-09-2010, 11:52 AM
True, but they didn't for a very long time. It's only since the Clone Wars that there've been more than a couple of vehicles at any time. GIJoe might be better about that once Renegades launches, if it catches on.

Unless there are two different decos out there, it is lighter than the black of the rest of the van, just not by much.

Yeah, the van I saw at Target last week had dark gray above the red line.
I love the packaging for the van, "Plays quotes from the movie" on 2 different sides of the panel that shows what it does. And who gives a crap about generic, unmemorable quotes from this abortion anyway?

Maybe you can press a button and B.A. will say, "I pity the Fool (who bought this)!"
"Sucka!"
:D
That would be Michael-Bay-Awesome!

The vehicle in the best scene in the movie (and most used by the whole team - as they really don't use a lot vehicles) would be an orange RESCUE HELICOPTER (ambulance air lift) that can seat 4.
Then add the A-Team action figures!
Toys R Us sells a big Black Hawk for 3 3/4" figures. I might get one and repaint it if I wanted to do this one.
The movie was great!
Stay after ALL the credits for cameos by the original actors for Face and Murdock!
I took a closer look at the van, and it does indeed have the dark grey above the stripe. It's so subtle, it's almost impossible to notice unless you look closely.
I saw the new movie on Saturday and the cameos are cool, but the credits are so long it may not be worth it to some folks.
Overall I enjoyed the movie.

Film critics almost never like the same kind of stuff I enjoy.

picked up the van last night in Target in Edison... haven't really had a chance to play with it yet but I like it as a background vehicle...it's rather annoying that the side door falls off so easily...going to have to see what i can do to fix that....
also picked up Hannibal and BA - no sign of Murdock, Face or the other figure... might try to customize better versions of the A-Team figures using some of the Build and Brawl Wrestlers from Jakks as well as Marvel Universe and G.I. Joe... going to see what I can come up with.
will post pics as soon as I can

I've been trying to find a cheap ($20-30) 4 seat helicopter toy that I could get and put the Team in - if I'm going to buy the 4 heroes at all. I suppose I'd get the van, too.
But the best action sequence (in a vehicle) in the entire movie was Murdock's flying - easily without question!
I think it was some kind of police / rescue copter.
I know the big Black Hawk is available in Toys R Us - but it wasn't that kind of helicopter in the movie.
There are also Humvee vehicles made for 3 3/4" military lines that the Team interacted with in the film - but mostly to blow them up.
I need "a plan to come together."
Actually, I don't need more toys - but this is The A-Team darnit!

didn't Matchbox make something along the lines of a scaled Rescue Copter with a 3.75 inch figure some time back or was it true heroes... not sure if it's an exact match to the one in the A-Team but I have seen them before at various stores...

I haven't been able to find anything. Sometimes around Christmas they issue generic action figure toys with vehicles at Targets and Wal-Marts for low-cost "big" gifts.
Maybe I should buy a set of A-Team figures and the van before they are all gone?
I guess I like the A-Team enough. I watched it religiously as a kid and I own all 5 seasons of the original show on DVD and loved the movie.

And, well, I'm not sure this stupid thing was worth $6. It's super-cheap. For stationary display, it may work well, but I'd be p***ed if I'd paid $20 or more for a kid to actually play with it.

Anyone still seeing the figures? I'd like a really good paint job on Faceman, if I could only find it.
I have a sealed MOMC Face that I can return with the new receipt.
