Those cardboard dioramas are horrible if you live in a humid climate because it's nearly impossible to keep the cardboard from warping and curling. Which of course makes it impossible to get figures to stand inside the diorama.

you're right about the warping and curling....i put the heavier figures down on the warped areas and that seems to work....just amazing how NEW figures brings this piece of crap back to life....

I picked up the new Jabba this morning and dug through about 15 boxes in the attic to find a rolled up, warped, piece of flimsy cardboard.....had to tape alot of the edges together to make it work, but by the time i added like 30 figures to it....it finally looked decent....

I still use both the cardboard Jabba's Palace and Cantina dios - they're far from perfect, but look so much better than just having them all lined up on the shelf (like most of my other figures).

Don't know when I'll get the new Jabba (cheapest pre-order I've seen in UK so far is 50 :() but I do want it.... the diorama already has a built-in cardboard dais - does the new dais sit on top of this ok?

funny you mention this because when i put the new dais on the diorama, it's a perfect fit...the dimensions are exactly the same....you don't even need to use the built-in dais...it butts up nicely to the small staircase....

Great, that sounds excellent, thanks. Is the cardboard dais a separate piece then, that can be taken out? I was thinking it was part of the whole pop-up construction, but kind of remember now that it might be a sort box that just sits there?

the cardboard dais is removable...it has a couple of tabs....the NEW dais by itself is flush against the top of the cardboard staircase.....

That's funny I stumbled across this thread. I was cleaning up the attic the other day and found my diorama packed in its box (although smashed as the Han stayed in the house with the rest of the gang:D). Forgot I even had this set, it's been a while.

I've restored my flimsy warped cardboard by placing old heavy textbooks on it.....looks great now with the NEW Jabba and new figures!!!!

Has anyone tried gluing the cardboard to some foamcore to add rigidity?

good idea....haven't tried that....I just taped it down and with enough HEAVY Jabba patrons, it flattens out :p

I've had both this and my Cantina set up for years. I love being able to add new figures to these every year. However, they are both starting to buldge at the seams, specifically Jabba's Palace. I need to figure out how to make it seem bigger to fit everyone. Thanks for the info about it fitting in so nicely, I knew I was going to have to buy the majority of the ROTJ wave, but I guess I will have to set aside some money for this guy as well.

Wait til the BIG PIGS come out in WAVE 3....then you'll have plenty of pork to weigh down those bulging corners:p
