Halo Figures

My kid is really into Halo. I bought him some figures and he by no means plays rough, yet the plastic on these guys sucks. I mean the joints bust (amputated forearm) the accessories snap in half, for example a rifle snaps when trying to place it in the figures hand. This is nuts, I wonder why the plastic is weak and rigid. I told him no more Halo figs because this is simply ridiculous. Any thoughts or similar issues out there?

It's pretty common with McFarlane stuff. When the Rookie figure came out, I couldn't even find one that didn't have his lower arm snapped off in the package, before I even opened it. They're really not meant to be played with, regardless of how much articulation they have.
