I have a few friends in Australia and until now they haven't been affected. My friend, Liam, is originally from Brisbane. He has family and friends in the Toowoomba area.

Between the heavy rains, which have been creating the floods, and now this "instant tsunami", the country is being ravaged by nature.

They say that the worst will be hitting central Brisbane tomorrow. A city of 2 million people has been evacuated in anticipation of the devastating floods!!

It's like New Orleans all over again. :(

I've been following this, too. What a mess!

Toowoomba. My dad was an exploration geologist for a major oil company and he was considering relocating the family to Australia. We would have lived in Toowoomba. Australia doesn't have much oil, or at least it needs a few more million years to form. That's why we stayed home. I've always wanted to travel to Australia ever since the scant possibility of moving there presented itself. One day, hopefully!

Incredible!! Your life could've been washed away so quickly. I'm kinda shocked that there aren't many people contributing to this thread. Weird. I thought more people would care/be interested/have a comment?

This after years and years of drought. Feast or famine as they say.

The Rellies are ok living in the highlands of New South Wales thankfully.

I guess the Crocs are the least of their worries, but you have to wonder about them all the same.
